FBCS CITP I have never poured scorn on anyone on this Forum. There are always people cleverer than me as I lose track of new technology. Being now unemployed / retired I like to share what knowledge I have . I have just offered my advice. This might not always of been a solution to a problem. But maintainance is always a sequence of proceedures to narrow down options to a final solution to a problem. Maintainance was always the bug bear of telecoms companys because it did not produce a profit. Contruction engingeers installing new systems made money/profit. people do not like paying for things that should already be working.. so many things can be fixed by individuals for free with just a little help. It does not cost anything to fix most problems, only a persons time. Sometimes this time is invaluable and justified and I am not saying that these people do not deserve what they charge. It is like anything. If you need a builder or a plumber, then you have to pay. But building , plumbing , electrical installation requires quallifications and computer maintenance does not. so anyone can learn. Fox.
  2. I have forgoten more about computers than many people know but I like to help people and do not charge 40 quid to press a few buttons. so I tend to upset a few people. Fox

Is this not the case? That may be true of the initial sale.. But not of subseqent sale. Also private landlords buying up property to re-let at high rents also with poor up-keep Like I say, it's a difficult one. Fox.

The big Problem is that many Local Councils do not have the Money to maintain the housing it still owns. Much of Social Housing is in a poor state of repair. At least most of housing that has been bought Privately is well maintained and habitable. So a difficult one. Fox
  8. So now we all know where to buy Weed, Pick up women/men, Dump our Rubbish.. Abandon / Burn out unwanted vehicles. Very Useful thread... ;-) Fox
  9. I was in Kings a year or so back. The Ward opposite me had an outbtreak of Norovirus and was closed down to be Cleansed... Patients were then moved to another Ward. I seem to remember visiting was restricted and visitors had to wear masks and gowns. I would recommend you call the hospital ( I'm assuming he is in Hospital ??) for advice. Fox.

I think you missed my point. If it needs explaining, Well it would be like having to explain the punch line of a joke. So I won't bother explaining it. Fox
  13. As Post Offices are closed down. So called Post Office Locals are to open in Shops and Pubs. This means people will be able to draw benefits whilst in the Pub. Great Idea or Not ???? I just cannot believe it. For Fox sake
  14. Bottled water will usually contain added minerals Pottery cup Ok. Depends on type of tea. Builders tea. Brewed in large Metal Teapot (Cafe) or Tea Urn. Left on heat for hours to 'stew' Stand your spoon up in it. Takes the roof off your mouth. :)) Fox
  15. Hi Laddy Muck The Secret to a good cup of Tea... 1. Use Good Loose Tea or Good Tea Bags. 2. Make Tea in a pot. (Warm Pot First) 3. Use Filtered Water. 4. Boil Water for a full minute. Kettles that cut-out not good. 5. Pour Boiling water over tea. (in pot) 6. Give Tea 2-3 Mins. to brew. 7. Serve Tea in China Cup. Not a Mug. (Mugs are for builders tea.) 8. Add Sugar to taste. Optional. 9. Add milk last. Stir. 10. Enjoy your Tea. Fox.

  17. Hi silversurfer65 After your machine ends it's cycle there will allways be a time delay before you can open the door. This will be up to 5 mins. or even longer if a washer dryer drying cycle has been done. This to allow time for the machine to cool down and prevent you burning yourself on the glass part of the door. It is posible you have a thermostat problem that is causing the door release mechanism to mal function. Just a thought ... Tech. Fox
  18. Always buy Genuine Ink Cartridges.. Refilled Cartridges will usually have different colouration to the original. They are often not fully filled so a false economy. There may be residule sludge from the old ink, which can damage your delicate printer ink nozzles. Good place to buy Ink is. Ink2U ***They sell Genuine and refilled cartridges. (stick with the genuine) Fast reliable next day service. Contactable friendly helpfull service. I have used them for years. Fox
  19. WW1 2 Minutes Silence The silence represents the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918, when the guns of Europe fell silent. This silence is marked by the firing of a field gun on Horse Guards Parade to begin and end the silence. The Silence gives us all a moment to relect on lost commrades and lost family members and is a sign of respect. I feel that a Minutes Silence should be just that. Every Individual being able to privately show their Respect and Reflect on there memories of anyone passed on. Refs Whistle to start and end the Silence Loud Applause should be used to Break that silence. That would be a nice touch. Just my view Fox

  23. There are Tens of Thousands of Historic Photos in archives of London and likewise anywhere. Many of these were taken by Amature Photographers. These pictures are an invaluable source of History and Education. If we are to be told we cannot take photos of our streets and buildings, in 50 , 100 years time, there will be no historic records of our Towns and Cities as they are today. This will be a great loss, and a very sad situation. Fox
  24. Anyone here been asked to move on when taking Photographs.. It seems to me happening more and more.. I was asked to move on taking Photographs a couple of years back in Borough Market early evening summer time.. despite dozens of others also taking photographs. I was using Profesional Nikon Equipment but only with a Short Lens.. A Market Warden approached me and told me I must move on. Evidently, as I was standing still whilst I took my picture I was causing an obstuction. Foxed Fox
