Tiny Little Things That Cause You Irrational Rage

Upon reading a job ad for a basic office role... "We actively encourage people from a variety of backgrounds with different experiences, skills and stories to join us and influence and develop our working practice. We are particularly keen to hear from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and disabled candidates" !!!! -

If you really don't like what someone is saying how about trying the grown up approach and ignoring them? Just a suggestion :) Back on the topic of this thread... I found myself getting quite grrr with the whole gender pay difference and mostly certainly not because I think both should be paid the same. It is clear these salaries are based on popularity - by means of prime time broadcasting/type of show/general "stardom" status of presenter etc. I really don't see where the argument is that women are not paid fairly. Everyone there is paid differently so it can't be a gender issue and that's what really gets me grrr. It's similar to the annoying misuse, and do forgive me here, of "is it coz I'm black?" argument. No it has nothing to do with that at all. If you are popular and successful in that line of work that you do you will be in demand. When you are in demand either you are in a position to negotiate higher pay or companies will throw money at you. If you're not so popular...

I think there's a difference between you accidentally (or for others, maybe intentionally) hitting the post message button twice - when the connection isn't behaving properly at the users end - and the communication finding the forum - the receiver end (it's too early for proper tech stuff)...

An interesting read... I guess drinking prosecco through a straw in a pint glass is not the done thing... oh hang on is that cider? Darn I'm confuzzled! I still view presecco as something "special" - at least all the fancy bottles under my desk make it look special - although to be honest I dont drink much these days anyway and I guess if you have the "good" stuff (what you consider good personally) then it no longer becomes special? Why is it popular? If we're told something, whether by advertising, shops/bars etc, is the "in" thing then we're silly enough to believe it...

Maybe I was brought up differently...You should always plan alternative travel for any possibility AND allow for extra time to travel. Why do people insist on running around at the last minute for everything in life?

The comments are not so bad... it's a bit of a mix/balance. Some love it. Some don't. Looks to me those that have really negative comments on Tripadvisor were already of a such mindset before going, as in didn't have particularly high expectations in the first place. Give the place a chance. If it is being run by a completely new team it will take time to settle down and understand the local clientele. It's a shame the food reports are not positive. I do hope this is being passed on to management instead of being b itched about.

Theatre for 6yo and 4yo - Wicked?
KalamityKel replied to Undiscovered's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Out of the two I'd go for Matilda. It's what you would expect it to be. Clear story line, you can hear what is being said and sung etc. The flow does sag a tad part way through where there is the risk of a moment of boredom but picks up again quite quickly. Wicked, well, it's noisy and easy to lose track, for little minds, in what's going on. Found the sound set up unnecessarily way too loud. Hope this helps... of course just my thoughts and experiences.
