  1. I was born and bred in Cannock in the 60s and 70s. At that time it was a rather down trodden place with little to do. I went to college in Brighton, afterwards I went back home and worked in Wolverhampton as a Civil Servant. I was frustrated at work and home. Met a girl on holiday in Morocco, she lived in London. I transfered down to London. That relationship ended, another started so I moved from Harlesden to Brixton Hill. That relationship ended and I moved from Brixton Hill to Camberwell. I finally made it over the border to SE22 a few years ago. I expected to be in London for 5 years, 20 years later ...
  2. Mockers said "there's even a pub named after my great ... great grandfather in Deptford" Not .... The Royal George?? Your Majesty! *Drops to one knee, doffs cap, tugs forlock, falls over*
  3. The Frenchies have dismally failed in their attempts to create a world wide fast food brand. Have you heard of French Fried Frog? No. Crashed and burnt; as did SnailULike. An English chap mixes snails and porridge and creates a hit. Therefore, what do the Frenchies know about food? Nuffink.
  4. FANTASTIC! Finally, we have a an ED Mystery Big Cat, we have lacked this and I am so pleased that we have not one but two, maybe a breeding pair? Lets hope so. It might keep the squirrels and parakeets down. I was in Dulwich Park ther day and I am sure I saw something strange, dark, glossy, muscular (not Dulwichmum's leg) slipping through the waters of the lake ...
  5. It was a good evening. The food was great, I have a memory of the food in the Surma being bland but not any more. As Matthew says, the do make a huge amount of their Forum award from about 2 years ago.
  6. Got a leaflet through the door today. I shall toddle up and have a go.
  7. Have a stroll around Nunhead Cemetary - loads of people just dump flowers up there.
  8. "Big building next to that green space" - Sainsburys? St Peters Church? Dulwich College? The Peckham Rye caff?
  9. In warm weather a bottle of weak lemon barley squash is a boon. Tip - dont use water soluble pens, its a bugger when it rains and you lose your numbers.
  10. What is this thread about again?
  11. Did you make a note of the registration number?
  12. I rather enjoyed seeing the sunglasses that I wont be wearing this season.
  13. I have booked a table at Surma for 8pm tomorrow. Meet at 7.30 in the EDT for a sharpener? See you tomorrow.
  14. I shall work from Home and watch the fun on the telly.
  15. Its a Puma! Designed in France, ours were built in the UK by Westland (as was) under licence. Nice one Matthew.
  16. How odd, a picture of my balcony from early summer 08 - the great wall of beans is still in its infancy.
  17. The Green Parakeets have started squawking even louder around Goose Green, Peckham Rye and Dulwich Woods. Antipodean sap is rising it would seem.
  18. Welcome back Fiscaroo by the way.
  19. Anyway, what was it doing near ED Sainsbos? Perhaps a Royal Prince needed some Rizzlers and a four-pack?
  20. ... and Agusta bought GKN's share in 2004 thus creating AgustaWestland. Keep up.
  21. Ref The Nolans - I still watch Loose Women on occasion - oh blimey there's another dirty secret. They do just pop out. I once gained access to an RAF base and its aircraft by waving my credit card at the security guard as we drove past, my RAF mates waving their genuine ID cards. We then took photos of the even then, rather ancient Canberra bombers. Challenged by an Officer one of the RAF mates claimed that we were from "28 Squadron" (didnt exist) and were here for an exercise and had permission to take photos. Satisfied, the Steely Eyed Killer walked off and we legged it.
