Man and Dog. 345 bus in Battersea. That rainbow a few months ago, junction Evelina Road and Kirkwood Road. Whacky design building in front of the O2 Dome.

Hello!! Where are your hives then? I went on a free Southwark bee keeping course in Walworth City gardens about 2 years ago. It was fab. I am sure you all know one another. There's one in Nunhead on Ivydale Road, too. Welcome to the forum! Enjoy!

Roadworks/bus diversion Rye Lane
PeckhamRose replied to Twirly's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
FWIW I spoke with a Trading Standards Officer some time ago and they regularly visit the shops down Rye Lane because some of the shops sell / have sold illegal skin whitenening creams and are busted for it. If you think something is happening call them. They are over worked and very under staffed so don't have a go at them! -
But it's all rubbish anyway, isn't it? So say a lot of scientists including delicious Professor Brian Cox!

Some people still can't get over the fact there are 850cc scooters on the road but Piaggio built such weirdnesses years ago. It's sooooo wrong!

Or, LTP, just buy a rare old car and watch its value grow for better times!

ianr you are a gem, and the EDF researcher as well! Thanks for enlightening us!

Not true. Sorry. They did change the rules to allow traffic warden scum to lift up the cover so they can see your licence plate. Not exactly sure what the wording is of the law and can't be arsed to check. ortmann80 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It is illegal to have your bike on the path but if > you do, put a cover over it as traffic wardens are > not allowed to remove it in any way or form. Bunmi is best dentist, a beautiful friendly sweet woman at East Dulwich Dentists on Forest Hill Road opposite the Peckham Rye Park. Ask for her. pronounce it Boomy. Receptionist there follows the general UK rule of sounding really miserable with attitude. Get past her and go see Bunmi. And hello!

Yeah mine too. When people ask if I have a Harley I say "Do you have a Rolls?" Harleys break down. All the time. Well known fact. Been to a Harley Rally in Nevada and all the way back to LA were broken down Harleys. And I have ridden one in Arizona so Foxtrot Oscar!

Also have a tshirt that says on the back "If you can read this the bitch just passed you." Another that says "Does this Bike make my Butt look big?" Would like one that says on the back "If you can read this the bastard fell off." But then what idiots ride in tshirts! Not me.

"Well if pregnancy was a permanent condition, it would be surplus to requirements, but luckily it's not. And I'm quite looking forward to pursuing motherhood with a motorbike. Life isn't about to end." Good for you!!!!!! I know someone who was riding motorcycles till about 2 weeks before she sprogged. Sproglet is now a young motorcyclist himself and we think the humming of the engine beneath him when he was in mum's tum must have played its role. Very comforting sound! (Not a Ducati, obviously....) I hope you find somewhere safe and secure to lock motorcycle away for the four days either side of sprogging and that it all goes well for you!! I shall make some stickers for your bike that say "Children in Panniers" soon as I can! :)

I am sorry to read this, it is a sad sight to see a bike on its side. Is yours one of the few bikes tied to a lamppost outside Honor Oak Mansions? I often wonder how those bikes are not constantly ticketed for parking on the pavement. I do hope it was not damaged and I hope you find a suitable alternative to the parking arrangements!

I did a BBC job the other month. Had to be on location six a m in north west London. Luckily have motorcycle so got there easy and was allowed to park outside whilst all other actors were not allowed to park their cars around the area and the tube and bus was a good 15 mins walk. Great catering and good breakfasts for everyone which is right and fair since most had to work hard. Left the job nine pm, and had had a good lunch and evening meal and drinks available throughout. The crew and make up and so on had to be there earlier and later than me to set up and clear up. I got paid ?180. My agent took 20% plus 17.5% VAT and the employer took about ?50 for my National insurance contributions. My agent also decided to deduct ?50 towards my annual fee for appearing on their website. So my ?180 turned into a cheque paid 3 months later for ?94. I have to pay my own taxes also, from the initial ?180. Make of all that what you will. But I don't earn much (didn't even have to pay tax last year) and yet like every single other person on that set, we are all trained experienced and dedicated to making the best television programmes in the world. So there!

I thought it was about headache type pain. Or the pain of stubbing your toe! I'm an actor, and I wouldn't go for this even if they DID pay me. Ha!

Several years ago when the petrol shortage was going on, people were fighting in the forecourts. Over petrol. I think we seem to be civil only when it suits us. I think it is easy to say most people are good, unless they have been brought up racist etc. My Mum would appear to most people to be lovely and kind and so on, but she is racist and also hates Germans. And Japanese people. She lost relatives in the war, and her parents were racists and they all read Sun and Mail. But we all have reasons for not being perfect, don't we? It all starts off with parents though. I was lucky I worked out that it is irrational to hate Germans and Japanese and black people etc. I just hate traffic wardens, but I don't care what colour their skin is! How can it be that people can walk past someone who is clearly suffering in the street, as evidenced by someone who posted on here a few weeks ago, saying they were in agony with a punctured lung. People just walk past those who are suffering. How can that be considered as most people being decent?

It is an interesting point though because I like how some women think like men but rarely vice versa, so I agree that I try and reply on the quality (or lack of) the post, rather than making assumptions, or forgiving them because maybe they're just a lady having a bad time of the month...

I am getting fit. I am trying to, anyway. So I dug out the lateral thigh trainer with optional upper body power cords and the DVD of my old friend who has not changed a bit in the last year since I last exercised with her, Brenda Dysart, encouraging me with a simple workout. After five mins into the workout, the optional upper body powercords bloody well snapped and I smashed myself in the chin. Question: WHY has this happened when I was trying to be good! Grrrr

PhoneSouthwark Environment dept 020 7525 2000 and ask them. They may say they can't recycle it, but if enough people phoned to ask, they would have to work something out!

I have a hard time trying to work out my spirituality because as an atheist I just can't explain or understand what it means. Edited to add: I had an out of body experience when I was a very very sick little girl and close to death. But I am sure I remember from a documentary somewhere that scientists can now induce the feeling and experience of the white light that some people who are close to death report seeing, the implication being, I think, that everything we experience may be able (if it has not been already) to be explained scientifically. Just as thunderstorms and rainbows have been. Have tried to read all the pages on this thread; there are some very interesting knowledgeable people out there on this here forum and I have learned a lot from you all by reading them. My answer to the OP though is still a "NO!"
