  1. I think that the EDT will contain a goodly number of Forumites this coming Saturday!
  2. Greggs = 2 sausage rolls = 99p Feed a family of 4 for a week they will.
  3. Nichiyobi said "Worried they're all going to be short now though" Be a little more open minded, dont see the problem SEE the solution.. :)) I speak as a chap of less than optimum height you understand.
  4. I guess the internet is just another way of meeting people - which can be so difficult in London. I havent tried it myself (indolence mostly) but know people who have with the inevitably varied results. One friend is now happily married to a very decent chap she "met" in a chat-room (he really was mid-40s, divorced, GSOH and a company Director) another had no luck whatsoever, but did use t'interweb to find an ex from 25 years ago and they are now living together in Berlin. Interestingly, both friends used to be married to each other. Others have followed something of a pattern, they have met people via the internet with little success, but then met somebody in the usual face to face way and found a partner, maybe the experience of internet dating made them more open and positive about meeting new people?
  5. Never ever ever ever ever Unless someone wants to pay me
  6. If a private individual had painted over the mural they would have been condemned as a vandal and done for criminal damage. Southwark Council vandalises the mural and, um, nothing happens.
  7. In the car? In the fridge? In the coat/jacket/pullover/trousres/skirt that you were wearing 10 days ago? Under the bed? In a cupboard? While you are at it - please could you tell me where the Victorian tin with my sewing stuff has gone?
  8. I fear I will vote Tory. Labour have become too authoritarian for my liking and will make law breakers of far too many people. I hope that the Tories have learned the lessons of their past. No party should be for too long lest they lose their edge.
  9. I think he meant what he said. There was opposition to the Tram based on the disrution that the building of a terminus would cause. Personally, I would put general economic regeneration before art.
  10. Cant - its a secret. All will be revealed soon as OOF gets his act together!
  11. Charliecharlie in my experience the internals of the Lodge are very much as your photo depicts. Please folks, remember your sun tan lotions and blocks, especially us tender skinned and delicate Ginger types.
  12. Soak it in water infused with liquid fertiliser and hydroponically grow some water cress and mustard. How green is that?
  13. Keycamp holiday - stay in a posh mobile home on a civilised camp site. No need to pay out vast somes of money for a villa.
  14. Have people who have had take-aways been affected?
  15. There was this too Vile A sausage made of tubes. I wretched as soon as I stuck my knife into it.
  16. Huguenot said - "As they (drunken prawns) became progressively pissed, you dragged 'em out, peeled their sluggish bodies and popped them into your mouth, washing them down with a slug from the tumbler." See, alcohol marinaded prawns I can cope with BUT, slug is just wrong. THE most horrid thing ever was to be found in Cannock bus station in the early hours during the late 70s and early 80s. A small hut run by a bloke called Ashe who sold tinned burgers, heated in boiled water. The only food available late at night as you fell off the bus from the bright lights of Brum or Wolverhampton. They could only be eaten when you were hammered and in the dark. Thankfully the joys of a kebaberia were introduced to Cannock in the mid-80s - an improvement would you believe.
  17. Deep fried assorted bugs - Bangkok street food. Tasted of deep friend ... stuff. I teethed on dog biscuits. I particularly liked the black ones apparently.
  18. I am no longer spending all day in Brum - Hurrah and much relief to a fellow Forumite. I will be there 8ish. Maybe earlier.
  19. It was better in my day and the milk tasted better.
  20. I got into my car this morning. Turned the key and the all 4 doors popped off, closely followed by the bonnet and the boot door. Neighbours tell me that they saw a suspiciously pale man in a pointy hat and spangle jump suit loitering nearby late last night.
  21. Oh for the great days of the Quiet Room. Of late the Forum has reminded me of really bad stand-up comedians who think that, in the absence of natural wit and humour, saying F*ck alot is funny.
  22. "the Gala event was actually used to raise bursary funds" Oh thats all right then! It was to fund poor kids going to a posh school, thus the community should be grateful for the disturbance and lack of sleep "it was a very special night" Pity it wasnt a very special afternoon or early evening, thus allowing those who have to get up in the morning to go to work to get some sleep
  23. .. and another thing. Occupation has nothing to do with the acceptability of language used in a public place. Use F and C all you want in a Pub - which is a controlled environment and is not an open arena. The Forum is a public place and so the use of bad language is as bad here as it would be on a bus or in a Supermarket. Just because people do it, doesnt make it right and is certainly not big and clever.
