  1. I don't believe I wasted people's time posting about this, Michael. Many of my ward residents use the train services from Peckham Rye (first 63/363 bus) and Nunhead Station. The current rail/tube interchange at Elephant and Castle is appalling. There are places where rail/tube interchanges work, but not here! I'm wondering if, as the Bakerloo Line extention will go under the Old Kent Road if there is a possibility that the station is moved closer to the National Rail and Northern Line. The other possible link is southbound to Lewisham from the Southwark Stations (if Elephant and Castle interchange improvements are not possible). Is there going to be a good interchange between Lewisham Rail and the tube? (this isn't mentioned at all in the consultation, I think this is really important) I think if the Lewisham interchange is good, an increased frequency on the Victoria to Dartford Service will be required eg to 4 an hour to cope with extra demand. Lewisham like Peckham Rye is in Zone 2 & 3 so there wouldn't be cost involved in going Southbound. Renata
  2. Hi EMC, from where you live, from previous years, I would expect you to be offered Deptford Green or Harris Girls' on offer day. If you'd had a son, St Thomas the Apostle or Harris Boys' would also be in the mix. Kingsdale as you know it's random allocation, ie low chance! This is the school allocation mix that children living in the area seem to have got this year too. The Lewisham Schools no long have bands with varying last distance offers between bands. Going on what happened last year, some children got waiting list places for Sydenham Girls' , new Charter (and Forest Hill Boys'). I can't find this years' last placed distances for these schools. Haberdashers' have put up their last place distance on their website, it's only 666m. Southwark residents from the part of Borough close to Nunhead station ie a very small area may have secured a space there. As Nunheadmum mentions, Deptford Green has been very popular among Nunhead parents over the last few years. If it's not one you have applied to you could ask Admissions to be added to it's waiting list. You can also find out your waiting list positions for your top 5 choices. As I mentioned above in this thread, you can't turn down your current offer unless you have an alternative. Renata
  3. Hi Fred, I'm glad it went smoothly! Renata
  4. Hi Serraecho, do you live in LB Lewisham? If so you need to contact Admissions and Appeals Team Third Floor Laurence House 1 Catford Road SE6 4RU Tel: 020 8314 8282 Email: [email protected] Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9am?12 noon From previous years, I think Lewisham won't give you much information for a couple of weeks until acceptances come in and there is the initial movement on the waiting lists. Something you should be able to do is add your name onto waiting lists of schools you didn't initially apply to. You will automatically be on the waiting list for your original preferences. Renata
  5. Hi all, Secondary school admissions - 2017 headlines The data below relates to Southwark residents only. ? All Southwark secondary school, on-time applicants have been offered a school place for September 2017. ? 2,614 (93.7%) applicants have received a place at a secondary school of their first to sixth preference ? 2,453 (87.9%) applicants have received a place at a secondary school of their first to third preference ? 1,789 (64.1% ) families received a first preference school. ? 176 (6.3%) families without a preference have been offered an alternative school. ? 2,777 (99.5%) of Southwark applicants applied online this year Renata
  6. Hi all, I have had a response about this. There is no issue with using a hire vehicle and not having the number plates. You need to fill in the form and state it's a hire vehicle. As well as your proof of residence bring along your hire documents with you to the recycling centre. Renata
  7. Hi Emc, I'm sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the outcome of your school application. You can't decline a school unless you have alternative provision, ie you get a place elsewhere. You will be on the waiting list for all your higher ranked schools and there is movement on all waiting lists right up until September, so you may be lucky and your child may be offered a place at a higher ranked school. You can also request that your child be placed on the waiting list for other schools you haven't applied for via CAF. Renata
  8. Hi all, just to say I reading all your thoughts and comments and I will relay them to officers. I don't believe there is scope for major changes to the set up at the moment. This would only be feasible at the point at which the Aylsham Centre redevelopment occurs. There could however be scope for interim measures to improve the site for cyclists and pedestrians. Thanks Renata
  9. Hi all, I hope everyone has offers they are happy with. I am currently on a coach,so it's a bit awkward for me to add attachments etc. I will be available tomorrow daytime if anyone needs some assistance (I have a meeting in the evening) Renata
