How much do they go for DC? I've been thinking of investing too, but wouldn't use it enough to justify a big spend.

    Euro 2012

Thought the commentators were pretty harsh on Shay Givern for the third goal. What exactly did they expect him to do?
  3. The Drum didn't have a late license, but that was pretty much what made it great ;-) Apologies if I was one of the people driving residents to despair.
  4. Don't spend much, she hasn't a clue that it's her birthday. If you have the day off, just spending it with her will be awesome for her.
  5. Rye and surrounding areas.
  6. Hatton helped them by basically moving straight in to the punches.
  7. Whilst traditionally a Godparent would take over care of the child, should the parents die, I don't think your average person who agrees to be a Godparent these days would ever expect to end up with the child. It's more of a buy presents and make sure you turn up to birthday parties kind of role. I've never heard of anyone having "godparents" outside of religion, and basically, agree with Quids that we are talking about Guardians, which is actually very appropriate for East Dulwich!
  8. Burials in inner city areas are just a stupid idea. Who gets buried these days anyway?
  9. I was in the Hob last Friday, and there was a very tight little rock covers band playing 60s & 70s stuff. They did a mean Hendrix. East Dulwich may suit folk and possibly jazz *spits*, but can't think of anywhere that rock would really work.
  10. Manny does seem to be lacking the power in his last couple of fights, that had Ricky Hatton unconscious before he even hit the canvas. Still a very bad decision, but the Manny we've seen recently would be quite easy for Mayweather, whereas a year or 2 ago you couldn't call it.
  11. The problem with the "where you come from" comment is that he might have reacted badly. Other than that, good work.

    Shard 360

Hadn't been to London Bridge for a while, so when I saw the shard from platform 4 the other day, I was well impressed. I think it's a great building.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18378032 Joey Barton really should just shut the fuck up! Not saying that I disagree with everything he says, but he's just such q stupid prick.

I might actually be more likely to make the Spain game to be honest.

Cool, wetting of baby's head AND football!
  19. It's a lovely idea, and I wish you well, but I'm not sure where you'd put it. It's all very well saying "put it on the foxtons site", but that rather large and wealthy foxtons might have something to say on that.
  20. Good old EDF. Whether this lady was mentally I'll, or a hardened criminal, she was in someone's bloody garden, where she had no business being. Agree that a person's skin colour should always be in a DESCRIPTION OF WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE!!!!!! Whatever colour it might be. But the OP did say brown hair tied back, so I assumed white.
  21. In the evening yes, but used to occasionally take a sicky from work, and spend a lazy afternoon in I72 with a mate, and that would involve food. This thread has made me very nostalgic. It was only 7 years ago, but pre marriage and kids, it seems like a lifetime ago! By the way, I'm not sure The Drum had opened at that stage. It mat have opened that year, or 2006, it didn't last long, which is a shame, because it was a fab late night drinking den! :)-D
  22. The Vale had had it's day by 2005. When it first opened as The Vale around 2002/03 it had a spell of being the only late night spot in the area, and we had some laughs in there dancing and getting hammered as 24 year olds. The manager always fancied himself as a bit of q gangster type, and the doormen tended to be arseholes. By 2005 it would be pretty empty on a weekend night as other alternatives had opened. Don't think Black Cherry opened til 2007. EDT has always been there. It was the first place in the area to really modernise circa 2001, and attracted big crowds at weekends. Since then it's always stayed pretty busy. Off the main strip, what is now "The Great Exhibition" was then The CPT (Crystal Palace Tavern). Although it had the reputation of an old mans pub, it did have quite a big number of 20something regulars, of which I was one, who were very friendly with the staff, and would regularly be in the upstairs living quarters drinking on the balcony after hours (happy happy days). Without the CPT, I wouldn't have met half my friends, or my wife. Actually, that does remind me, we had our first snog in The Vale in Jan 05, when we all ended up there having started in The CPT, so The Vale must have still been alright, although that is one of the last times I ever went there. Another shout to Inside 72. It felt like a little bar in Spain, had wicked music and decor. And pink candles stuck in JD bottles with the wax dripping down. Cool! Too much red onion in the steak sandwiches though!!!
  23. Bit late to the discussion. People using words like "beautiful" to describe these paintings are over egging the pudding a bit IMO. I like them though, they're fun and friendly looking, and lets face it, a lot of ED does look a bit drab, so it brightens the place up a bit. I used to love the (very 80s) graffiti on Spurling Road, opposite the EDT.
  24. Parkdrive, there is a new thread specifically about Euro '12. You'll get more response there probably.
