  1. He was singing to Elvis on Evelina Road an hour ago in the rain. Swear it's true.
  2. Why aren't you all beating a trail to Chav's backdoor? Her's will be fresh... Freerange too!
  3. I booked on line - ?59 day return each. PLEASE don't tell me how you might get it cheaper. Not that rich so this is quite a big day for me. Thanks so much for all your suggestions!
  4. Let's just hope he can keep his dick in his pants.
  5. There is a Nunhead and Peckham Rye Community Council Meeting on Wednesday evening. THIS Wednesday evening. Raise the question then as I believe it is in the right patch. Traffic people are going to be there. Wish I wasn't working! I enjoy the walk and it is frustrating that it is shut.
  6. Oh my goodness, what choices indeed. "Preposterous levels of fabulousness." How can one go wrong? I shall make my choice very soon. 2 December, in actual fact! Hope it's sunny. Smoking is still allowed in France in restaurants is it not? I am so out of date. I am allergic to it (smoke, not France) so hope I find a smoke free area. Just thought about that point.
  7. I LOVE this forum. Thanks Indiana! Sadly his birthday is 2 December but let's hope at least for dry day! I shall get a TimeOutParis and see what's what.
  8. I love Shepherd Neame beers, me, and I also adore Brains beers. Since you asked.
  9. Hubby's surprise birthday present if I can find his passport is to take him to lunch in Paris. Don't speak French though we have been to Paris several times before, but can anyone recommend where best to have a fab lunch? We arrive 12.30 and leave 6ish so we do have time to walk a little. Thanks for any recommendations!
  10. Women live alone because they want to? Men live alone because they can't find women to live with them? Discuss. But that is why so many more flats are needed and are being built because in this busy London life we live, we want to come back to some peace quiet and solitary time. If you want a female couple for your female magazine then go find some. And by the way what is a 'nice' womens magazine? As distinct from what? Just asking.
  11. I agree it sounds like there is nothing new in this. You missed out the growing number of childfree couples too, both gay and straight. How is it changing? What IS a "household"? What's so specific about "these days" that's making change from say, ten years back? It just doesn't sound - new enough?
  12. Tough question. The egg? No, the chicken? Ummm. Peckham IS properly linked. It has a TRAIN line. TWO stations (Queens Road and Peckham Rye). And those stations go everywhere. What's the point in knocking down housing and buildings. It would then become just one big transport hub for busses trains and trams. An airport would be nice though. I guess all this is old argument, so sorry for bringing it up again. "Peckham Vision" needs new eye test.
  13. That's Feb 2009...
  14. I'm training to be a humanist celebrant (faith free funeral services). Could you all hold on till about February please? I'll be qualified then.
  15. Not personally. The whole idea of it seemed preposterous, carving up huge areas of quite interesting bits and some very historical bits of Peckham, in order to plot a tram route. But what do you think? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7712002.stm
  16. I don't have a problem with something being artistically scientific or scientifically arty. I'm looking forward to it. Seen a lot of dead bodies and it's about time they were used (with the previous owners' consents of course!) to educate the rest of us. When I went to buy the tickets from the Dome itself it was half term and there were quite a few kids coming out of there looking fine about it. This is good. Anyone seeing the Neil La Bute show at Almeida? Giggirl? I just got tickets for that too.
  17. Judi Dench - Madame de Sade. The tickets for next June have now been placed in a vault in the Bank of England. Oh - and I am seeing BodyWorks at 02 next week.
  18. I am SO proud. I know the person responsible for Obama's election. She is a friend of mine in California. She ran the volunteer's office for 6 weeks, and JUSt before the official announcement was made Obama emailed her * with her name at the top of the email "Dear Lynne" even spelt right, and said he "could not have done it without you". All down to her. Well okay and a few hundred thousand other volunteers. But he spelt her name right. Him. personally. Him. Wow. *and probably EVERY volunteer's office in the country with the names of everyone at the top of the email but don't ruin my pride here, okay?
  19. Remember the nightmare of when people who dealt with feet, or LOOked like paedophiles, were attacked by angry mobs? We elect people who appoint people to punish bad people for us. They often get it wrong. But it's not our job to do it. However, they get it wrong too much. And this worm is beginning to turn...
  20. TillieTrotter Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Funny thread...keep it up boys! I am not a boy. Tho maybe my contributions aren't funny. Which is correct. It's not. The situation's driving me nuts. That bloody tart from EastEnders is bending me ear now. "NO chance you minger" I told her agent to tell her. Her agent replied to me, "Oh dear, "minger" is SO last year." I got Kate Hudson who has somehow got my "CELL" number and she's redialling begging for a meeting. I left a message "You'RE TOO YOUNG, LOVE". But no, fifteen bloody calls today. I blocked Keira, she's just pissing me off. So sort it out!
  21. You can 'ave 'er. But quick. Give her me script as a good selling point in case you're not rich and/or artistic. She'll love yo for it. I promise. But hurry up because now bloody Scarlett's joined the queue and she is SUCH a whiner.
  22. Off you go to Peckham Rye Park. The pavements are very very slippery where the kids (sorry, mostly kids) scrape off their muddy boots before climbing aboard the 4x4 to be chaufferred home.... leaving nice muddy pavements for the rest of us to slip on. On a less cynical and growling note though, I do see more mature men playing football there Sundays sometimes, the southern end, and it may be worth going there on a Sunday morning and asking if you can join in?
  23. Actually (Damn, I hate people who start sentences with AKshully), I heard ED was the Lesbian capital of London.
  24. Thou shalt not piss it down when I am out in bad weather on the motorcycle having to go to 15 venues all over London.
  25. I have a filmscript that's actor proof and director proof. She'd be great in the lead. Bloody hurry up, would you? I'm fighting off Uma Thurman 'ere and I don't want Madge to see Uma's scrawny fingerprints over this script. Oi! Keira, get to the back of the queue love!
