  1. So sorry to hear this sad news. I hope it is a little comforting that you know what happened to your lovely cat.
  2. Are you sure the new battery isn't faulty?
  3. I thought it might be a tastevin.
  4. William Rose building was once the pine furniture shop run by the late Trevor who later worked at Bells I think.
  5. I couldn't work out how to search either but there is an article in the Dulwich Diverter September/October issue which lists places in Dulwich which are open. These include Dawson's Heights, which I am guessing is fully booked now, the burial ground in Dulwich Village (both days), Kingswood House, afternoon of Sunday I think and 155c Lordship Lane, Sunday 10 till 5. Why is this thread in the Lounge please?
  6. At least the Co-op won't need to fear that Waitrose will come to Dulwich - not that they were ever on the cards to come here. Articles in yesterday's Evening Standard say they have scrapped plans for any new stores, even where they had already announced plans to locate new Waitroses.

  8. I think each shop there has individual parking for their use and for their own customers only. I don't know about the legality of the wardens and parking tickets but I do think that places like the vets, and the tile shop for that matter, need parking for their own customers.
  9. What about buying a coffee machine and a reusable thermal mug. You can make coffee to your precise liking at home for a fraction of the price and take it with you. You will have to source the beans that are to your taste, of course.
  10. The notices have been there for a very long time. They clearly point out that you can't park in these spaces. The parking spaces are needed for people bringing sick animals to the vet.
  11. Yes, that's what I did. And shared the petition on Facebook too.
  12. Signed. But it asks for donation in dollars.

What about pollution from an unnecessary car journey? And did the butter taste good? Price of an item isn't the only consideration, important though it is.

I wonder if LondonMix has missed out a NOT by accident. I do not think charity shops are meant to provide cheap clothing for poor people but rather to raise money for their particular charity.

It is getting more and more difficult to park in many local roads. I agree with all the points add by Fjgb. Added to these points, I have noticed that a lot of people parking in what used to be their front garden have vehicles which are longer than the garden and which jut out onto the pavement.
  17. David Greig had its headquarters first in Brixton and then at 144 Waterloo Rad. The Waterloo building still has their logo on it.

  19. That is probably the plan.
  20. Louisa you can get to Iceland in Camberwell Road very easily. Lots of buses go there, stopping almost outside the store. There is a big car park and the shop is open late most days. Maybe some of the staff you like have moved there. However M&S in Walworth Road and in Lewisham and Brixton all have lovely, helpful, cheery staff. I see no reason why the Lordship Lane branch shouldn't also have well trained, friendly people working there. What's more, M&S sell a wide range of delicious food.
  21. At Sainsbury's today the recycling bins were overflowing and I witnessed people who looked well dressed ( at least one drove up in a newish car) go through the clothing and put many items into bags they had with them.

That "sorely missed" deli scored very low in the hygiene ratings. I seem to remember only "1".
