No, but it's going to be very good for Lloyds. It highlights what a useless bunch the government and the regulators/Bank of England are.
-
Does anyone think that it's rather ironic that Lloyds-TSB were not able to buy Abbey as it would have given them too much of a monopoly and Abbey has been sold to a Spanish Bank. But now they have bought HBOS at a knock down price and ended up with an even larger share of the market than if they had bought Abbey. They must be laughing all the way to the bank, so to speak.

So it seems the P is for Peckham because all these routes run from Peckham bus garage. Thanks SKS, I couldn't sleep with the worry.
-
Can't be Peckham the P4 doesn't go anywhere near Peckham (does it?> I wondered if it stood for something clever to designate the size of bus or something like that. There must some London Transport anoraks out there.

Quite like Scream in Croydon, we got a great sound there and I didn't think it was too expensive.Scream

Was it originally the S13 the S being for Sainsbury's as it took you to two of them. I think Sainsbury's might have had sometime to do with setting the route up in the first place to help punters get to the supermartkets. But what does the P stand for? there are other P routes 4 & 12 for example but what does it all mean???

OK Bawdy-nan I stand corrected on the sibling policy, I thought they had dropped that because of pressure on places from people who had moved out of the immediate area but kept a child in the school and then wanted to put another child in, or who had 'moved' into the area to get the first child in and used that to get another in.

The infants in DV is a CoE school and it used to be only open to children within the Parish of St Barnabas and it helped if you were a regular St Barnabas attendee. The parish was roughly bounded by the railway lines sort of west (I think) along East Dulwich Grove to Herne Hill and then south (again with railway line as the boundary)to the south circular and then east till about the Roseberry (?) Gate on Dulwich common and an imaginary line across Dulwich Park up Eynella Road Down Lordship Lane to Mr Luis and along Melbourne Grove back to East Dulwich Grove. (Phew) Anyway this threw up some anomalies such as one side of Melbourne, and one side of Eynella, was in and one out. Also if you were the wrong side of the tracks (so to speak) in Burbage for instance. This led to lots of appeals, wailing, gnashing of teeth etc, etc. The last I heard was that it all depended on how close you were to the school itself and attendance at St B's, so even if you were in the Parish you might not get in. I also think they dropped the sibling policy. Similar, although not a Church school, with DHJS It's all a question of how close you are to the school, the catchment varies from year to year although I believe there is an appeals procedure and I think there might be social mix issues too which might make a difference to an application, but I don't know that for sure.

We saw Liam at the airport with Paty Kensit, many years ago, and he was really nice to all the people, including my then 11 year old daughter, who asked, and got, his autograph. He was a bit thrilled with all the attention but who can blame him. I kept the autograph in case he gets pushed off the stage and it's a bit final.

Smooth lounge lizard that I am (as well as expert on all things fox)I went to the opening night of the Dex club in Brixton and well nice it is too. Can't find their web site but it's over the Kentucky, opposite the Ritzy and they own the pub next door to said kentucky. Theres a room on the first floor with bar and then above there are some bedrooms (all en suite) and a terrace with a hot tub, and all in the centre of brixton. Will it be similar here? Anyway if they want invite me to the opening night they'll have to get in touch with my agent.

They are very difficult to get rid of. There have been some shot in Dulwich but other foxes simply take their place, so it's a very short term and ineffective solution. That?s one extreme, and not one I support, but the other is the people who feed them dog food and other left over?s. This is essentially cruel, as they become dependent on the food supply and starve to death if the supply stops. I understand that they forget how, or can't be bothered anymore, to hunt or scavenge. To get rid of their poo (which does smell like nothing on earth, especially when you tread in it) would be the most important thing to me and, although there are foxes in our garden we don't seem to be too poo affected, don't know why. Of course it can be highly amusing to see the local dogs rolling in the overnight foxes poo to which they seem so attracted and the horrified reaction of their masters and mistresses. So foxes aren't all bad.

It's my fault, I just wondered what was correct. Didn't mean to take it off topic. -

I take back everything I said. Went in for a drinkie tonight and it's very nice. It's just so different from 'a pub'. Met the landlady, Rose?, and she is a delight, really wants to get it right without being over ambitious. I still don't like the name change but who cares. Must be a destination for the EDF drinks. Metamorphose the pubs, thats what the old hypocrite Oldie says. -

Yes, I think I'd prefer that. I'll suggest it to them when I go in. Does anyone know when it will open? -

Wasn't open, but they have put the opening times on the window. Now, have I got it wrong? It says Sunday 12pm -12 am shouldn't it say 12am - 12pm better still would be 12 noon - 12 midnight, assuming that they won't be open during the wee small hours. Or doesn't it matter? -
No it's this

No I think it's a pub, there are beer pumps etc, it just looks a bit, well, um, 1980's? sort of interior design, er seaside cottage, cornflake family, er that type of thingy. I can't imagine any 'horny handed sons of toil' such as myself, popping in for a pint of lager 'n' lime after work and standing outside smoking a fag (can you still say that or has it changed?). The point I'm making is, it looks a bit too nice to be a pub but clearly is. Anyway I'm going to see if it's open at lunchtime and have a pint. Probably in about an hour if anyone wants to join me. -

Don't think there'll be any more footy there, except under the table. V romantic.
