  1. I saw a cougar with a pair of large puppies in Dulwich Park the other day. I believe this is quite common around here.
  2. That reminds me of this little piece of high art, filmed in Budgens on Lordship Lane (there has been previous talk about it so apologies for posting it again)
  3. You chose to live there. If you don't like it, why not move? Or get double glazing?
  4. Cheers for that
  5. Any idea what the pay-as-you-go fares will be from East Dulwich to London Bridge/Charing x?
  6. A candlestick maker (we have a butcher and a baker)
  7. To anyone who doesn't get it, you're not missing much
  8. This is useful, thanks. Hard to strike a balance sometimes, you don't want to be a killjoy but neither do you want a lack of sleep scenario
  9. What's a reasonable time for a 12 year old? Any thoughts?
  10. I love SE22 magazine. It gets all the s**t off my a*se when I run out of loo paper. On a more serious note, yes apparently it's going to be in East Dulwich - nothing to do with Frank's in Peckham.
  11. Huguenot, can you explain why it is so unreasonable to campaign against the cutting of train services to Central London when: a) The East London Line extension WON'T GO THERE and is therefore not a replacement for them b) We have no tube lines in this part of London, meaning we rely more on overland trains than other suburbs c) The train services we do have are relatively infrequent and crowded compared to other parts of London d) The vast majority of commuting is into the centre of town - not East London! I'd love to hear the case for cutting train services - please explain.
  12. I read in SE22 magazine* that a pop-up restaurant is opening locally. Anyone heard anything? *If you consider the term "magazine" to cover a collection of amateurish adverts with blurry photos and strangely ecstatic reviews of local restaurants
  13. I am middle class and I shop at Sainsbury's. Please advise where I should "go back to" lindylou as my family have lived in this area for generations. Any ideas?
  14. The real issue is whether you stand up or sit down whilst wiping your bum. From personal experience the sit-downers are amazed that anyone stands up and vice versa!
  15. If people don't fill out this survey it will be YOUR FAULT TROPICA for being so patronising and alarmist
  16. Dulwich Village = The Daily Telegraph East Dulwich = The Observer
  17. Phew! Thought you meant this Greendale for a minute
  18. Oh dear Woof, such bad taste. And yet, quite funny!
  19. Self-awareness?
  20. Cash Converters. Greggs. Pentecostal church. Poundland.
  21. This is crazy. The police are more clueless than I thought if this is what they're getting up to. Oh dear.
  22. So you've got a book out then.
  23. I thought Locale was overpriced & a let-down. Food & service both better at Si Mangia, which is also cheaper
  24. The thing that irks me is the way long-distance commuters' needs are so often put before those of SE Londoners. The reason why the rush-hour service from places like East Dulwich (always totally rammed) is so infrequent is to allow space for trains from further afield. We have no tube so surely we should have priority?
  25. Never heard Ken Livingstone described as "overtly nasty" before, that's a first! >>The ending of the SLL is because Boris supports North London and wants to see South London rot. That's the party line and we must not let facts blind us. Childish sarcasm I'm afraid. Let's get back to the facts. South London has always been the poor relation in terms of transport in London for a variety of reasons - one of which being certain people's continued snobbery. I'm sure many of us have encountered this - I certainly have.
