Your choice of GP practice: a consultation on how to enable to register with the GP practice of their choice. I got this through being on a Patient Involvement email list. So for those of you who rightly complain about your GP practices in East Dulwich, read the thing and go to the meeting to discuss it.

BT Vision did a similar thing. When they phoned and told me my annual contract was coming to an end I said ok I'll resubscribe for less money and they took about a tenner off I think. We Have The Power.

BY THE WAY - and I'll post it in the What's On Section - the Community Council meet is Monday 21st June 7pm Mary Magdalene school 48 Brayards Road SE15. So go along and tell 'em.

There's a Community Council meeting Wednesday, why don't you all go and ask the councillors what is going on?

New outdoor gym at Peckham Rye Park
PeckhamRose replied to Louisa's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
And I just pass the 'gym'. As quickly as possible. But not quick enough to make it look like I'm exercising... Some things should definitely be done in the privacy of one's home. Lifting the cat is my exercise. She's porking it a bit. -
It's fabulous and a lot of us often congregate there for to see the New Year's fireworks or 5 November fireworks from all over the town!

Dulwich Medical Centre... bunch of ####s
PeckhamRose replied to sack donger's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Am so sorry to read this and no, not all doctor's surgeries treeat their patients with such disrespect. Ask if there is a patient forum at the surgery and join it. Southwark PCT people often attend. And if all else fails, when you are allowed to choose surgeries outside your immediate area, come to Nunhead Grove Surgery on Nunhead Grove, in... Nunhead! They insist on keeping their 020 number AND using real people to answer the phones. And I am on their patient forum and they're brilliant. -

What is the latest on the new hospital in ED?
PeckhamRose replied to apmuso's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Why go to Dulwich for a blood test? I have to have them and have appointments made for Kings and rarely have to wait longer than half an hour, including fasting tests. -
Will English take over the whole world?
PeckhamRose replied to citizenED's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I think it would be a great thing, mainly because I speak English. I think we should only have one currency too! -
When I get work doing what I trained to do and love as an actor, it is nothing but pleasure which is why so many of us will do it for free. When I get work doing humanist funeral celebrant work, it is an honour - the money is less than hourly wage so I certainly don't do it for the money. When I am doing my other occasional work which means I get to go round all of London on my motorcycle, the work itself is not so much fun but the motorcycling and seeing so much of different corners of all of London is brilliant. Let's see - what else do I do for work - oh that'll do for now. Being self employed does have its advantages!

Yeah! The originals! Not their sons who gigged about 10 years ago either!

Osmonds, I think, though it may have been David Essex. And RosieH you're still cool. And I never was and hope never to be!

And yes, bring cakes, and wear a business suit but flowers in your hair. Confuse but charm. I read some NLP books, they do have their uses but when it comes down to it, I agree with the fight bullshit with bullshit approach! (Which in a way is very NLP!)

Exactly, she's no LEADER, she's a follower, and Yes they bring it up all the time but she did put her kids through private school. And that means her heart is not left wing. She is also an ingratiating media tart and is too on the defensive.

Couple of sharp nails/screws dropped in front of their tyres as they get off to post the fine on the 'victim' vehicle. The Scum.

MM I have met you and respect you. My cynicism is born out of the fact that some very good friends of mine are suffering greatly as a result of cuts already in place - mental health 'care' for starters. And the fact that nobody who is well off wants to lose anything but their voices are always heard and the bottom big percentage of the population are having - as always - to support the top few percent, either through taxes, and prescriptions charges in my case (unable to afford them all yet not eligible for free prescriptions even though I earned so little I don't have to pay tax next year) or being in work but being paid very poorly whilst big business managers are paid correspondingly too much. The Blair government - of all the governments there could have been - who arrived with so much positivity and hope - let us all down. And a lot of people are suffering. So many people with talents and abilities and most importantly experience, find themselves unable to contribute to society to the betterment of us all. Of course we must not look to government to save us, but we do not need to be made to suffer more when we have done what we could and had it taken away from us. There are a lot of people worse off than me and I try and remind myself of that every day as I take the five out of six different medications I can afford to take(!) but I know that my voice is never heard. I do my best. When I received a letter from my MP after the election thanking me for returning her to office, I wrote to her with my own concerns which were not just for me but for others too. But she is not in government now, and I doubt any of the likes of us will have our concerns heard. If I genuinely felt we were all going to have to suffer equally then fine, but those already suffering and living below poverty levels (I'm not there yet) know that there are many people who fear facing cuts of a few thou in their salaries, but it will just mean they will have to cut back to two holidays a year. There are I believe 17 millionaires in the current new front benches.

My beloved Clockhouse has four damn screens up, even Locale are showing it FFS. So which pub is NOT and I'll go there.
