Hello Predictors. As last season's inaugural game was such a roaring success, I thought this season it merited it's own thread, so as not to hijack the main footy thread. With just over 3 weeks to go before the big kick-off, the first thing to do is get an idea of the number of players and then decide what game format the League should take. Unless I hear otherwise, I will assume that all of last year's participants will join in again. So I just need to hear from any newbies out there. As for the format, I personally quite like the simplicity of the Lawro game which we used last season, but I haven't yet found an online game version. EP, did you find any time to look at developing an app? There are a few other online versions, but the scoring systems are a lot more complicated... http://www.predictfootballscore.com/ http://www.predictthepremiership.com/ http://predictor.talksport.co.uk/help/index.htm Thoughts/comments/feedback appreciated...

Would the last 35-43 year old to leave East Dulwich.....
red devil replied to MrBen's topic in The Lounge
My advice to anyone on a joint income of ?90k pa is to sit tight on your affluent arses, forget about moving out of London, stop feeling sorry for yourself and instead emabrace and enjoy what London has to offer, whilst waiting for the ensuing carnage when interest rates head North. Then you can sit with smug smiles and say I told you so!.. -
Arsenal are playing a dangerous game with their fans if they are only 'testing the water' with Suarez. They've already lost out on what every one thought was a done deal for Higuain. I sense the natives might become even more restless...

Would the last 35-43 year old to leave East Dulwich.....

I think what MrB describes is a unique variant/phenomenon. However I don't think what he describes is as prevalent as he thinks it is. He's probably just more acutely aware of it as it affects his immediate peer group. I for instance don't know anyone in such circumstances. The modern day housing market continually throws up these variants/phenomena, as people learn to adapt to continually changing market conditions, hence why we've had/have buy to let, the bank of Mum & Dad, empty nesters selling up and returning to the city to live in smart apartments, Generation Rent, and so on... -
Suarez interested in Arsenal is a strange one. Did he not cite the English press as a reason for wanting to leave in the first place? It's actually going to be an interesting battle of wills between the two clubs, one that neither can afford to lose...

anyone had more than 3m side return extension??
red devil replied to rafsta's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
That's right Penguin68, as I previously explained to you on page 2 of this thread (with the correct base date) ;-) http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1102274,page=2 LondonMix...thanks for the links, I couldn't open the Crawthew link but I get the gist of it from the Pellat link. Crawthew added a dormer rather than a full-on additional storey. Not sure what Tre intended in their original post, but looks like a dormer is the way to go if possible with internal floor levels etc. I would imagine any windows would have to be obscure to comply with Class B requitrements, as they would be on a 'side elevation', thus getting over the overlooking problem, not ideal for a bedroom, but a clear window could be added to elevation that looks over the rear of the garden... -

That's interesting about Crawthew, LM. Do you have a link to it?.. -
Transferring Digital Photos from Laptop to SD Card...

No idea Ian. It's not a dealbreaker for me that I can't get them back onto the camera, I was just curious why they wouldn't go back. I haven't been to Boots yet Foxy, but like you say, I'm sure their machine will be able to read the SD card, and I presume I'll be able to choose which photo to print off. I shall take a USB stick as back-up just in case... -

I'm not sure if building a third storey would be classed as an extension (Class A of Permitted Development rights) or a roof alteration (Class B ). I think you need to get confirmation from the planners. For alterations to existing roofs the allowance for a terraced house is 40 cubic metres, not square metres. If the existing main roof has previously been extended i.e. loft conversion, dormers etc, then the volume of these additions has to be subtracted from the 40m3 allowance. Loss of light comes under civil law, not planning law... -
Transferring Digital Photos from Laptop to SD Card...

Thanks KK and Foxy. EP...this came about as I wanted to print off photos using one of those machines in Boots/Snappy Snaps, which you can do via an SD card, CD, USB stick etc. I was just curious why it wouldn't appear back on my camera. I thought it would be quite a simple task...obviously not! :) -
Transferring Digital Photos from Laptop to SD Card...
red devil replied to red devil's topic in The Lounge
I thought that might be a problem KK. So I took some photos and made sure the photo I wanted to transfer was in the same folder...still no sign of it back in the camera though. -
I've never had a problem transferring digital photos from my camera (Canon Ixus) to my laptop, to do this I use a USB cable connection rather than taking out the SD card from the camera. However, I'm having no joy trying to do the reverse. First of all I tried the USB cable connection but no option came up in the menu box to transfer photos back onto the card. So I removed the SD card from my camera, stuck it in the SD port on my laptop, and drag and dropped a photo onto the SD card. But when I put the SD card back into my camera, there's no sign of it. Any ideas?...

Seconded. If there are any forumites at the festival, could you please pull the plug on any power cables just as the Mumfords are about to take to the stage. Thanks in advance... -

Total tosspot. > > Anyway, back to Glastonbury. Can't wait for Chic. I was an NME reader from late 70's to mid/late-80's, probably stopped reading it around the time when the Smiths broke up and everyone went off their tits on E...there's only so much walking around rainy Manchester in a long overcoat a man can take. Sounds was a big no-no with all the Oi! and Gary Bushell stuff, also very London centric. The NME tried to champion a left wing skinhead sensitivity with The RedSkins who had NME journo XMoore in their line-up. But for me the whole music/politics died once bands affiliated themselves to political mouthpieces like Red Wedge etc. It wasn't fun anymore, unlike back in the day with the ANL and RAR, propa tear ups eh Quids ;-) -

How good were Chic last night. I thought I'd be channel hopping between them and the Arctics, but there was no contest. I was a teenage Punk/New Wave, and malumbu you're right, Disco was supposed to be the enemy, so imagine my surprise when I rooted out my old C60 recordings of the Top 30, quite an eclectic bunch...Pistols, Clash, Damned, Sham 69 etc alongside Chic, Frantique, Edwin Starr. I obviously had better taste than you ;-)...fook knows how Gary Moore's Parisien Walkways got in there though... -
