Forgot to mention, there is an email reminder alert you can set up, so no excuse for missing a week, unless you've got the scurvy. I will also try and post a reminder in this thread...if I remember. I'm happy to carry on organising the Champions League and FA Cup games as before, although I might look at changing the format of the CL to take in the first group stages, watch this space...

Ok, decision made, we're going ahead with this online game... http://www.predictaddict.co.uk/Default.aspx It was simple to join and set up, with points based on the Lawro scoring system. A shame there won't be a maxxi or the weekly coupon buster, but let's see how it develops. You will need to register. As someone has already mentioned, make sure you use your EDF name, or else we won't know who you are. It will ask you for your owner name (I put down Red Devil 2...someone already called Red Devil). It will also ask you for your first name and surname, again I used Red (first) and Devil (surname)...this has worked ok. It will also ask for an email address and password, neither of which are made public. Those of you with one EDF name will have to be creative. Using Parkdrive as an example...put Parkdrive as the owner name, Park as the first name, and Drive as the surname. For those of you with short single names like Otta, ????, maxxi etc, I would use that as your owner name and first name, and use anything you deem suitable for your surname. I've created a mini league which has the pin number 43795. See you in there!...

It would Meds, but I'm worried about people losing interest should they miss a week or two due to illness, holiday or simply forgetting. Out of 13 players only 4 had a 100% record, 3 out of the final top 4. That's why we had the maxxi, to keep people interested....

An alternative to original cast iron is tubular steel. This company stocks them...http://www.simplyradiators.co.uk/pages/tubular.htm I used them for supplying standard rads and their service was good.

Try Whitten Timber, Gibbs & Dandy, and Jewsons for skirtings, all have local branches. Skirtings tend to be 'solid wood', it's actually a softwood. You can get MDF skirtings. Never used them though, no character. What style of rad are you looking at. ?250 isn't a lot if you're after big old school type rads...

I listen to a basic French course on my iTouch when I'm travelling, sitting in the garden etc. It's just like listening to any music, over time you begin to remember the 'lyrics'. It's a good way to pick up the basics of the French vocabulary. A better way might be to try and find a (very patient) French speaker, with who you can just casually sit down and chat with, maybe a French speaker who wants to improve their English, rather than sitting down lesson style and trying to learn like your partner did. But if you think rigid lessons will work for you, you could try evening classes, courses usually start in the Autumn. Bonne chance!...

The 4 games I've given links to have all got the facility for a private mini-league, but apart from the 'predictaddict' game, the scoring system in each one is different from the Lawro system we were using. I haven't totally ruled out using last years DIY set-up. I'll have a proper look at all the options this weekend and make a decision. I agree about using forum names. I did that with the Telegraph's fantasy horse racing game, although it's a bit disconcerting getting an email addressed as Dear Mr Devil...

PGC is right, sartorial Millwall fans also wear matching knuckledusters and steel toe-cap boots...I hope you're Googling all this. -

northwoods, ???? is what is known as Care in the Community, best to humour him. He usually goes away, well Monday to Thurs pm he does...I think it's when he takes his medicine. Why don't you start off by supporting your local team, Dulwich Hamlet, and see how you get on... -

Now the big question...would tha fans ever consider selling up to a mega cash rich investor, who would have sole ownership?..

However, Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Gordon Taylor explained there is no clause in the player's deal that means Liverpool have to sell him if a club offers more than ?40m. "If there is a minimum offer of ?40m then the parties will discuss things but it does not say the club has to sell," said Taylor. "There is a 'good faith' clause in relation to serious discussions, but I can't say it is a cast-iron buy-out clause." Gonna get messy.

Money does come into it with CR, not so much the amount, more the heirarchy, i.e he has to be top earner. Oh, and CR will have to take the free-kicks, take note Gareth. The top tier of footballers have egos bigger than their wallets. The Rooney situation is all about him now being second in line to RVP. Careful what you wish for eh Wayne...

In my dreams, yes Meds. You missed out the bit where I personally drive Rooney to the airport...

I wonder why Nicol > might want to undermine the current manager? I can't see Utd getting rid of Rooney without getting in a high quality replacement. I had a think earlier and the only names I could think of who would fit the bill and are 'available' are Lewandowski, who will be going to Munich next year, and..........Suarez!!!!!! That would certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons...

I've no problem with Rooney wanting to leave for the reasons you cite. We had no problems with Ronaldo doing the same, infact he was given the best reception I've ever heard at OT when he returned with Madrid last season. The problem most Utd fans have with Rooney is the way he i.e. his advisors, go about it... ETA: grammar

Watch and learn indeed. You've spectacularly missed the point I was making, that being what does Suraez have to do for Liverpool fans to get the hump. There's no hypocracy concerning the current Rooney situation, totally different set of circumstances. Utd fans may have forgiven him but we didn't forget...

ratty, how does the heirarchy work in a supporter's owned club? How did you go about appointing the Board, manager etc. Did you vote amongst yourselves as to who would be elected to the Board?...
-
After a summer of public statements saying he wanted to leave Liverpool, get away from the British press etc, I was surprised that Liverpool supporters gave Suarez a standing ovation at Stevie G's testimonial at the weekend. What does he have to do/say for their fans to take off the blinkers? Obviously his racism was ok with them, and so was the odd bit of cannibalism. Maybe not acknowledging the ovation and then subsequently not turning up for Gerrard's testimonial dinner will be the tipping point? Or how about his threat of legal action, something he has previous for whilst he was at Gronnigen and trying to engineer a move to Ajax...sounds familiar? Or maybe it's today's latest public ''let me leave'' plea. Prey tell, Liverpool fans. I obviously realise Utd have a similar situation with the angry and confused pieman. However, if he plays in the Charity Shield match this weekend I don't think he'll get anything remotely like a standing ovation, infact more likely the opposite. Watch and learn Liverpool fans...