  10. Hi Fred, As I don't know the procedure with hire vehicles I have put in an enquiry with the Reuse and Recycling Centre. Once I get a response I will post it on here Renata

  12. I've put in my submission. Renata
  13. Hi Sally, sorry about that, I've just deleted several messages so you can pm me now. The better alternative is probably to email me. I've attached my details below. Renata
  14. They have a branch near Crofton Park station
  15. Hi Sally, are you one of the shared owners? What Wandle have said at all the meetings I've attended, is that the remaining tenants from 42 and 44 will move into the vacated apartments in 40 and 46(ie those that have been sold back to Wandle). Only a handful of the original shared owners from 40 & 46 will be moving back in to Solomon's Passage. I don't know what the tenure will be of the rebuilt 42/44 (I'm not sure if Wandle do either as some of the tenants are moving elsewhere). Hi Malleymoo. Due to the serious nature of the flaws affecting 42 and 44, they need to be rebuilt. 40 and 46 are to be refurbished/repaired. I know it's been horrendous for everyone affected. Yesterday was the first time I saw the plans for the new buildings too (I couldn't attend the meeting earlier this month as I had a meeting clash). They are not yet in the planning system. When they are submitted, you and your neighbours will be able to comment on them via the Southwark planning portal on the Southwark website. A council officer will be allocated to the case. The plans can be approved/turned down by the designated officer or can be decided by a Planning Committee. Ward Councillors can call applications in to be decided by committee. Renata
  16. Thanks Sally. I've just spoken to Thames Water and have further details. Homestall Road will not be closed for through traffic during the works (one side at a time). Due to the location (close to Harris Girls' School) works won't start until after school hours on the 10th. If they are not completed on the 10th, they should be completed on the 11th. Renata
  17. delays this evening due to the storm Renata
  18. Hi Cazz, I've checked the planning database and can find nothing on there at the moment. Renata
  19. to my knowledge, those shared owners returning to Solomon's passage will be returning to their original flats once works are completed on blocks 40 and 46. Renata
  20. Hi Sally and Peckham Rye. I've just spoken to a member of the Wandle Staff to get up to date information. Half of the leasehold/shared ownership residents of 40 and 46 have completed sale back to Wandle with the rest due to complete by the end of March. A few are returning to Solomon's Passage once works are completed and will be in temporary rented accomodation until then. Of the residents of 42 and 44, some have moved into temporary rented accomodation (will return to Solomon's Passage) and some are going to move to other Wandle properties (permanently). Information on the timeline and the redevelopment of the site of 42 and 44 can be found here:- https://www.wandle.com/solomons-passage/ Renata
  21. Hi Nunheadmum, Most schools have their induction days in the sumnmer term after SATs. A couple have extra induction sessions at the end of July. I don't know of any with August inductions. You would need, however to check the start of term dates for all the schools you applied for as academies/VAs (all Southwark secondaries and some Lewisham ones) set their own dates and the year 7s may start before the returning classes (eg Haberdashers start on 31st August for year 7s). Renata
  22. Hi Ian, I have emailed you. I have raised an enquiry with waste services and hopefully this will be resolved quickly. Renata
  23. Hi all, to update, the road is to be repaired by Thames Water, please see the below. 14 February 2017 Our Ref: 33293338 Homestall Road Dear Councillor Hamvas Thank you for raising concerns regarding the reinstatement of Homestall Road following the recent repair. I am very sorry for the quality of the reinstatement and I understand residents? disappointment given the delays in repairing the leak. I can confirm that we have inspected the reinstatement work completed in Homestall Road. We have determined that it does not meet the criteria set by the Highway Authorities and Utilities Committee (HAUC) Code of Practice. This agreement sets out the agreed standards all utility companies should abide by when carrying out work on the road network. We have instructed our reinstatement team to return and complete the work needed to bring it up to the agreed standard. This is currently being planned by the team. I have asked Michael Flynn, a Senior Case Manager in our Executive Office to monitor our progress until the work has been completed. He will contact you as soon as the date for the work has been confirmed, but will update you again by 21 February at the latest Yours sincerely Laura Edwards Local & Regional Government Liaison
  24. I think think has now been sorted out. If there are any more problem (CD or someone else) please contact me. Thanks Renata
