"Reeva?s irrelevance to the main event was confirmed by a tabloid headline. ?Blade Slays Blonde?" So a tabloid headline is confirmation of fact these days is it? God help us.

A genuine question for the Kiwi's around here...

I think LL means Australia. And I very much doubt his/her assertion that he/she is a Kiwi. This is really just an excuse to express my dislike of the block of flats opposite the ED railway station (and above Keatings). I am still waiting for them to begin cladding the exterior. Anyone have another building in mind?

Another recommendation for the Afternoon Tea by Baked by Belle. I booked it as a treat for my wife and it earned me several brownie points. And I got to pretend I was Lord of the Manor for an hour or two (I found it impossible not to hold the tea cup betwix my thumb and index finger with my little finger akimbo). Scones were the best I've had. And Belle made some dairy-free sandwiches for my toddler son, and even fashioned a wee edible elephant for him. Really good.

Well put Bouncy. I am 100% OK with attending a church celebration if requested by friends or family. Or my wife. None of them for a second thought I was buying in to the religous aspects of it, and none gave a monkey's. I'm tempted to include the priest/reverend/pastor in 'them'. I tend to either let my mind wander or try and find a more generic, agnostic meaning in the words spoken. Or I think of Satan and Saddam a la South Park. -

A genuine question for the Kiwi's around here...

What Pickle said. The Bay of Plenty is beautiful but quite isolated. Roto-vegas, well, if a town earns the suffix 'vegas' it's usually not because it's like Vegas. There are ski fields in the North Island, but the South Island is where it's at. One thing to consider carefully is climate, as it varies wildly from the top of the North Island (warm) to the bottom of the South (cold), with various micro-climates in between. If in doubt, go to Dunedin 'cause that's where I'm from and I've a mate who's a copper there. -

OK maybe I'm just trying to ramp up the 'heated debate' factor on a slow Friday, and I hate people commenting in ignorance on others parenting, but 'you've been so good, don't spoil it now' doesn't rank up there with the worst comments I've heard or heard of. I doubt very much that these ladies were conscious of your interpretation of their use of the word 'good'. Who hasn't described a baby as a 'good boy/girl'? ------------------------------------------------------- > hmmm not sure its heated enough (or at all) > BUT... > re the lack of tolerance for children in British > society, I was in a department store cafe earlier > this week where I headed in order to have a cup of > tea and feed my 4 month old. Thanks James, appreciate the update. -
I'd guess a large number of the particpants and readers are just in it for sh*ts and giggles. Others like near neighbours are directly affected. A few like or loathe M&S for what it is percieved to stand for. But most probably have a genuine interest in which supermarket is on their high street, and their interest in the EDF is limited to these sorts of issues (i.e. they don't log in to debate the meaning of life, just to find out what's going on in their 'hood). In short they've got a life, but outside the EDF. Hi James, Don't suppose you know the latest on the uplighters outside ED station? Recall late last year there was work to replace/fix them, which seems to have stalled. Maybe the same contractor who 'installed' the departure board outside the station is involved? Thanks, Chillaxed -
Easy now H. My point was that your theory (which does appeal) explains why drivers get angry at cyclists (or forum members get angry at other forum members) but it doesn't justify a driver getting out and nutting a cyclist. I?ve already clarified why I made this point, which was that I (mis)interpreted your post as justification for forum ?bullying?. I?m strictly a working hours forumite so you?ve 12 minutes to respond if we?re to thrash this out [winky face]

How about you all confess to how many times you've chosen your own convenience over the collective good e.g. let's send LO to nursery in a polo neck jumper and hope the staff don?t notice the chicken pox/impetigo/other infectious disease that LO has but is not unduly affected by? -

I fancy your 'live and let live' attitude would be sorely tested if a stray toenail clipping flew into your morning coffee or indeed within 3 feet of you. *Bob* Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I try not to go on public transport too much. > > It's full of people who secretly hate their own > lives - and manifest their secret hatred by > getting disproportionately annoyed by the > relatively inconsequential actions of others.

Rucksack & wallet stolen at Sainsburys - take care

I've no issue with the return the trolley guy; struck me as a good idea. -
Not on as it stinks and irritates. As does a man or woman with too much perfume. Which you can't really call someone out on. Tricky. Worst I saw (or initially heard) was the rythmic 'click, click' of a nail clipper on the top deck of a bus. I turned toward the sound hoping that at least it was fingernails. It wasn't; dude had his shoes and socks off and was clipping his toenails. I walked over to him and just stared at him with the best look of contempt I could muster. He stopped.

Not mutually exclusive H. You perceive them to be 'free riders', so you 'bully' them. The theory explains the reaction, it doesn't justify it.
