  1. Some good general advice on extensions, inc loft conversions, for the layperson... http://www.homebuilding.co.uk/advice/existing-homes/extending/20-things-you-need-know-extending-your-home ETA: Since the article was published, PD rights have been temporarily relaxed with respect to rear extensions.
  2. No, my middle name isn't BJ, thank you very much!
  3. It's back! As well as the new footy season, the Friday Caption Contest will hopefully be a regular feature... http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/08/15/article-2394545-1B4C3738000005DC-292_636x463.jpg Are you sure you want me to man-mark Fellaini at corners Gaffer?
  4. Ted Lasso's predictions... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23667286
  5. I wish England, like the Scots, would have our own anthem for sporting events, rather than using the dirge that is God Save the Queen. Which reminds me of this Billy Connolly sketch...

  11. I enjoyed last night's game, as friendlies go it was actually quite competitive, and always nice to beat the Scots and send them home tae think again. Even an old fashioned centre forward's goal for misty eyed Jah too :)

Ok, I apologise for saying you 'admitted' to using gamemanship, you didn't. You discovered a flaw in the aggregate score rule for the CL game. Did you not use it to your advantage? If not, how did you actually go about making a prediction? As for guilt, that is between you and your conscience. > For someone so happy to sling mud in my direction you > seem very defensive about having some thrown back! And you're not?...
  13. Ah, the old ixxam theory, to every nagative there's a positive, except in football you get draws... ;-)
  14. As I said before Ots & Jah, I've no problem him wanting to leave for personal or footballing reasons a la Ronaldo, if that's the case he should just come out and say so. Instead we get him turning up at a golf course in Surrey near Chelsea's training ground...removing from his Twitter account that he's a Utd player...a one-off Facebook comment thanking Roy Hodgson for showing belief in him. That's all very big of you Wayne, poor thing, had his nose put out of joint by RVP. If he was such a 'streetfighter' he would've knuckled down and proved to everyone what a 'big man' he really is. Instead we've had 6 months of him sulking away like a spoilt brat. He's ruined what could've been a legendry status at the club, but you know what, I don't think he cares. Jah's right about the modern day footballer, they also have no concept of legacy. This is all his own making. The club won't sell him to a domestic rival without getting in a quality replacement, so the sooner he realises that the better. This time the club hold the aces. My guess is that the club will get one more year from him, knowing that he has no option but to play well as it's a World Cup year, and then sell him next summer once a suitable replacement is found...
  15. I wonder what time Rooney will pull up 'injured' so he doesn't have to play this weekend. My guess is on 40 minutes, when he first gets a whiff of the half-time pies...
  16. I haven't got the time or inclination to totally disprove your slanderous accusation, suffice to say, the only strategy I used, which I had openly revealed, was to keep my predictions around the 2-1 scoreline, give or take the odd goal depending on who was playing. Occasionally I would drop in a 4-0 type scoreline, because occasionally that happens, but by and large I think statistically most results end up around 2-1, a slight advantage for the home team. Using that strategy it was totally irrelevant what other players had predicted. In the final few weeks my lead at the top was actually halved by ????. I suppose your suspicious mind will conclude that was deliberate, part of 'The Masterplan'. In case you're forgetting I also won the FA Cup, a head to head format which required secret predictions. Maybe I should apologise for not revealing my Stasi trained telepathic skills beforehand. Finally, why would I opt for an online system this season where other predictions won't be seen? Re. Otta: that was a classic case of you feeling guilty after the event, trying to right a wrong after you admitted to using gamemanship...
  17. I've decided I'm going to post rogue predictions in order to throw Meds off the scent...Game, Set, and Match.
  18. For those who want to go public with their predictions. If you do, best to wait until Meds posts his predictions first though... Week 1 Saturday 17th August 2013 Liverpool V Stoke Arsenal V Aston Villa Norwich V Everton Sunderland V Fulham West Brom V Southampton West Ham V Cardiff Swansea V Man Utd Sunday 18th August 2013 Crystal Palace V Tottenham Chelsea V Hull Monday 19th August 2013 Man City V Newcastle

  21. Anyone would think Spurs were trying to buy 4th place. Joking aside, if Spurs keep Bale + new signings it could be a 4-way fight for the League...
  22. Doesn't look like it, probably to stop gamesmanship (see Meds). I've noticed all the stated kick-off times are an hour early...
  23. Can Spurs afford the money they've already spent on transfers without selling Bale? Last time I looked it was ?50+, and now talk of further player investment...
  24. Liverpool won't have lost that much as there would've been lots of add-ons in the headline fee. Then again West Ham probably won't be paying the full headline fee. Madrid were apparently looking to buy Bale on the never never, repayments spread over 6 years...el Wonga! :)
