  1. I got sparrows on my bird feeder. I hired a car today.
  2. I'd like to do Australia. On a motorcycle of course. And I'd like to speak another language, possibly some African one so I can understand the neighbours... though that may soon have to include Latvian too.
  3. Or yer might end up sounding like the parakeet. He's lost his voice a bit and his squark sounds hysterically sad.
  4. Eh? "and a barely functioning Zebra crossing" Works perfectly! I use it all the time!
  5. This thread is really interesting. I appreciate people's honesty. On the subject of wolf whistles from scaffolders: Kathy Burke once said (and I am sure I remember this right because I remember thinking that I feel exactly the same way) when she walked along the road and heard scaffolders wolf whistling, she knew there must be a prettier woman behind her. An innoncent wolf whistle can make my day (when I check there is no-one else around) but then when I look up to them, they say "Oh God, put yer helmet back ON, love. Yer ruined me day." And thus, so is mine.
  6. Built in graffiti space??? Oh why not encourage them!
  7. According to my Peckham Rye Park Tshirt, it's in SE15! And in my latest version of the Oxford English Dictionary they've gone and omitted the word "gullible".
  8. A parakeet. Noisy bugger, too.
  9. Define social taboo. However, your post, Huguenot, is appropriate and I agree. Long as we know what social taboo is. I am equally as interested in what the real reaction was. Did jollybaby - who admits to initial shock - shout at the boy? Or did he run off immediately after so he might not hear her? No problem in admitting getting a kick from being spanked by a stranger in the out of doors, but this was not planned! I agree, the kid needs to be caught, and spanked...! Course, he'll probably enjoy it. So then what.
  10. KFC Sorry but there you are. Once a month I just have to. Co-op or Sainsbury's version just do NOT taste the same at all. Lager and Blackcurrant. I know, I know.
  11. Just had leaflet put through my door, so in case not all of the Nunhead folk do, here's the information. It says: Nunhead Community Forum Annual General Meeting Saturday 8th November at 12 noon at St Thomas the Apostle Church Hall, Evelina Road, Nunhead. blah blah blah then it says The Agenda will include Presentation of the Annual report Guest Speaker from Southwark's Area Renewal Team Questions from the floor. Information Stalls from Local Organisations and the Council. Lunch will be provided. Then overleaf it has a proxy form in respect of resolutions mentioned below. There are no resolutions. So there you are, Nunhead folk. Don't say I don't keep you informed. :D
  12. I get the point about coffee in pubs but for me it's an alcohol drink followed by coffee then another alcohol drink followed by coffee. I work from home/pub-office, on line, so it's almost a necessity!
  13. Saw some fabulously big mushrooms in the foresty area bit of Peckham Rye Park last week. Massive they were, about 8 inches diameter. I know nothing about mushrooms though so no idea what brand/make they were.
  14. And you don't WANT traffic calming on Scutari, do you. Road bumps are a nightmare specially biker friendly ones as the cars then swerve to have their wheels drive either side of the bump in the middle of the road. But traffic angering measures often follow excessive and unnecessary use of traffic lights at junctions when cars try to find alternative ways of getting from A to B. Answer, a well signposted little roundabout with zebra crossings on all four roads supporting it. Little roundabouts at the east side of Rye Lane's roads (Consort, Copeland and Clayton) work fine. Traffic moves, and doesn't have to stop unnecessarily for red lights which in turn builds a traffic jam. Blah blah etc and so on!
  15. A big fabulous coffee machine is an absolute necessity for any pub. Get one and I may call Magnolia my office!
  16. What would have been the reaction had the original post referred to her spanker as an ugly old man? Just askin', like.
  17. Yes thank you for reporting back. Typically, Southwark Council paint over a third (or so) of a mural in an afternoon with no notice. Then it could take 7 months for them to get round to reinstate it. I am sure there will be lots of meetings, and meetings about meetings, and costings and feasibility studies, all expensive in themselves, in order to get it done though. Was anyone else there from... here?
  18. "Some people are willing to wipe their feet on anything with welcome written on it" from Andy Partridge XTC. I actually got that into a conversation without the other person realising it the other day. I know, weird, huh? But do pleeeease change your thread title to include lines from films too. One of my fave films is My Cousin Vinny and I am always getting lines in fron that. In a heavy New York Joe Pesci accent too. "You were serious about that?" "I guess the fu*&ing thing's broken then." "I'm done with this guy." "What a fu&*ing nightmare" (That's Marisa Tomei's line!)
  19. I shall be working but look forward to hearing all about it. Hope someone takes good notes and reports back all the council folk's names and who said what. Thanks to all who will go on our behalf.
  20. Were they related? If so I am sorry for Armando's loss.
  21. OMG A chocolate shop within walking distance. It really does "just keep getting better and better".
  22. The cleaner Greener safer award money can not be used to improve Highways. I know, stupid, isn't it.
  23. Keys Inhaler Purse Helmet Gloves Glasses Book Comb Mirror Lipstick Mobile . And switch the answerphone on. And I live on 3rd floor and my Dad used to always teach me never to go up/down/out empty handed. So - then I go back and see if the rubbish bags or recycling bags need to be taken down too.
  24. Oooooooh how exciting. Was there a catering van? Always good food on films sets. Just make out you're an extra and grab a plate of grub. You might get away with it!
  25. I am a member of the Co-op. I got a card and everything that says so. Why have I not been consulted. eh? Eh? Indeed it has to be a Health and Safety Hazard the way it is, and to use the premises next door would be a good answer.
