  1. Do they still have to have religious worship every day?
  2. You are so knowledgeable about Football DJQK! if you get your women's team going and good you could go places!
  3. I agree. it's an odd questionnaire and I bet they won't get many recommendations for Melbourne Grove! Also the receptionists in so many areas are not good in UK. We don't have that friendly service How Can I Help You ethos they have in say USA. My dentists receptionist is THE rudest unfriendly sounding person and the dentists know it because I make them listen to her when she's answering phonecalls! The receptionist at St Thomas's I complained about on their open day l;ast weekend because she was rude to someone who was asking a question she did not know the answer to, and when he asked again if she might at least make a suggestion, she blew her top! Frightening really.
  4. What does Academy mean? What's wrong with 'School'? It's like "Foundation Trust", when we just want a 'Hospital'. SOOO much money being wasted on branding and PR and advertising and meetings and - no wonder it's all going downhill! (Note to self, do not post when depressed or ill.!)
  5. ....the fur industry. .... the whale industry. etc etc .... not being able to work out why my darling ten year old cat has decided to start peeing on the carpet. No, she's not ill, we had her checked out at Vets. She's not stressed, what can it be. .....not being able to breathe well. Which is the case this morning. :(
  6. bluey thank you. I was just gonna write all that! Southwark take it VERY seriously. Why do you think there was that thread a year or so ago when someone dripping his cigarette stub got fined ?70 and whinged on here about it. Yes, phone or write or email Southwark envionrment department.
  7. Tell your neighbour to tell the police, if she has not already.
  8. Oh please. Look at all the signs around the place. Yes, Irish festival next weekend.
  9. Thanks Karrie. Wonder if the moderator boss could put this information somewhere for all folks to find it?
  10. I am sad there were some unfriendly unsupportive and downright upsetting responses to your initial post, but nevertheless I do agree with the point that you can not hope to achieve anyrhing by posting here when you don't say what road you were talking about. Please report this to your local safer neighbourhood team and come along to the next police ward panel to ask them what their response is. All such imformation is avaulable if you search around. A horrible experience to have gone through, and I am very sorry you had to go through it.
  11. Look on the website, dear Friends! Southwark's website.
  12. Watch 9 1/2 weeks and offer, no - tell her - she is to come for an evening round your place for some food...
  13. I know who I am, too.
  14. It's a good idea a green sticker. I'm gonna go out wearing a green sticker on my jacket. Let's see who notices when I am wondering around ED!
  15. Thanks ianr for the link - indeed I am getting about 2mg :( When I have 2 hours spare I shall indeed telephone BT Sales and demand to know why I am paying for such a poort deal. Someone else I know got cut off and then when being put back on, was offered all sorts of goodies, so we all need to make those demands for all the money we're paying! If I weren't so professionally attached to my email addresses and phone numbers I would def go with Virgin Cable. I've heard nowt but good things. But I will stand up for the BT technical advisors. All very very polite and knowledgeable people in Mumbai or somewhere who always fix the problems, the few times I've had them. Another good thing I would say about BT internet is that it filters all my spam. Every time I go in to my web based mail and see the spam folder, I am impressed at what they caught. I get all the right stuff into my Outlook Express!
  16. My thoughts are you should have started a new post because I just read through the lot without looking at the dates! Hey, get to know all your neighbours, be nice, and be glad you don't live in Clapham. Or Alston. Or Norfolk. Be 'appy!
  17. I got it. And I watched the last half last night, like others of you watched Inspector Linley and realised I was at Youth Theatre with Nat Parker's wife. I remember going to a party at her house when I was about 19 and her parents are well loaded and lived in a massive hise orf Spencer Park. I got well drunk and threw up all over the place. Peckham Finishing School - I turned on just as the white scary looking one seemed to be the last to tell her heavy story to everyone. Then later she had a go at one of the posh girls for saying she had drawn the short straw for ending up with the scary one. It would seem the posh girls can do no right and the Peckham girls are all blameless victims being dissed.
  18. It is certainly true that I have recognised 2 EDFers from here, one was Legal - um, whatever her name was when she changed it from ChavWivALawDegree. And true when I am in the park or Lordship Lane I often wonder how many are. I am thinking of making a badge saying "I am an EDFer, can you guess which one?"
  19. The exchange is your phone number, ie 020 7639 xxxx - so the 7639 or the 8299 in your case, maybe, is the exchange. 7639 (Peckham and New Cross) as is 7635) were one of the first exchanges to get broadband at 500kb and now it is still only about 2 to 3mb according to my tests, anyway!
  20. Yes, Louisa, what he (the above) said! I am a good person, trained, experienced biker and never smug - always try to learn from mistakes, first aid trained. All bikers are humans too, just as are selfish badly trained idiot red-light jumping bus drivers. Don't make such stupid ignorant generalisations or we will think of you as a stupid ignorant person. See what I did there twice?
  21. 'Sadly' it's a no brainer? SADLY? It's a great way to get around and people like Louisa are to be ignored. Motorcycle it, and then when you get to work you've already had a motorcycle ride that day. And no more passing round colds and flu on public transport!
  22. That is so sad! In about 1990 I went to an XTC convention in Manchester and the organiser knew him and got him to do a gig for us. He played some XTC and his rendition of We're Only Making Plans for Little Nigel was one of the funniest things I have ever heard.
  23. Doncha just love this forum?!
