Perhaps journalists aren't as samllminded as you are, Otta. Well in Suarez case I think he told more than one lie, don't you think?

There is nothing wrong with my sentence at all. I've seen newspaper journalist using the same expression.

I remembered the dot com crash very well. It was just after companies in the US missed their earnings per share by a few percent. The dot com crash didn't affect Britain because Gordon Brown made sure that the economy, the fourth lagest in the world, was resilient enough. But the US was in recession. -
It was interesting hearing Ian Ayre, Liverpool's managing director, claiming that Suarez had misled Dalglish and him over the hand shake incident. This leaves me to think that Suarez is a compusive liar and willing to lie just about anything including his testimonial to the FA last December. I was wondering if Liverpool FC lacked a moral compass until Ian Ayre had spoken.

Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > Either way, sitting and watching a manager's > interview over 20 times is just weird. This is something that I don't normally do. But I felt it was worth spending five minutes of my time to clarify what was actually said. @Maxxi, Interesting theory but if you look at the other Man Utd players they mostly all had their handshake hands at hip level as well.

Is it any worse than your defending of Suarez? I doubt it, Otta.
-
I replayed the footage over twenty times and the "he shouldn't have done" part wasn't clear tome. Time to move on, AM?

Alan Medic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > he shouldn't have done > that, but maybe it's understandable'. The "he shouldn't have done" part wasn't exactly clear but the "understandable" part was during Alex Ferguson's interview (see posted interview above). No apology is necessary unless Alex Ferguson has clarified his own words. Anyway, the real culprit in yesterday's match was Suarez and his refusal to shake Evra's hand and move on. Like others have said, Evra's behaviour is dragging the club down. Alex said said clearly Evra's behaviour could have caused a riot. @Jah Lush, I've always felt that Spurs lacked that extra bit of 'oomph' in attack but not now. Adebayor and Saha played really well together. Hopefully Saha stays fit with Spurs fighting for the title until the end.

If you follow the BBC footage from 1min 50 secs then you can hear Ferguson saying Evra's celebration was understandable and did not confirm Otta's version of events.
-
Source I've also heard him on TV coverage as well. Typically AM not able to separate facts from fictions. I doubt whether I'd get an apology for his shot in the dark accusation.

Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yes he did. And he said Evra shouldn't have > celebrated like that, which is the point I made. > Keep up. Actually, Fergie said Evra's celebration was understandable.

Here's a better quality version of the Dalglish "I didn't see it but still defended Suarez" video. Then followed by Alex Ferguson branding Suarez as a disgrace. Great to see Fergie recognising how Evra has kept his dignity throughout this sorry episode.

Alex Ferguson branded Suarez a disgrace.

Evra is entitled to celebrate the way he did today considering the amount of abuse he had to put with.
-
There you go, jctg. Dalglish is playing the "I didn't see it" card. He also seems very evasive in his answers when questioned in depth.

Well try Oven Mate which is available from Lakeland. If that fails then buy yourself a new oven with a pyrolytic feature.

+1 for Oven Pride Make sure you wear old clothes while using the product.

Targets started under the Tories during the 1990s and progressed under Labour. I'm not a fan of targets but how do you measure performance without them? -

My name is related to the legendary Motown group 'The Undisputedtruth' and see no reason why this group is subjected to attention on this forum. So it does give me a giggle when people think otherwise. But that's their problem and not mine. And as for the insults then all what I can say is that I was telling it as it is as opposed to be intentionally rude. Afterall, this is the "Right Wingers are less intelligent" thread, right? Many years ago, around 2000/2001, I attended a couple of Tony Blair's conferences and he spoke about investing in schools and hospitals. The point he made was this spending was about giving people the 'feel good' factor when they visited a new school or hospital. Improvements in targets was secondary. -

It's telling when you see all these right wingers spouting hearsays as facts. Obviously indiepanda hasn't heard of the dot com crash and its implact on global economies including Europe but excluding the UK. -
