Miso is quite high > in calories, isn't it? Miso paste is around 30 calories per tablespoon - I just use a teaspoon so it isn't too much and easily incorporated into the 500 calories.

Yup - first diet I have ever managed to keep to long term. The only reason I can keep to it is the knowledge that I can have a normal day the next day. My tip is a big bowl of soup for 'fasting' days, topped up with miso paste dissolved in a mug of boiling water for in-betweeny hunger pangs. Funnily enough, the day after a 'fast' day I don't feel overly hungry.

Get frying those chips from your shoulder Louisa - or should I say hand-cut, triple fried wedges :) Seriously though - it will make you feel much better :)

Jeeze Louise.... if you look down on others that you perceive to come from another class then you're more disturbed than I had previously imagined :-o nb - jellied eels, the devil's spawn :(

Bloody hell, what a load of sniping bores! :( Great idea for a thread - haven't heard at Ropewalk Market before and will head there at the weekend :) Very good street food at Tachbrook St market of you work near Pimlico - good range of cuisines and the falafel wraps are to die for. http://www.westminster.gov.uk/workspace/uploads/images/Tachbrook-1287414573.JPG

I met my partner via online dating 8 years ago and still going strong :) When I was last single I was urged by 20/30-somethings at work to try online dating as that was considered 'the norm' by them. Tried it for a few months, met some very interesting peeps, had some quite frankly hilarious dates, and finally met R. The trick (I feel) is to not take online dating uber seriously, to have some fun, to have a decent 'get out' strategy (always meet for coffee or drinks on first meeting, never a meal) and to keep an open mind. Many online daters are far to strict with their requirements.... 'female 36 - wants to meet solvent, tall, dark handsome man with own hair, house and car. Must adore cats and no beards/moustaches.' 'male late 40s - wants to meet green eyed oriental lady 18-29. Must be under size 10 and large bossomed.'

I didn't particularly like the woman but her achievements and determination were an inspiration for me (as a woman) into adulthood and beyond.

You're all VERY naughty.

I'm afraid you will have to wipe that grin from your face :( The use of 'their' in that context is perfectly acceptable.

Actually, Benny Boy, the boorish bad manners are sadly coming from you and your outdated patriarchal and mysogynistic attitudes :(

Like the majority of sane and reasonable people, I shouldn't think they give a toss :) They have actual safety matters to deal with.

UncleBen Wrote: Thats ironic isn't it! No, it's just > bad manners, and sloppiness of character no more > and no less. Actually it isn't. No more than doing a crossword, knitting or sipping a cup of tea on a train/bus. I am afraid that you will find that you are in the minority here - insisting that a woman applying make-up should be behind closed doors and away from your judging eyes. I take 3 hour train journeys 4 times a month - I moisturise my hands, apply a bit-of eye-shadow as I am often en-route to a night out, eat and drink [non-smelly food], carry out a bit of sewing etc. None of it affects you so kindly stop staring and MYOB. Thanks :)

There are a number of things that could end up sending me and others near me to our grave. I am confident that my twice daily application of moisturiser and once daily application of make-up isn't one of them :) Long live the painted ladies!
