Cake shops on Lordship Lane? Many too? Are we talking about the same Lordship Lane?
  2. haha that told u! sorry... chuckling here. so the power cut wasnt for too long? :-)
  3. Have we relocated to Canterbury or is ed REALLY the place to "be"? ;-)
  4. i had troubles all wkend back now tho...
  5. anyone would think the meeting time and place, incidentally where all other such decisions across the borough are made, is planned deliberately to upset ed residents... y should this one application be any different to others eh?
  6. whilst there have been a vast number of objections that wouldnt necessarily mean an automatic refuseful. not only would the objections be judged to be relative to the application issues theyd also need to concern the licensing objectives and based on that. its not a simple case of sorting thru a yes no pile there are rules and if those objections dont effect the objectives then they wont count. the establishment also have the opportunity thruout he application to respond to objections both to those objecting and to the council again, changing the possible outcome. so its not a simple case of saying there are so many objections so it will obviously be refused as its not how things r done. the establishments "lack of involvement on this thread" is very wise. the edf is not an official platform for such things and as popular as the edf if it does not represent everyone in ed or the surrounding areas.

  8. Now now that's not particularly a fair thing to say... it would seem there is/was (I don't know where they're at with the idea of moving on) no choice... however as you've clearly pointed out as have I and others to which this application effects the choice/selection/wishes of which store occupies the site is not the question
  9. It's tick boxes... sadly there's no thinking (using ones brain) envolved in the processes these days!
  10. I don't think it was just there the noise fell... LL seemed to be rather active way in to the early hours...
  11. Just out of curiousity how much did you discuss your childs condition with the establishment concerned? I mean obviously each child with such diagnosis if different - did you go in to much detail?
  12. what were the "terms and conditions"? I mean was there anything along the lines of "the management reserved the rights to..." I'm with mynamehere on this. Try to work to find a compromise. I'm sure the group concerned will want to find a solution that benefits both sides. If it didn't then it operates poors customer service indeed.
  13. Who didn't know this?
  14. That's not the issue at all! Don't know how many times it has to be said - it's the application itself that is the issue. It doesn't matter who comes and goes, a shop is a shop and people will choose to shop in it or not. It's a shame the focus is being pushed to who it is that wants to establish themselves in ED and not the effect the changes to the building, it's use and the impact on the surrounding environments. With this ridiculous focus I hope planning don't miss the real issues...
  15. I thought it was a shop alarm. The cricket bat almost made it's way along the lane... now a rather grumpy KK out and about this morning!
  16. I miss u CC... mayb I'll have to find my board again... sometime :)

  18. A defeatist attitude is not needed here. Although, saying that, I really do not have much faith in the planning department. It's known that they'll pass all sorts of ridiculous applications that, like this particular application, lack full, accurate & complete details for the construction. *sighs*
  19. Is gravy not the done thing these days?

  22. only if you're being sarcastic fred! I bet if the shoe was on the other foot - you were the one stuck on a packed boiling hot bus in solid traffic you wouldnt see it in the same light. Yes the roads are not perfect but I hardly think it's the fault of TFL!
