Curry Club - Thursday 7 March 2019 - venue TBC
DulwichFox replied to Michael Palaeologus's topic in The Lounge
I'm up for Curry Club but might not be available at short notice due to pending hospital operations with overnight stays. Mike, do you have a date in mind ? Foxy -

Over the past 40+ years I have been to Dozens of restaurants in South / South East London including Babur back in 80s when it was very exclusive and not just trendy. I was in the Himalaya Catford a few months back. It was Dreadful. One of my favourites in the 70's I'm not too concerned about prices. I'm not poor. I'm a bit frugal careful with money. Foxy

Hi Kerry2015 Never got a clear answer to price rises in Memsaab. I did not make too much of an issue about it. Both Jaflong and Mirash are very dependent on whether or not the owners are present. The food in both can vary greatly due to that. Curry Cabin was my regular sit down 15+ years ago. It was also my favourite T/A until it closed. I was using Curry cabin back in 1972 when it first opened and was there on its last night with the Curry Club. Foxy

I am a regular at Memsaab. I have expressed my disaproval of excessive price rises. Since Curry Cabin closed down and Tandoori Nights has also been closed Memsaab has been extremely busy most nights. I did suggest to them that Tandoori Nights would be reopening very soon (April ?) and they are likely to lose a lot of custom to them when it does. Price rises are not going to help retain loyal customers. Also my last 3 - 4 meals at Memsaab have a little disappointing, which I have had cause to complain about. The staff were on each occassion very polite and apologetic. I believe they are becoming a victim of their own success. I have to say that Tandoori Nights has never been on my Favs list. It has remained the only Curry Outlet I Never go to. Expensive and IMHO bland tasteless food. Restaurant is also crowded with seats too close together. Jaflong Tandoori has really improved recently after it took a decline in standards. Not been to Dulwich Tandoori for a while as it is always full. Very Popular. Polite staff good food and has never disappointed. Had a few reasonable meals in Mirash recently but they had all the lights off and I was told thats how their customers like it. #How odd. Surma ? Forget it. Empty restaurant when others are full . Cold average food. No food warmers, Rude Staff. Foxy

I used to use Patchouli Oil back in the 70's which one of my workmates took exception to. "Young Man there is a strange smell that sees to follow you around" this guy used to say. I also broke a small bottle of Patchouli Oil in my car. The Police on more than one occassion spent some considerable amount time serching my car when they stopped me. DulwichFox.

8 trains an hour proposed for East Dulwich

Perhaps you could be honest > and explain why you have such an aversion to him. He has done nothing in resolving Knife Crime. Totally ineffective. I do not trust Khan.. From Twitter @SadiqKhan and @jeremycorbyn received ?90,000 combined from Henley Homes - the firm that built a segregated play area Yet despite both condemning the firm, neither will commit to returning their donations or refusing any donations from them in the future I question Khans involvement with any rail project. -
8 trains an hour proposed for East Dulwich

Extra trains would be good although current services to London Bridge at every 15 mins is not a bad service. My main concern is that The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan will be involved. Piss up in a brewery springs to mind. DulwichFox -
I dont know about Customer Service ? I've not really needed to use it. Things seldom go wrong. This thread is about Line services. I use EE for my Mobile service.

Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > robbin Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > 11.9 million to go... > > > Are you seriously trying to compare an online > petition with a referendum? > > Dear oh dear. 17.4 Million people took the time to go to their local polling station to vote to leave. Some having time off work to go there. People can sign an online petition in a couple of mins from anywhere. Requires very little effort. People who went to their local polling station had One vote. It has been suggested that people who signed the petition on line had more than one vote by using different email accounts. Remoaners need to get over it. Accept the result. Retain our Democracy. I have been with BT at 2 different addresses in East Dulwich. since 1980. 39 years. Have had virtually uninterupted sevice in all that time. A couple of outages which were dealt with almost as soon as I discovered them. In July 1991 access to the Internet was implemented by the BT network I've been using the that service since 1999 ish 20 years. Maybe a little earlier. BT Broadband is a very reliable service. I am getting 56.3Mb/sec Download and 18.16 Mb/ sec Upload which I am happy with. I worked for The GPO / BT for 26 years. and elsewhere in Telecoms for a further 14 years. I'm happy to stay with BT. It is right. Democracy does have the right to change its mind. That is why the UK has a General Election every 5 years. But we had a referendum on whether to leave the E.U. and leave Won. So we cannot have another Referendum before we have left. Maybe we could have another in 5 years to see if wanted to rejoin ??? if a second Referendum voted to stay, would we have a third referendum ? Best of three.

4 Million people who wish to take away our Democratic system of voting. There are many Corrupt Governments across the World thst do not have Democratic voting where Election results are overturned or ignored. We had a Democratic vote on Brexit. Leave voters won. Are we going to have a second General Election if some people dont get their way. If you do not like our Democratic voting system then go and live in one of the most corrupt countries of the World. Somalia, South Sudan, Syria , Afghanistan Yemen.
