  1. When I was a teenager, I called sainsburys on Dog Kennel Hill, lied and told them I'd handed in an application and heard nothing back. They offered me an interview straight away, and I worked over the summer before going away to uni. Worth a try!
  2. I heard the police got wind of the prices, and went to arrest the staff for theft.

  5. Maybe we should do neither, and just forget it and be happy that nothing nasty happened, and nobody has had their life ruined by receiving the text. Nothing to see here.

    Help !

Or there is a new place on Dartmouth Road called sweet fountain (I think). As a new business they may like the idea of helping out in return for some positive promotion.
  7. This thread is absolutely ridiculous. Okay, so the text could have been clearer, and stated that it wasn't a Heber child. Those of you who think it was scare mongering, and could have been a perfectly innocent man offering a young boy a lift, have a word with yourself. Even if it was a man who had no evil intentions, in this day and age, you have no business offering a child a lift. That may be a sad reflection on the world we're living in, but it is true nonetheless.
  8. This has just reminded me of Billy Connolly talking about the rhythm method. ?Only a celibate could come up with the line: ?at the point of ejaculation withdraw.? Oh yeah!?! Is that right Father!?! Well let me tell you something: At the point of ejaculation there isn?t a bloody herd of wild horses that could make my **** go in that direction.?
  9. "Son"? Are you actually an American drill sergeant?

    Boring posts

Didn't mean it like that, just that that thread was really funny for a while.

Aw, I was thinking about the early days of the Quiet Room the other day. Twas awesome for a while.
  12. The sad thing is that it's MM's own joke.

    Euro 2012

To stick up for Gerrard, I don't think he lacked hunger, but he was clearly knackered. Rooney was just shit.
  14. Erm, not a lot you can do about the piss to be fair.

    Euro 2012

Second half was painful viewing, England were brave and all that, but so outplayed. Rooney was rubbish. Young was rubbish all tournament. Carroll done nothing wrong, but not really sure why he was brought on. Milner had his best game, and was unlucky to come off whilst Young stayed on the pitch. Back 4 did themselves proud, and harsh for Cole to miss his penalty. Gutted, but the best team went through.
  16. Ulverscroft Road used to be our playing out street when we were kids. Skate Boards up and down the road. Happy Days!
  17. Depends what you mean by cheap. I'd say the Southward Sports club is pretty cheap for venue hire.
  18. I have a black Sport with doubles kit & cocoon for sale if you're interested. I just need to double check that the tyres are still okay first. PM me if you want more details / a photo. Cocoon doesn't last that long, but it is still one of the best things we owned, as baby slept so well in it, it acted as a Moses basket too.
  19. Exactly. EB is manic, as is any primary school, and I think pre school should be a bit more chilled.
  20. I think electronic pianos have come on enough now that the action and sound will be pretty good even with a midrange model. You can pay a lot for aesthetics so it depends if you care whether it looks like a keyboard on a stand, or more like a wood piano.
  21. " Otta, good idea, though I didn't even know there was a piano shop in Kirkdale!" It's called The Piano Store, 112 Kirkdale (near the top of Dartmouth Road) Tel 020 8291 9842
  22. Southwark Sports & Social Club, Dulwich Common. No neighbours to annoy, nice club house, and relatively cheap. Plus cheap bar for the adults in attendance, so you can set a really bad example.
  23. That and the fact that EB is an uphill mission that I don't really fancy every day in winter! ;-)
  24. This is nothing more than my opinion, but at nursery level, I couldn't care less what OFSTED say (to be honest, I'm not really down with them at any level). I think the place where your child will be happiest and have most fun is the place to go. Our daughter also offered EB, but we're keeping her at the very old fashioned St Barts pre school in Sydenham, because she always comes out smiling.

    Bus strike

So, can anyone actually tell me if this is happening or not? Reading conflicting things.
