  1. nope. Not been sold for long time, no agency boards.
  2. Thanks Penguin68. But how do I find the landlord?
  3. Hi Our neighbours moved out a couple of weeks ago and left their rubbish piled up in the front garden. This included food which has now attracted rats. What can I do about it (privatrely rented out)?
  4. Lordship Lane; None of the E D shops are cheap. For value for money try the Ald Life shops. One on Forest Hill and one on Walworth Rd. Two St Christopher's hospice shops. One near junction with North X Rd - clothes, bric-a-brac, books, sometimes small furniture. Not cheap but a good range. 10-6.00 weekdays for larger shop Smaller St C's further down nearer roundabout. Good clothes and some books and b-a-b. Mary's Living and Giving. On corner of Frogley (?) and L Lane Good quality clothes. Some books. Shelter near roundabout. New, mostly clothes, nice lay-out. Mind on corner of Grove Vale, Clothes, small amount of books and b-a-b. Four shops in Camberwell.
  5. We've had a Range Rover vogue outside for nearly a year now. Not reported stolen, just sitting there.
  6. Is that the one opposite the library? If so, people were helping themselves to food left out in bags of other rubbish last week
  7. It would be very helpful if there was somewhere outside Denmark Hill to drop off/pick up people.
  8. Considering how rude most customers are, I suspect that it's quite a struggle for some assistants to be permanently polite. I know that I've often wondered how the Post Office staff refrain from snatching the mobile out of the customer's hand as he/she has a long conversation while trying to conduct a complicated transaction at the same time, ignoring the assistant.
  9. Our neighbours had a large container of frog spawn in their garden which they then re-homed when they turned into miniature frogs. This was weeks ago and now they keep finding tiny newly developed frogs in their garden. They don't have a pond and the original container has gone. Where are these babies coming from? I thought frogs only spawned only a year, and anyway, they have no-where that an adult frog would want to spawn.
  10. A friend saw a fox up on his landing in Streatham and later discovered his wallet out on the lawn
  11. Air pump for circulation. I know someone who then used it in winter to pump the warm air into the colder parts of the house.
  12. Just a reminder to anyone who parks on Lacon road to be careful of the dropped kerb under the tree near the junction with Crawthew. The double yellow lines stop just before the dropped kerb and so many many people are caught out, thinking they're OK to park. My personal record is seeing 4 different cars ticketed on the same day. Southwark must be earning a fortune from it and the set up of the yellow lines makes it look deliberate. Alright, everyone should know not to park over a dropped kerb, but having probably driven round and round and round looking for a parking space, it's easy not to notice.
  13. I wouldn't say Crawthew was quiet during the day. This summer has been non-stop building work with dust and machinery from 8.00 till dusk.
  14. Have a look in Fixation in Kennington Lane. Good range of 2nd hand cameras too, all checked out, and expert advice.
  15. Met someone who went to hear J K Rowling when she visited Dulwich Books before anyone had heard of her. Got a signed 1st ed. from her, children read it, gave it away.
  16. People seem to be talking about two completely different events.
  17. It looked like a minature drone. Quite odd. Thanks for the suggestions.
  18. So ollieloudon can't have a point of view?
  19. Any suggestions? Last night, around dusk, something flew slowly a couple of times around my garden. It was about the size of a bat or very small bird, but it flew like an insect. It looked like an enormous bee, but I suspect it was a large flying beetle.
  20. Thee's no place like gnome. Well, someone was bound to say it.
  21. It gets very crowded at the Grove Vale library too, but I don't see there's anywhere else for the buggies to go
  22. OK, they are my opinions. Something I believe I'm entitled to. I was merely trying to differentiate to robbin the difference between a fact and an opinion. I don't think that making gambling easier has helped people, especially those with financial problems who are desperate enough to take a risk. I don't think that extended drinking hours has dome much for town centres and I don't think the invasion was much of a good thing.
  23. Well, they are facts, not "just your opinions". I didn't actually give an opinion
  24. I wouldn't call my post an excoriation. Just a few facts.
