Tried the Guardian one. and got no clear winner. 30% each for Green & LibDem, and 20% each for Ken & Bozza.

KFC blows hot and cold. When it's good, it's damned good, but on other days, it can be really disappointing.

  4. I agree. I think the thing is that Hicks & Gillet were so toxic for the club. Rafa had won the champs league (with Houllier's squad, but there you go), so was an instant hero. He was quite openly critical of the very unpopular owners lack of financial backing (in his opinion), so the fans loved him even more. When he went, H&G probably should have put Kenny in charge, because he would have taken it on (as he genuinely loves the club), and he is the only man the fans would have accepted after Rafa. Instead, they brought in poor Roy, off the back of an impressive season with Fulham, but he was just seen as the owner's pet, and the fans were never going to take to him. Unfortunately, things like Joe Cole's transfer didn't work out, and results on the pitch didn't go to plan. Fans felt that he was too apologetic, and didn't slag off their big rivals enough, and wasn't a "Liverpool Manager". You could argue that he was realistic in what he said, and that the fans don't want to hear realistic. I think the new owners realised that the fans viewed Roy as not good enough for them, and so they got rid of him as a way to instantly get the fans on side. They installed a club legend, and they have been generous with cash for players. How long that will last though, will depend on whether there can be a big improvement. Lets not forget, they could end the season with 2 cups, but, if they do, it will just be painting over the lack of quality depth in the squad over the season. Apparently though, these owners do have a ruthless streak, so I suspect if their patience runs out, they won't let sentimentality get in their way... RE: The Sun, no big surprise, there are enough idiots in the country who buy that rag, so they'll keep on printing the same shite.

It's probably just chicken stock isn't it?

Oooooh, I need to get me a plane ticket to NZ!
  7. I still think that no manager should be sacked after one season. I agree that the signings haven't set the world on fire, but happy to wait for improvement. If they are not serious contenders for the top 4 next season, then I'll probably feel that he's done all he can.

And according to that, I should be voting Green, with Lib Dem second, which is exactly what I WANT to do. Still feel like perhaps I should go for Ken second though, even though I think he's a toad.

  10. Good result for Fulham, but it makes no difference for Liverpool, and their eyes are definitely set on Saturday. Interesting point about Rafa though. Should Kenny not have a better season next time, I think the owners will run out of patience, and I suspect Rafa is the one man on the planet that the match going fans would accept in the place of their King. Personally, I think Dalglish has at least made the team more interesting to watch. Rafa did get results, but his cautious tactics made for boring games at times. I want to see Kenny turn things round and do well next season. If that doesn't happen and he is sacked, I personally would rather not see Rafa back, but I know my opinion would not be popular with a lot (probably a majority) of fans.

I am very much with you on the KFC front. And Pickle, they do do gravy. Traditional "working class" and "middle class" doesn't exist anymore IMO. I think people's values mean a lot more than their income and whether they own a property.
  12. Definitely speak to a GP. It will take an experienced specialist to diognose at that age.
  13. Oops, posted before I'd finished. It's an angle poise desk lamp with daylight bulb. Yours if you want it. One of these
  14. Rosie, through my work with visually impaired people I have done loads of lighting and low vision assessments, and yes, a daylight lamp can markedly improve a person's ability to see to read and do fine detailed tasks. Obviously you're not visually impaired, but if it works for them, I suspect you'd find them useful. Don't go spending your hard earned, I have one sitting in a cupboard that I "inherited" p
  15. I can't believe I have just read that! And people actually go there?
  16. Yeah, cos everyone at Chelsea and Liverpool is a racist.
  17. We had a Polish girl in to do a one off clean over the weekend. It was ?13 an hour, but not sure what cut of that she would have kept, and how much the company (the company seemed to be another Polish lady). Anyway, she was chatting to my wife, and said that having cleaned in the UK for 2 years, she'd sent enough money home to buy a lovely new house with modern everything. She said another year or 2, and she'd have enough dosh to go to uni, and start a good career. I thought bloody good on her, she worked like a trojan, and deserves the rewards that she is making for herself. I can't imagine she'd be better off on benefits, but then, she has a plan. Perhaps if she was planning to stay here long term, and had kids, things might be different, I don't know.
  18. As a Liverpool supporter, I want to see Roy do well, and wish him the very best of luck. Have been quite shocked at some of the comments I've seen on FB, calling him a c**t and a born loser. Liverpool got rid of him and gave Kenny the job, why would people still hold a grudge?!?
  19. Don't think anyone has blamed the manager for not being able to deal with the egos, and yes, the egos are the problem. The answer? Either drop the egos, but risk dropping your best players, or put the egos in their place, like a Ferguson would be able to do. Will be interesting to see whether he picks any Liverpool players!
  20. I think the biggest issue is hios ability to deal with the egos.
  21. You can't get good food in Dulwich Village I'm afraid. Any nice little independent place would never afford the rent I guess.
  22. You're funny UDT. You probably don't realise it, but you are. :))
  23. Erm, not really David. I imagine you'll never get your nails done (although what you do behind closed doors is no one's business but your own) so you'd have no need to read / comment on a nail bar thread. I have eaten, and will no doubt find myself eating burgers again, and thought this was the ideal thread to ask what the big deal is. You misunderstand, I am not saying I can't tell the difference, I am saying a maccas is what it is, and at times, I'll nip in at lunch time, and usually regret it after. The MeatWagon type burger is undoubtedly a far superior quality product, but high quality doesn't necessarily lead to more enjoyable (Fried chicken is about as low grade as you can get, but damn me if it aint tasty). All I was asking is what people go so crazy about, because for me, they are just not that enjoyable, and I'd rather have that meat as a solid steak. Why is it that when anyone comments in the negative about a thing / place you like, or a paper you read, you seem to take it as a personal attack, and defend it like the world would fall apart otherwise. What is wrong with just accepting that different people like different things, and that is cool. Never said it was a class issue, just alluded to the fact that you seem to think that I think everything is about class.
  24. I don't think the video is sick, I just don't think it's funny. Don't worry about UDT, he likes to watch videos, and dreams of attending a Reggae dancehall for real, but if he did, his personality would get him beaten up.

The point of my post was that I was unsure what the point was in dragging up an old thread just to have a bitch. But yes, in future ask my permission, and we'll keep you from going wrong.
