  1. Reading this thread from the beginning - oh you lot are so clever. I have a laptop on Windows XP. I use Google. It All Works.
  2. I loved Ac/Dc and saw them a few times too, and Motorhead, but Diamondhead are on my turntable at the moment. Well, not actually playing right now, but still there from last night. And before that I had on dear old Michael Schenker. Later I may dig out some Hanoi Rocks, they are somewhere between Groundhogs and Icehouse, but only alphabetically speaking.
  3. Isn't there a specialist department at our own very wonderful Kings College Hospital dealing with this? Get a referral from your doctor but do NOT go see Mr Whitehead at Gynae department. He is a bully and very rude.
  4. Rules is what happened. Like, this should be in the AboutTheForum section ;)
  5. No! Leave now! Buy a SpyPenCamera!
  6. "thrown" hahaha Meanwhile, under the existing right wing Labour Government, the public sector has made it hell for people remember, we already had a right wing government. Friend of a friend of mine who is a social services leader finds three departments merging into one and she has to reapply for her own job. With ALL of her experience and usefulness to society her job is so badly paid she qualifies for key worker accommodation, and the mortgage is tied to that. So if she fails to get her own job, she loses her home. And now we have Cameron!
  7. I'm happy. Hardly any paid work, yet lots of unpaid work, a roof over my head, food in the fridge and petrol in both bike tanks. And someone who loves me. I'm happy. I Could say scared but happy, anxious but happy, naive but happy, grumpy but happy, worried about my financial future but happy now, but it's all those. But I am happy.
  8. I'd own square plates if - when pouring gravy - sorry, jus on to my plate - it went into the shape of a square. But physics don't work like that. The only advantage is storage space.
  9. kpc Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Didn't realise Bon Scott's demise was in Overhill > Road. On his OWN vomit, mind you. Wonderful map.
  10. "Pay ?5000 more to live on this side of the road". LOVE this and thanks for the link, am now going to the exhibition!
  11. I know what you mean but he did make it clear that he was asking people to vote for the person, rather than the party they represented, because he knew them well enough to know they'd be good for the area. When / if they were MPs he would probably not suggest we vote for them. Also, indeed he is not a member of any political party anymore.
  12. LibDem hold ED (so said Southwark News via Twitter on Facebook!)
  13. I am trying to find the council election results! All swamped by MPs!
  14. I received a perfectly sensible letter from him stating his opinion on voting for people and not parties. He had given up his membership of the Labour Party when he stood down from being a Councillor, and was of the best most active and useful local councillors I have known and been represented by, since I moved here 27 years ago. He really cared. So having given up his party political status he wanted to advise on individuals who would best serve us (he lives up the road from me) and our immediate area. I thought it a reasonable thing to do.
  15. Well instead of a kid, next time get a guard dog! Sorry it happened, but really it could have happened anywhere, even posh places like Chelsea. In fact if I was a thief SE15 is the last place I'd go to.
  16. Erasing David was absolutely amazing and upsetting at the same time. Along the same lines as the film Taking Liberties, by Chris Atkins. I am so confused as to who to vote for, because everything I assumed would be something the Tories would do or be responsible for, has been done by Blair's Labour Party (GBrown is merely a number 2 and still is, really, except now he's a number 2 to his cabinet).
  17. I loved Spooks because the lead was a woman, a blond attractive woman at that, played by an actress who could act, and I'm thick enough never to see plots even though I am a writer. Luther was so way over sold which put me off and I also did not like Idris on J Ross, for various reasons, but I shall watch it on the playback thing on me BT Vision but only because of the above references! (When I am not watching each and every episode from my Persuaders DVD!)
  18. She did not go into much detail about the Humanist Secular Religion question, maybe because in the end the composited question was just a little too vague!
  19. Phew, I often work evenings and depending on my mood I either come home via there, or go to Asda (Part Of The Walmart Family...) on Old Kent Road... So glad I still have that choice!
  20. SO why not put his address on the ring or a phone number?
  21. Note to self, if ever I have a parrot TEACH IT TO KNOW ITS ADDRESS! Poor thing! It seems to like you and not be afraid. If I see any posters citing lost parrot I'll let you know
  22. How funny! My mates who live outside London assume it's either all like OF&Horses (and this area is not a cockney area) or all full of gangsters and frightened unhappy black kids as was made out when Damilola Taylor died. When they come to stay with me and see how beautiful some of it is and with fabulous architecture, and gems like Choumert Square etc, as well as how friendly people are when you break the ice and talk with them, they end up being quite envious I live in such a great area of London! Incidentally, in Rye Lane two days ago I was walking along and my right foot collapsed to the right either by going on an uneven paving stone or something else. Two elderly black ladies immediately caught me preventing me from falling over and were SOOOOOO lovely and caring. I nearly passed out with the pain and they stayed with me and helped me into Iceland where the manager got me, guess what, a bag of Iceland Ice. Thank you again to these lovely and VERY quick acting ladies. I sat for about half an hour then got a bus home. My right ankle is now black and blue and twice its size. Back to topic. NEVER seen anyone saying they were on a tourist trip of Peckham, but on Peckham Society walks there are sometimes people who are members but don't live here anymore, who come in just to go on the walk. And they are great walks often led by Peter Frost or one of the architect-members.
  23. On the SE15 side of the park I agree I have had FAR TOO MUCH LibDem leaflet. I am thinking of renaming my letterbox "Recycle here", as the leaflets are going straight in the recycling. Had a few labour ones, no Tory (why would they!) one Green (utter tosh stuff) and a Workers Socialist Party about which I commented elsewhere. Who wants my vote then!
  24. There's another thread for the performance of the 'leaders'. Jenny Jones: HA, if she came a-knocking on my door she'd have a shock. She fought long and hard against the idea that motorcyclists should be allowed to ride in the TfL bus lanes. Boris had said he would do this, as part of his manifesto, and by heck he actually did it! And there has been no carnage. When J Jones was banging on about why not, I emailed her and asked her what her problem was, she replied (and I kept the email): "bikers are scary for us". Very scientific reason there, then. I think I have to vote Labour, even though i hate their biometric ID card thing. They're more right wing in some ways than Cameron who has said he'd get rid of the idea (for now!) of biometric ID cards. Ho hum. I need to change my doorbell sound to that of a Ducati Monster with bad exhaust pipes starting up. That'll scare those Greens off.
