I can echo Laddy Muck's observation that they looked radiant last night - bumped into them in G&B (who knew, huh?)

What's to justify - in the bigger scheme of things it doesn't matter. A quiet back street and some guy eating his lunch. If you had a photo of traffic backed up behind him it would be different They have a tough, shitty job to do and justlike police cars have to break speed limits to catch stolen cars sometimes, these guys get a pass to do their job. It really isn't a big deal

Hehe ? I?d read that! I know what you mean ? there are plenty of things to pick up on and it?s confusing. But don?t think you have to say anything just because you?ve joined. Just be sure to follow some interesting people in whatever you might be interested in (be it politics, arts whatever) ? unfollow the uninteresting ones after a week or so but by then you will have stumbled acrosss many other links and people. And then if you want to contribute you can. But it does consitute most of my news channels now (rather than single newspaper or worse, TV news)

But we don't. We do however live in a society where traffic has become so heavy, on a limited set of roads, with ever increasing volumes, that something needs to be done. Whilst I don't think these cars are the best solution and they can be heavy handed, they are a symptom and not the actual problem So you can count me as one of the public not outraged As for being a cash cow - I wonder what the balance sheet looks like - collection, salaries etc versus income. Except if they lose too many votes by being decisive, they don't have power to enact anything I believe the voters haven't been led down any path here - I think this country is pre-disposed to the current system. So changing it means not them seeing "an opportunity" but a fundamental reevaluation. And I can't see any evidence of that

so does this mean it's the governments fault or the voters fault?

The accuracy and reliability of DNA testing is far from clear-cut Ridgely But let's assume it was 100% - it doesn't mean I (for one) would want public executions brought back

As someone who has a regular 3 hour train ride with work, 3G isn't good enough through a lot of the country. You will be hit by many comms black spots But if you have to use 3G, rather than fork out for a new contract can you use your phone (Android, iphone 4) as a wifi hotspot (ie it pretends to be a wifi hotspot, allowing your wifi ipad to use it's 3g connection)
