Why mariage is good (for the country / economy)
PeckhamRose replied to Marmora Man's topic in The Lounge
Marriage is not a religious thing, but I understand was merely a formal arrangement to protect the women when the fishermen didn't come from from fishing trips. Religious folk have taken it over. Politicians who realise how powerful the religious thing is use it to bash us over the head with even though there seems to be no evidence that monogamy is a natural need. We only got married because of the pension rights having lived together 18 years. We'd have had a Humanist wedding too had it been legal in England. We had to go to Southwark Registry Office. We did not tell anyone so no money was spent. Marriage is not necessarily good for the economy but it is good for us all to be in identifiable units so we can be monitored more easily by governments. My thoughts for what they're worth! -

I just posted something in the Wanted section - if anyone can help we'd be so grateful. Thank you. -

Thank you. Those two days are taking longer and longer to begin since MrPR got it and reinfected me! But I agree, we shall be strict about this. -
Well I shocked myself when I got my results. In each of the four subjects I voted a different party's policy. Now what the blinking flip do I do? None of them were Labour!!! (None were BNP tho, phew!)

And now MrPR has it and I'm not well enough to look after him oh CRAP CRAP CRAP -
A spray can of 1 cal frying spray. It's use by date was 2004. However, I know for a fact I only bought it last year! Heinz Macaroni cheese is delicious by the way. Specially when you're poorly.

The original Firkin was called the Goose. It was on the junction of Southwark Bridge Road and something else by the railway bridges. Dogbolter. Oh I Loved That Beer. David Bruce had a job and made beer in his bath in his spare time, so the story goes. He got made redundant and opened the Goose with the redundancy pay. The 80s were good for some folks! The beer was marvellous and all the names of the pubs were either F or Ph, except the first, the Goose. Happy to be corrected but that's the story as I understood it. Anyway, how is that pub being affected by the Strata? (I think it closed down tho, didn't it? The Firkin still is called the Firkin in Lewisham I think, but Friary Meux bought the chain and then sold it on to someone else.)

Anyone lost a dog? Around Ryedale / Underhill Road
PeckhamRose replied to rbarton's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
A suggestion. When he's a bit happier and settled and you take him for a walk, take him to some parks and see if anyone recognises him and ask them if they knew his owner, or see if he 'leads' you to his old home from the park, probably Peckham Rye Park. Also see if there are any posters on the trees looking for him. I'm a bit housebound at the mo so can't check for you but it may be an idea. -
I love it. View from our window means we can now ID exactly where E&C is. We can see Wembley Arch and I think we can see the stub that is the beginnings of Shard. But I love the Strata. And there is a sort of little mini stub Strata next to it which looks weird.

Is that you saying I'm fat? Like I NEED to lose weight? Clearly we've not met. woofmarkthedog Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Tell me..... > > > Honestly there's a bit of pride on your part, > right ? > > All that weight you've shat off & no dieting > > Feeling shite but looking buff > > It's a fair trade off > > > W**F -

Ahh interesting - I never go to the family room so did not know this. A whole family getting it yeuch. But the NHS advises to stay at home for two days after you're better as you may still be infectious in that time. -

Stop Having Babies to Save the Planet ?
PeckhamRose replied to m7post's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yep, I'm one. Never wanted kids. And four of my closest female friends never wanted kids either. Nor did we have them. Like attracts like, though. So please don't tar us all with the same brush. I know many men however who do want kids and not just the sex, and I ended relationships with past b/f because they wanted me to do the breeding thing. As for the topic, if the humans that exist were doing good in the world and all taking responsibility for their actions then there may not be such a massive problem. Eugenics, an answer that dare not speak its name!? By mentioning that link I am not saying I agree with its contents. -

Very sweet of you raymond! I am on the mend. I posted this to see if there is any particular ED or Peckham outbreak, so felt it was ED specific at least, but off to the lounge it went. -
Hi Been out of whack for 2 days with the dreaded Norovirus. It's a pig of a virus, but helps prove the statistic that humans are 90% water. I am now down to about 35%. So, who else has had it? Is it particularly prevalent in East Dulwich / Peckham at the moment? Apparently there is a lot of it going around but everyone always says that! No idea where I got it from - but it is easy to catch even by just touching an infected surface. Fortunately MrPR has guts of steel and he's been able to look after me. Aghhhh - quick off to the toi...

Well for this woman it is the day the first hot flush hits. Dammit. Still lookin' fabulous though.

There are plenty of city hives. One on a tower block in Brixton! They don't have to be big at all.

I went on the Walworth Garden Bee Keeping Course as mentioned above, last year. It was wonderful! And free! Do google it and see if you can go along. City Bee Keepers are being actively encouraged as the city bees are doing better than their country cousins. I live in a 3rd floor flat with too small a back balcony and I don't think my neighbours would approve if I kept bees, but if you applied for a Cleaner Greener Safer award you might be able to set up somewhere and make a professional go of it. I wish you well!

speeding in ryedale (is anyone also concerned)
PeckhamRose replied to green army's topic in The Lounge
It won't go away! As long as stupid and dangerous drivers and people who take no responsibility for themselves exist, resulting in all of us being targetted, it simply won't go away. Why, what do you want to see happen? -
wanted: intelligent single man for date with my friend

Hetero man working in the theatre? Just kidding, but even so! -
