They have been to me on many occasions... They are always well dressed Suited and Booted... It's a scam (True that grants are available to insulate your loft..) But.... The scam is that they will tell you about the Grant Scheme.. Tell you that most of the people they have seen in your street have already taken advantage of the scheme.. Dispite most houses in your street are probably already insulated.. Then say they have one of there suveyors inspecting another house in your street and could see to you next. If you then say no.. they get very persistant... Just ask them why theyare so keen to help you... The next stage is to persued you to sign up ... Their builders will do the job. ??? (does it need doing) They will Quote you an Inflated price. But tell you not to worry because you will be able to claim it All back.. You Won't.. You need to contact your Local Authority before any work starts.. Fox.

16,699 Views 167 posts on this subject.. When will people realize someone out there is seeking attention and is getting it here on this Forum. (Probably think they are some kind of Banksy) I Guarantee that someone is enjoying this attention by reading these comments and that if people stop posting or the thread is Closed/Deleted.. the problem will stop. I'd add any other rubbish to that. It most certainly is a problem the council needs to deal with... Community Wardens Reducing environmental crime Wardens help to improve the environment by identifying and reporting litter, graffiti, fly tipping and abandoned vehicles to the council's cleansing services. The monitoring of street and estate cleaning helps improve the appearance of the area and discourages further crime and ASB. Wardens are empowered to issue fixed penalty notices for littering, fly tipping and dog fouling. Read Here Don't seem to be working around East Dulwich.. Fox

The problem about Folk Club Nights and Quiz nights is tha everyone is expected to keep quiet. Folk Singers seem to like the Odd Ale or Three.. So spend money but put other drinkers off. Quizzers will sit there all night with half a pint of Shandy and a bag of Nuts and then leave as soon as the quiz is over. Dispite Quiz Night bringing in customers, they never spend much.. Football draws in the crowds and they tend to drink.. The new owners will have to decide which way they are going. Fox

Maybe I > dreamt it. Rioters mostly were masks to hide their identity because they are aware of cameras. When a riot takes place, opotunists often join in thinking that taking items scattered around is not really stealling. Much of this type of activity is spontaneous. Someone planning to rob someone is going to be more careful not to be seen. Hence alleyways and poorly lit areas are common sites for street robbery. Fox -

People who rob other people are not going to do it in view of a camera. They are going to follow someone and rob them where there are no cameras and is dark/concealed You cannot cover every yard of every street with a camera. Fox -

I remember him well.. 1971/2. and his repartee... Quote:- " I asked for a piece of Silver." , "it's the first time I have ever seen Brown Silver" " When my father died he left me a Million pounds. Where the hell he left it I'll never know." end Quote. That was at Tower Hill. We used to hold our Union meeting there when we were on strike. Post Office Engineering Union. POEU. Fox.

Folk Singing would not be practical now it is one open space. With Two bars people could sing and be enjoyed without being interupted by others who don't want to listen to folk music. With one open space do folk singers really expect the whole bar to remain silent while people sing. ?? Fox

Stealing daffodils from Piermont green
DulwichFox replied to Mrs Y's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Plants are for everyone to enjoy.. Parents should not encourage their children to pick wild flowers. or those planted by local authorities. It is Not ok for children to take a couple... then another child takes a couple more.. and so on. One has to rememeber that Daffodills ate poisonous if not cut in the right place. Daffodils contain something called calcium oxalate crystals Poisinouswhich is found, among other places, in the sap of cut stems. Read Here If you have taken these plants and have ingested the sap and have become ill you will think twice next time you decide to steal flowers... Daffodills bought from florists come from Huge farms in Holland where they are bred for that purpose. Fox -
Who to follow on Twitter in E. Dulwich?
DulwichFox replied to Jakido's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
@greatexibitED does not exist on Twitter. What is the correct Twitter Name... Fox. -
Having watched a few of the day time TV shows about buying property, it would seem the sellers might investigate this , so that the property comes with planning permission.. What ever, you need to know before you buy... If other houses in the road of similar design have already had loft extentions it may be easier.. Planning permission is always complicated and it seems concils can refuse permisssion for trivial reasons.. You can always contact a local estate Agent who may be able to advise you on the local councils' policy. Fox.

The Huge concrete things are not actually Planters. They have a plate on them that indicates they are Security Barriers like the things that stop people driving through shop windows or stealing Cash Machines. They don't appear to have drainage.. Also They are looking for staff. Requirements state. Attention to Hair and Finger Nails essential. Bald , Nail Bitters need not apply. Fox
