  1. We have Football Focus and Betting Matters. I thought it was about time there was a thread specifically for (even part time) rugby fans. I realise it may not be utilised so much but so what. My highlight of the week-end was watching Munster win in France.Given how poor they were the previous week this was a truly astounding performance against Perpingnon who rarely lose at home. It made me realise that they are some force when Stuart Barnes (who had to commentate on the game) plus a well known Irish journalist had written them off as being finished. Those guys wrote what I thought last week. Soon we have the 6 nations. I think that will be a lottery in the sense that there may be upsets. If my team are up for it we should win at home to Italy, Scotland and Wales but at Twickenham and in France will be much more difficult. On the other hand we tend to lose to Wales at home and beat them away. It's a while since we lost to Scotland so this could be their year. And Italy could destroy our pack and win on pens. Ireland for the wooden spoon? Wonder what the odds are?
  2. Last year I was a winner in the original version (and am now in the relegation zone of that one). After a bright start I've gone downhill and am languishing in the nether regions. I tried to tranfer myself out of the slump and lost many points as a result of this. Should I be sacked? If not who should I buy or re-buy.Who is going to score a hat-trick this week-end? He'll be my captain. PM's only please...........no point in everyone knowing.
  3. I await DM's reply eagerly. Not so the Hun who won't really say anything.

  5. No it doesn't. This was a negative campaign whose only point was beating another release to a unimportant position. Who cares? The question you should ask is not that this reminds people they can make a difference but what would people want to make a difference about? Most people can't be bothered so long as their life is ok. Shame that this event has been given any importance in the media. There are far more important things happening in the world.
  6. .....and he gets offended if you call him a gobshite! Think Keane of Man U and you get Viera of Arse as the equivalent. In response to Mick's last post.
  7. So you're not going to sheepishly hide away?
  8. Please do...........any chance of you seeing the Northern Lights?

And this has what do do with Child abuse in Ireland, exactly?
  10. Bribery and corruption..............is that your summing up of the English game? Ever occur to you it might have been better for ManU to have a difficult match and come through that than play Wolves reserves......eh 1st team squad players.
  11. In football parlance it's the equivalent of leading 9-1 only to have the result made void as you had an unregistered player on the bench. I wonder if they are more clever than they appear to be as they have got their point across, they are not striking but everyone knows they will if necessary. I'm only suggesting this as it's hard to believe they are so stupid.Maybe they are.
  12. Bob, these adjectives could be construed to be offensive. I'm a vegetarian which is not quite a Vegan but I wonder if you know the difference and if it would matter anyway? As for people with dreadlocks...........so what! Sulky.......have you never been 'sulky'? Teens..........well they would be between the ages of 13 and 19. Nothing they can do about that is there. Bottom line is if you don't like the music you don't like it. I don't. By the way both parties are tied to Sony so Simon what's his name will hardly give a fu*k. about it.
  13. Whatever Wenger thinks of McCarthy doesn't matter. McCarthy did what he thought was best for his club which may or may not be the right thing. Wenger as do others always plays 2nd strings in the League Cup and probably the FA Cup too when it suits. Is his reasoning for that, because it not worth winning? You can be sure that McCarthy wants to stay in the Premiership and for some teams it's like finding a way to climb Everest. He may have gone in the wrong direction but only time will tell. Last season Hull only survived because of their pre Christmas form. If Wolves stuff Burnley at the week-end then McC will consider it a job well done. If they don't then that's another matter. Man U made 5 changes from their last match. Why is that ok?
  14. How the hell did BA know people who weren't entitled to, voted? Given the number in favour of a strike (so we are told) the others wouldn't have affected the outcome.I understood it was a secret ballot.
  15. Didn't the owner say anything to you Daizie? Perhaps you should describe him to help other dog owners out. I'm glad Timmy survived but I wonder how he's going to be going for walkies in the future.
  16. If I'm correct they are allowed to break the law to enforce it on other people. Seemed to be the gist of part of the response to an appeal of mine for a ticket I received, not too long ago
  17. The fact is the staff are going to have to bite the bullet and by striking they may just be shooting themselves in the foot. BA is losing money, has a huge pension deficit and if they don't cut costs they may fall over. The additional losses they might make due to the strike may push them over the edge unless the go to the government for help. The proposed merger with Iberia won't happen if their problems aren't sorted out. That merger would save both companies hundreds of millions. There has to be casulties in terms of staff but such is the way of the world. I dosen't matter a hoot if the management are bas*tards or not. Economics dictate what needs to be done. Having been made redundant recently by a loss making parent company from a profit making subsidery company I should know that sh*t happens. They are loss making. The staff at BA should realise that Santa isn't coming and their actions may result in more of them losing jobs than might have been anticipated.
  18. Sorry for making you feel it was an 'in joke' to your exclusion. Quite a few people were aware of the thread where Blueboy offered ?20 as a bet, and he was unexpectedly caught out. In this thread he was 'donating' ?20 though the liklihood of it happening are pretty slim. Hence my reference to it. Apologies again. I'll try to stick to football in future.
  19. "Manager Rafael Benitez gave a first start to Liverpool's ?20 pound summer signing Alberto Aquilani." On Sky News iPod app. (Shanu, England). Is this ?20 comment okay for you Sandperson (taken from BBC's sport website under quotes of the week)?
  20. All these ?20 notes Blue! Have you settled your last account and balanced your books before going on a spending spree again?
  21. Horse sense is that faculty that prevents horses betting on humans.
  22. Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > TalkSport - Greatest Football Team of all time Does the reference to it being a 'head fought' final have anything to do with the Glasgow kiss?
  23. I have a theory which developed over the years in my family. It concerned my eldest brother who is a gent with a capital G. He married many moons ago and has three children. However two of them are twins. Thus we concluded that he consummated the marriage just two times. Is that it Jimmy?
  24. You eat baby chickens..........ugh
  25. Is it Spring boiling water?
