  1. Arrives back in Quiet Room after a hard days work. Hurrah, the weekend is here! DM
  2. What can I say? Mr Mockney is a complete genius! Thank you all so much. DM
  3. Indeed, thank you so much Mr Keef. I think that Mr Mockney Piers is the Mario Testino of South London. I would not agree to be photographed by anyone else! DM
  4. Dances into Quiet Room. Gathers Mr Mockney up in arms. Plants great big wet kiss on Mr Mockneys nose.
  5. Dear Spadetownboy, I love a man who knows what he is talking about... DM
  6. Yes, er, I like the Duchy original shortcake with the tiny pieces of lemon rind in...
  7. I shall visit her on Saturday when I am doing my chores. I'll get right back to you! DM
  8. Ah, Mr MacGabhann, it's been a long time. I wish I could answer appropriately. I am particularly fond of chocolate covered Kimbos from the shop recommended by Spadetownboy. The one thing that always makes me think of childhood though is Fry's Chocolate Cream. My mother always smelled of minty dark chocolate when I was little...
  9. I genuinely do appreciate good coffee. I like Starbucks, and I don't care who knows. I used to like Kylie too - when everyone else hated her! Has anyone else got a Nespresso machine? They are just fab. They make spectacular coffee, but I must be careful how much of it I drink with small children in the house, as I can start to tremble in the manner of a crazy crack addict! It can be rather strong... Dear Jimmy Mac, I shall give those coffee beans a try, did you get them in Blue Mountain?
  10. Darling Mr MacGabhann, Someone you love, would love some mum...
  11. Yep, agreed, and I got some super Cat in the Hat type T shirts for the kids in there. Fab shop, small but perfectly formed...
  12. Gives big hug to special chums. Looks forward to book launch party with all of my chums... Shucks you guys, I owe you all a beer! DM
  13. Dances into the Quiet Room followed by Ana pulling along old trolley (belonging to Max) containing Nebuchadnezzar. Thinks to self... "Anyone else want to celebrate with me??? What would I have done without all of my super chums in the forum?" DM
  14. Why has everyone got such a downer on super perfect Starbucks, with their deep luscious chairs, assortment of confections and great buckets of super latte? I like to drink coffee, and I love to drink Starbucks. I have been to coffee plantations in Kenya and Jamaica, and can tell good coffee as well as the next person. Oh how I loved the Starbucks in Sainsburys. What a loss that was when it closed. I'll meet you all up there for a drink when it re-opens though. Bet you can't stay away. Oh for a poppey seed lemon muffin or a slice of blueberry cheesecake - pretend you don't like it if you like...
  15. Wakes up with a start,... Jumps out of special chair and grabs enormous handbag - Thinks to self: "Aah, another hangover". Feels like brain has become dehydrated and is stuck to one side of the inside of skull... Walks carefully out of quiet room. While wondering how great it would be to discuss champagne with Mr Barry Roads girlfriend - Krug really is a favourite of mine...
  16. Looks sadly at CitizenED, it is true, it is only Wednesday! Pours another two glasses...
  17. Actually Mr Piers, In the absence of the fragrant Mrs Mockney - I am giving one of those stares at this thread right now...
  18. Thanks Katgod, I just revisited my original post, and I would like to say that I really meant spare a thought/reflection or prayer to any God you have as Katgod kindly pointed out. Dear Nero, I realise that perhaps the newspapers may be running this story cynically, I suppose I don't really mind as it means this childs profile continues to remain high. Has anyone spotted my rosary beads? I appear to have mislaid them...
  19. Appears in Quiet Room as if by magic, holding empty champagne glass... "Did Mr Mockeny say 1855 Moet & Chandon?" DM
  20. Trots into lounge and walks to bar to open a nice cold bottle of Chablis from the fridge. Glances around empty room and feels sad that chums are usually gone home by the time I arrive. Thinks "Nevermind", pops straw in bottle and sits down to enjoy long cold drink. Thinks to self - "Small children and working - I am just so bloomin busy right now"...
  21. I am genuinely not looking for any kind of confrontation here. I just feel that the media attention is positive and I applaud the family for encouraging it. I genuinely don't remember a call to prayer initiated by me, but admit that I am prone to fits of hysteria from time to time. You do know where I am from don't you? What do expect? ;-)
  22. I am sure the McCann family are not agonising over the motives of the newspapers, simply hoping that blanket coverage will shame someone into telling them where she is, alive or dead. But for the grace of God go the lot of us. Any child lost is one too many. God forbid that some group of dreadful child abusers have her. I think that her parents would do anything to keep her profile in the media, and I think they are right to do it.
  23. Gosh Mockney - thats pure class!
  24. Probably for the rest of the world - 6pm is ok, but I must wait until the kids go to bed. Hurrah, it is 9.30 and I am appropriately anaesthetised! DM
  25. and I can see a bottle of wine with my name on it - it is almost 7pm ... counting down the minutes after a hard day at work.
