  1. LOL......definitely new ;-)
  2. Cool....thanks Narnia!
  3. How many of us left standing Narnia?
  4. Jeez, I thought 30-40 seconds was stretching it a bit !! Tells every woman on the forum a lot about you :))
  5. no substitute for a young stiff beau with a penchant for throwing his woman to the ground and having his wicked way for a good thirty or forty seconds because you deserve it! I can't think of anything more repulsive ;-)
  6. Thames water is the hold up as far as I know and there's not a lot the council can do. Sure they can threaten and fine etc but it doesn't mean the job will necessarily get done any quicker. It seems to me as though the work has men working along it at some point, but they go back and forth along the sections, which is wny most of the time, along most of the stretch nothing is happening.
  7. Rye Lane is not in James Ward. You might want to try the ward councillers for that ward instead.
  8. The only thing I like about the Valentines ritual is the anonymous card giving. That is sweet. The rest I can leave. Flowers and chocs are best given when not expected.....not because it's February 14th!
  9. All that three divorces means is three failed relationships. Some people marry whereas others just live together. I think that 'some people just can't ever be alone' is probably the truest observation. We all know people like that and they are also the people who easily jump ship when someone more appealing comes along. And I personally avoid them like the Plague.
  10. A right ole mess then where those that do have to sail through those waters have little they can effectively do to protect themselves.
  11. Damn right Brendan.
  12. Quite....something equally unfathomable happened to a friend of mine years ago. Her boyfriend propesed to her, and then two weeks later moved in with someone else. Some people I think, just crave attention without a thought for the feelings of the other person. It took her a long time to get over it.
  13. I love this drama....love it's understated style and love that jumper too. *Methinks the lack of change of attire is a deliberate ploy by the filmmaker to remind the viewer that it's a 20 day drama rather than a 20 week drama*
  14. Alas, there's no tool that can convert me! ;-)
  15. I like this game :)
  16. Hilarious Annette!
  17. To be fair, not all wards have an excellent forum such as the EDF to do that. So both James and the EDF are the winners here. James is certainly a hard working councillor but he's not the only one. My ward councillors work very hard too but have to rely on their own websites and facebook for online engagement with residents, as Nunhead Forum is useless and poorly run and Peckham has no equivalent at all. Still, well done James.
  18. It looks as though we'll finally see some action on the widespread use of CCTV, use of clamping, and the red tape that make volunteering by decent people complicated. Article The Bill I especially welcome (whilst not the most important aspect of the bill) the move to outlaw clamping on private land. Also the CBRC system needs completely overhualing. I can not cope as it is with the number of applications.
  19. Not enough military vessels to do it unfortunately and patroling the sea is not an easy thing to do. It would be far more effective if commercial shipping companies hired armed security guards on their vessels. Smaller pleasure cruise vessels should perhaps avoid the area altogether. And the Somalian government could do more than it currently does to police it's own coastline of course.
  20. Ladies pipes are my speciality!
  21. Or just freeze the pipe up to the sink taps, cut it and cap it (use isolation valves and you can turn them on if you want to get some water at any point).
  22. Must be all the cold water!
  23. I think there's some truth in that MM. For me the underlying issue is that the private sector doesn't create enough full time jobs, and hasn't done for some time. That's where growth needs to happen.
  24. The same is true of the ball cock......(plumbing seems to be full of cocks!) How can it be a ball and a cock at the same time? I can feel a google moment coming on......;-)
  25. PK I do not make excuses for racists but nor do I tolerate every mention of 'black teenager' as being labled as racist. Why you seem intent on picking a fight on a point that is clear....that too many boys from lower socio-economic backgrounds fail at aschool, is mystifying. My point has been consistent throughout, improve education, work with parents and give these youngsters other options than gang culture, knives and so on. And in fact one reason why the gap has closed between white and black male pupil failure rates is because of the work done to target ethnic minority groups in schools. Try looking at the stats for ten years ago and you'll see a very different gap. In fact in every post I have made clear the link between socio-economic groups and anti-social behaviour. Just because I also am prepared to face the hard cultural realities of some of these groups does not mean I'm making excuses for racists.
