  1. Where is Scotts? Sorry I have a hangover, perhaps I missed a mention of it earlier?
  2. Yes dear *Bob* I am in complete agreement. While they "fill their boots" in the bins at the back of Sommerfield, we shall be "fine dining" at Claridges...
  3. Dear Mr Mikewbate, I have had the nastiest most evil and threatening comments from hell on my blog in the last week. I think it is best if I keep my head down. I am sure I would be stoned in the manner of Mary Magdalen. The dulwichmums and dads are revolting...
  4. Mr MacGabhann and Mr Mikewbate, I must admit, I was a Penthouse girl... I am not ashamed of it one little bit. I think it was all done in the best possible taste! DM
  5. Why Mr Batdog, you always make me smile. You really are quite the naughty little dog! Isn't he a little darling Mr MacGabhann? DM
  6. That was an interesting article - I read it much earlier today when you posted Mr Mockney. It really does not look good for the family now, it has all been far too long. This is simply dreadful. DM
  7. Sweet Mr Mikewbate, I am so sorry I have been rather busy at work. If I had known you were up to your usual scamp type behaviour - I would obviously have called wonderful Mr Batdog to set about your person - perhaps tearing out your end trails, or maybe thrown a small explosive device in your direction. Will you please accept my sincere apology for neglecting you on this occasion? DM XXX
  8. Darling Mr Batdog, You really are terribly knowledgable! Are you sure you are a dog darling? DM

Dear Dub, I don't believe I have noticed you posting here before. May I take the opportunity to welcome you to the forum - and say how I admire your name? You know I could have chosen that name for myself sweetie! DM
  10. Dear Spadetownboy, I feel instinctively that you are right. It is a dreadful shame and horror that events like these happen. But they do happen, and we must all be constantly aware of that. DM

You see Mr MacGabhann, You know this is true!
  12. Nero darling, Yes you are right I know. My mother in law never supervises the children properly when she takes them to the park. She sits in the coffee shop and says they will come back when they are hungry. This has caused me no end of anxiety, she points out that she has raised two boys and they are fine. My husband points out that I am talking as though I am considering not allowing my MIL to supervise our children at all (I most certainly am) and I am left once again feeling guilty for perhaps spoiling their childhoods, not allowing them to enjoy just being children. Tarnishing their early years with my fears. I just think that being a parent leaves you wide open to the scrutiny of others, and hind sight is a wonderful thing. I am neurotic I know. I need tamazepam...
  13. Dear Nero, I just wish they would find that little girl. Do you remember Lesley Ann Downey? Wasn't she a little girl killed by the Moores Murderers (I know my spelling is the pits). Her mother was completely destroyed by the loss of that child and what was done to her. I will never forget seeing that mother interviewed on TV, she was forced to listen to those killers on tape taking pleasure in what they did. I feel sorry for the little girl and her siblings - the twins. The parents will tear eachother apart - you can count on it, do you think they don't blame themselves and eachother? These children are entitled to a childhood. Maddie and her siblings. This is a time to concentrate on praying for them, and trying to find her. God help them all. I know how trite I must sound, but this is just the most tragic thing for a parent. Just let her come home. Apportion blame afterwards. Become a parent Nero, everyone has a right to pass judgement on us.
  14. Dear Spadetownboy, I am not getting at you at all. This situation is horrific. The people or person who took this child clearly were just waiting for an opportunity, any opportunity. Please don't judge the parents - this really is a time to hope that baby gets to come home, not a time to judge people. Everyone makes mistakes, they must feel dreadful. All that matters is that Maddy gets to come home.

In this post I promise not to exaggerate - just for today I shall post as myself... My mother had a brother called Joseph and my father had a brother called Anthony. Both were born in the same maternity hospital in Dublin (Ireland) called "The Rotunda" in the 1950's. Any baby born in that hospital around then, immediately had their name entered in the birth register and so on their birth certificate and later their passport. Some babies were born with the mother not immediately certain of what name to give the child. These children all had their name entered on the birth register as "Mary" so that the Blessed Virgin (RC country) would look after and protect them. Hence I had two uncles called Mary! (Behind their back you understand? - Joseph and Anthony to their faces...) My uncle Joe was particularly unhappy about this, oh how we laughed around his hospital bed when he was unwell about a decade ago. My lovely cousin Mark begged him not to die, and promised my uncle Joe that if he did dare to pass away when his family loved and needed him so, the name Mary would go on his grave stone. In a graveyard in Leicestershire, my uncle was burried, his grave stone makes very interesting reading!
  16. Yes! We had Danish pastries and a croissant!
  17. Myself and Freya had enormous scrummy Danish pastries there on Saturday morning. The place was full of mature new mummy types insisting on Soya Milk Latte and various confections for their children which were manufactured in a nut free environment. I am not exaggerating at all - just for a change! Four out of five of them had diet related allergies! The one with the nut allergy decided to throw caution to the wind when she saw how super the pastries appeared - which is alarming, because (and I do know a little about this subject) anaphylactic shock is not something you can decide to just put up with because you fancy some cake! The staff smiled on throughout the requests, even when one mother asked that the milk steaming appliance not be used for a half an hour as it was upsetting darling Hugo! The lovely waiting staff desserve a medal. DM
  18. Please God, just let it be someone who wanted a baby girl of their own, who have not upset her too much. Just let her come home.
  19. Could everybody please take a few minutes to pray for poor tiny Madeleine McCann and her family. God only knows the horror these people are experiencing right this minute.
  20. Oh Batdog - where is Miss Polly Dorner (my chum) when I need some smelling salts?
  21. Darling Batdog, No, I am not a dulwichdivorcee. I am wildly in love with my darling man - the one who doesn't notice the colour of my eyes never mind my toe nail polish. Ho hum... It is a good blog though, I really like her style. Is it you dear one? DM
  22. *Swoon* Mr Batdog, you really know how to delight a girl! That description has rather made my heart skip a beat...
  23. Darling Mr Batdog!... All is well with the world. I was beginning to believe I had dreamed you up! DM
  24. It all sounds very exciting. Will you have some photos on flickr or on here after the event? What colour is your tie? Or is that a secret? You are getting married in Tuscany are you not? DM
