What supernatural/seemingly supernatural things have you witnessed ?
PeckhamRose replied to KidKruger's topic in The Lounge
I was a very sick child and one day when I was in bed at about the age of seven, I was very ill and could not breathe well, and I suddenly realised I was looking down on myself, from the ceiling. I floated around the ceiling and felt great because I could breathe, and felt so happy. But then I heard my Nan coming up the stairs with a cup of tea for me and I thought, "I have to get back", and the next thing I knew I was back in my own body and she came in to my room. That'd be an out of body experience, then. -
Thanks everyone! Here's two more. I am not sure but I think I posted the first one before on this forum. Taken a few months ago from our flat. The other is from our front garden, I mean Peckham Rye Park!

Healthy Lives, Healthy People, our strategy for Public Health in England. Just got sent this. Thought some in here may be interested.

Aha - I did not see the inside of the Shard. If only! I would LOVE to go up the top of it! You can see the artists impressions that I photographed and that the worker sat next to, which are on the west side wall, access via Stainer Street and the road that leads to Guys Hospital. Thanks for the kind comments!

Thanks GSJ57! Really love doing this. I use a film camera. Then get a CD done when I get them D&Pd!

Hi - I read about this in Radio Times, and I simply could not bring myself to watch the programme. It's dreadful, like those who torture rhinos and tigers for their biles or whatever the sake of Chinese herbal medicines.

Last three. All that history! All those broken necks! Another bloody rainbow. From Stave Hill Rotherhithe. And lastly, the view from our flat. With words. Thanks for looking!

Taking the Thames Clipper for the sheer joy of it from Greenwich to London Bridge. A FABulous image OF the Shard! (From west side, junction Stainer Street and the road that leads from Guy's Hospital) And one of the thousands responsible for building it (he worked on scaffolding and gave me his permission to photo him!)

Man and Dog. 345 bus in Battersea. That rainbow a few months ago, junction Evelina Road and Kirkwood Road. Whacky design building in front of the O2 Dome.

Hello!! Where are your hives then? I went on a free Southwark bee keeping course in Walworth City gardens about 2 years ago. It was fab. I am sure you all know one another. There's one in Nunhead on Ivydale Road, too. Welcome to the forum! Enjoy!

You're welcome, and - yes I think he did! -
Roadworks/bus diversion Rye Lane
PeckhamRose replied to Twirly's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
FWIW I spoke with a Trading Standards Officer some time ago and they regularly visit the shops down Rye Lane because some of the shops sell / have sold illegal skin whitenening creams and are busted for it. If you think something is happening call them. They are over worked and very under staffed so don't have a go at them! -
But it's all rubbish anyway, isn't it? So say a lot of scientists including delicious Professor Brian Cox!
-
Some people still can't get over the fact there are 850cc scooters on the road but Piaggio built such weirdnesses years ago. It's sooooo wrong!
-
Or, LTP, just buy a rare old car and watch its value grow for better times!
-
ianr you are a gem, and the EDF researcher as well! Thanks for enlightening us!

Not true. Sorry. They did change the rules to allow traffic warden scum to lift up the cover so they can see your licence plate. Not exactly sure what the wording is of the law and can't be arsed to check. ortmann80 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It is illegal to have your bike on the path but if > you do, put a cover over it as traffic wardens are > not allowed to remove it in any way or form. Bunmi is best dentist, a beautiful friendly sweet woman at East Dulwich Dentists on Forest Hill Road opposite the Peckham Rye Park. Ask for her. pronounce it Boomy. Receptionist there follows the general UK rule of sounding really miserable with attitude. Get past her and go see Bunmi. And hello!

Yeah mine too. When people ask if I have a Harley I say "Do you have a Rolls?" Harleys break down. All the time. Well known fact. Been to a Harley Rally in Nevada and all the way back to LA were broken down Harleys. And I have ridden one in Arizona so Foxtrot Oscar!

Also have a tshirt that says on the back "If you can read this the bitch just passed you." Another that says "Does this Bike make my Butt look big?" Would like one that says on the back "If you can read this the bastard fell off." But then what idiots ride in tshirts! Not me.

"Well if pregnancy was a permanent condition, it would be surplus to requirements, but luckily it's not. And I'm quite looking forward to pursuing motherhood with a motorbike. Life isn't about to end." Good for you!!!!!! I know someone who was riding motorcycles till about 2 weeks before she sprogged. Sproglet is now a young motorcyclist himself and we think the humming of the engine beneath him when he was in mum's tum must have played its role. Very comforting sound! (Not a Ducati, obviously....) I hope you find somewhere safe and secure to lock motorcycle away for the four days either side of sprogging and that it all goes well for you!! I shall make some stickers for your bike that say "Children in Panniers" soon as I can! :)

I am sorry to read this, it is a sad sight to see a bike on its side. Is yours one of the few bikes tied to a lamppost outside Honor Oak Mansions? I often wonder how those bikes are not constantly ticketed for parking on the pavement. I do hope it was not damaged and I hope you find a suitable alternative to the parking arrangements!

I did a BBC job the other month. Had to be on location six a m in north west London. Luckily have motorcycle so got there easy and was allowed to park outside whilst all other actors were not allowed to park their cars around the area and the tube and bus was a good 15 mins walk. Great catering and good breakfasts for everyone which is right and fair since most had to work hard. Left the job nine pm, and had had a good lunch and evening meal and drinks available throughout. The crew and make up and so on had to be there earlier and later than me to set up and clear up. I got paid ?180. My agent took 20% plus 17.5% VAT and the employer took about ?50 for my National insurance contributions. My agent also decided to deduct ?50 towards my annual fee for appearing on their website. So my ?180 turned into a cheque paid 3 months later for ?94. I have to pay my own taxes also, from the initial ?180. Make of all that what you will. But I don't earn much (didn't even have to pay tax last year) and yet like every single other person on that set, we are all trained experienced and dedicated to making the best television programmes in the world. So there!
