  1. Describe him in detail so we can all shout at him too.
  2. I have been to The Restaurant. It's lovely. It's small, and they take their time. It's expensive but probably very much worth it because of the time. I also like the fact the menu was not big, and it changes. Wish I could afford to go regularly.
  3. That's what they said. All cynicism aside, that's what they said. A bit like in Thomas Crown Affair when the water washed off the top layer painting covering the original Monet underneath.... Maybe that's where they get the idea from.
  4. Last night at the Nunhead and Peckham Rye Community Council, the mural was discussed. I could not attend the meeting, which was full. Mr Rose did attend, and says: "We think we now have a clearer view of the reality of what is happening with the mural. At the meeting was some Chief Exec of the Council and she told us that the only mistake that was made was that the council department responsible for applying the blue paint failed to tell everyone else what they were doing. Apparently, the blue paint has been put there to protect the mural from further vandalism and can easily be removed without damaging the mural beneath. The plan is, weather permitting, during the next month, the blue paint will be removed, the mural will be repaired, and then a "wipe clean coating" will be put over it to help ease the removal of any further graffiti without damaging the mural." I thank you.
  5. This one? http://www.pinkhearse.com/ I worked in a funeral directors - you'd be surprised and delighted what's available now for funerals these days. And yes I also arranged the motorcycle hearse for a biker: this one, as it goes! http://www.motorcyclefunerals.com/
  6. And what if "they" keep inventing new ways to travel with wheels. I mean how much space have we got? Bus lane cycle lane special lanes for the Olympic teams to travel (yeah, right), lanes for skateboarders. It's crazy. Walkers walk on pavements, cross when it is SAFE to do so, everyone else goes on the one road. Is that how it should be?
  7. If a ho cries does it go bo ho?
  8. Came home lunch time and she was snoring. Then she woke up, made out she had been out all night (which is a blatant lie as she sleeps all night on the bed), and ordered me to do her dinner early as she had an appointment to chase leaves on the balcony. This is also a lie since she is terrified of going out there in case the squirrel comes back. Since MadWorld74 recommended I line the plant pots with slate chippings they have given up, but she's still worried they might. She says all this today in the voice of Joe Pesci in Lethal Weapon. "OK ok ok ok ok ok ok ok make me dinner now. OK ok ok ok"
  9. You worked hard at getting noticed that's for sure. They're all over London I tell ya! They may be all over the country but I have not been outside M25 for a week.
  10. Highway Code says pedestrians should take responsibility. But if you are in or on a vehicle and a kid runs in the road in front of you, it's your fault. No questions. (Got a mate going through a case right now.)
  11. Well that's just stupid.
  12. My cat's called Spacey. And she has attitude. When I come home late she says "What time do you call this?" in a way Kevin Spacey talks to Samuel L Jackson in The Negotiator when he's trying to be distanced and not get involved.
  13. I drive around a lot of London. Regularly. Tied on to lots of lamp-posts all over London are white signs simply saying, in upper case, OPERA HOUSE. What's that about, then?
  14. My house. Fab coffee machine from ebay. Coffee from anywhere you want. Milk from Cows. Laptop. In bed. Cat purring on end of bed. Who wants to go out.
  15. I saw that one too. Another was was Faust at Hammersmith which took years I seem to remember. But nothing, not nothing, beats seeing America parts 1 and 2, by Laurie Anderson at Hammersmith Odeon on one day (in 1983?) followed 2 nights later by Parts 3 and 4. In the middle night we saw The Stranglers. Ahh those were the days. Proper music. Yawnnnn.
  16. My Cousin Vinny Faucet Scene. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=6u3rNz04nW8
  17. He was singing to Elvis on Evelina Road an hour ago in the rain. Swear it's true.
  18. Why aren't you all beating a trail to Chav's backdoor? Her's will be fresh... Freerange too!
  19. I booked on line - ?59 day return each. PLEASE don't tell me how you might get it cheaper. Not that rich so this is quite a big day for me. Thanks so much for all your suggestions!
  20. Let's just hope he can keep his dick in his pants.
  21. There is a Nunhead and Peckham Rye Community Council Meeting on Wednesday evening. THIS Wednesday evening. Raise the question then as I believe it is in the right patch. Traffic people are going to be there. Wish I wasn't working! I enjoy the walk and it is frustrating that it is shut.
  22. Oh my goodness, what choices indeed. "Preposterous levels of fabulousness." How can one go wrong? I shall make my choice very soon. 2 December, in actual fact! Hope it's sunny. Smoking is still allowed in France in restaurants is it not? I am so out of date. I am allergic to it (smoke, not France) so hope I find a smoke free area. Just thought about that point.
  23. I LOVE this forum. Thanks Indiana! Sadly his birthday is 2 December but let's hope at least for dry day! I shall get a TimeOutParis and see what's what.
  24. I love Shepherd Neame beers, me, and I also adore Brains beers. Since you asked.
  25. Hubby's surprise birthday present if I can find his passport is to take him to lunch in Paris. Don't speak French though we have been to Paris several times before, but can anyone recommend where best to have a fab lunch? We arrive 12.30 and leave 6ish so we do have time to walk a little. Thanks for any recommendations!
