  1. Hey, it's a sunny day today. Be happy and cheerful, I dare you.
  2. Well he can only reply if you ask him direct. He may not see this post and he may not cross the park every day.
  3. *looks up 'divetted'* Does it have anything to do with horses digging holes in with their shoes?
  4. MarmoraMan, apart from never being able to get up early enough on a Sunday to do that sort of stuff, may I ask where you park the car? I find it hard enough to park a bike in that area!
  5. Yeah bonniebird, know what you mean, I'm forgetful after a heavy Saturday night!
  6. Mine hasn't been boring, but I've already written about it in 42 diaries....
  7. A three year thread revival. Is this a record? And if so was that the video?
  8. nunhead_man it is dangerous to wait sometimes because i have seen where a car correctly waited when the light turned red and got bumped by the impatient driver of the car behind. There is so much traffic coming from the Nunhead side specially since the roads got closed off at Waveney Road and Forresters Road (so-called rat runs) they are all forced to stay on that main road to turn left up Peckham Rye SE15 side.
  9. I reckon - those MrPR would be more scientifically and meterologically correct about it - that it's a result of the sun so low in the sky it lights the 'lid' of clouds above us from below, but at such an angle that the light passes through all the muck in the air but coming out with the beautiful result. I may be wrong. Great pics steveo! Looking out from my flat on the hill, I love seeing the cloud above the lights of the city - Broadgate building, Shard, Gherkin and soon to be coming the Building With More On Top, and they light the cloud above them whilst all else is dark.
  10. Great idea. We have one. Might be best to walk telescope to centre of the park though!
  11. Nothing stopping any of you buying some seeds of bee friendly flowers and so and putting them on there one evening. Hell, I've got some, maybe I'll do it!
  12. This has been a problem since the lights were put in years ago. We begged for filter lights at least or small roundabout. I organised a big presentation with signatures years ago and was ignored.
  13. I've got a short play on in April but it is in Surrey. One agent I know of received twelve hundred scripts a year. Theatres funded by the state like the Royal Court have to accept scripts so send their scripts to readers or such volunteers out of Uni to judge their scripts they receive. Most Are Shite. It's a tough life. Personally, I think such things are best left for the family to keep and read for ever. Probably including mine!
  14. I get mildly and pointlessly irritated when - doing the customs forms on the way into USA - you have to state that your country is UK. They don't understand their mistake and if you try and write England they'll send you to the back of the queue and do it again. Seen that done!
  15. MrPR Cyclist disagrees with this being safer for cyclists and so would I. Now everyone has just one lane. Putting a painted picture of a bicycle on tarmac does not make it safer for cyclists. 16. Any of the GPs at Nunhead Surgery. They can't all know everything, that's why there's specialists!
  17. I particularly hate it when the texter is strolling across the road whilst doing it. But I love it when you see two people together yet separately texting or talking to others on their mobiles.
  18. I disagree, there won't be room for cyclists to do much overtaking when technically they only have one narrow lane, cars parked on one side and on-coming traffic on the other. This may be why I have seen more cyclists on the pavement and the park recently. And I don't mind either as long as they don't ride aggressively and expect you to move, which some teenagers do, and most adults do not. It's lovely having a smooth road to ride down! Enjoy it while it's there before the council put a stop to it!
  19. It's great to see the detail.
  20. Basically the road is now divided in to three. The park side is now all for parking. The other two lanes are driving / riding / cycling up or down. And there are pinch points up the road, which are now rather pointless since one lane is for parking. I think it must be much more dangerous for cyclists, but as a biker I am loving the smooth new road quality. It will mean that you can't bomb along it when caught behind the 343 or 484 but as someone mentioned about Barry Road, there's a khama element there when being made to slow down behind a bus!
  21. Oops, sorry I didn't make it smaller first! There'll be complaints about the use of the bandwidth...
  22. Here you are.
  23. They get financing from various sources but certainly Southwark Circle which is a part of Participle should be self financing soon if not already. What is you real concern, alice?
  24. KidKruger, yes, years ago at my Aunt's, and hence the use of the phrase Blue Highways tour - but it is out of print and I'd love my own copy. WomanOfDulwich, Thanks so much! We'll go there! AnnetteCurtain - no, we thought we'd go without.
