  1. Odd. The US is the most Free markety country on earth ( apart from Somalia, but thats another discussion ), yet they resolutely keep the Postal service protected and prioritised - crimes aginst the Postal services are heavily punished. Whereas we seem to want to wash our hands of it - its not surprising thet ED posties share their sweaty handed bosses l;ack of commitment to the whole industry. No one wants to work for the PO any more.

I would find it difficult to muster the enthusiasm to register with a forum and make a first post about a butchers I must admit.
  4. If he was a deadringer for errol flynn, then it was me. I think tons of people were in the same situation tho'
  5. Its easy to point out the faults with unions, but we would be in a far sorrier postion than we are now without them & their work. anyway, ED posties - I waited about a month for a special thing that never turned up - even though it was next day delivery. There wss the strike of course, which mucked everything up for a fortnight or longer, but after 3 weeks I dug out the tracking number the sender had mailed me and lo! apparently it had attempted to be delivered the previous week - No card / no note / nothing I scuttled down to the PO and explained this to the chappies, who went and dug around in the back and found it - Yes, it appears that many parcels were not even taken out of the office, but scanned and recorded as failed delivery cos of management instruction, hence the lack of information on it - the counter fellow knew this and wasnt surprised when I was unable to produce a card
  6. England are pot 2 now just like the Scots! 11th in world vs 13th according to latest reckonings

  8. English flag manugfacturers face lean summer English pubs face lean summer Roast beef sellers face lean summer etc etc etc
  9. was a fantastic player at his peak, but was integral to starting & maintaining the rot at NUFC that started when King Kev walked out
  10. hahaha They have FREE internet access by all accounts...just go in AND USE IT...why bother paying to use the 'net cafe beside the Palmerston when its FREEE at Osbournes!
  11. "?Callous asylum seekers are barbecuing the Queen?s swans, the Sun can reveal. East European poachers lure the protected royal birds into baited traps, am official Met Police report says.?" The Sun July 2003
  12. Shearer has been ( semi privately ) broadcasting his availability for some kind of role in the new set up.

  14. If foxyas had any sense, they would use the forum for a bit of free PR like other newbies seem to do, usually to a round of applause. I suspect that the opposition is spreading disimformation this way judging by some of the posts above what a seedy world we live in where people feel the need to bluster their postive points and/ or lie in order to make money parasites the lot of the them
  15. The illegal immigants have eaten all the swans apparently
  16. Non typical sexist comment Carys = saucey I dont know why, but...
  17. England were shite. Im sorry, but even my jaundiced viewpoint has some resonance here. I dont really take that much pleasure from this - I only really get the hump When England do well at Scotlands expense/ detriment. BTW, if the home internationals are resurrcted, Scotland & the Non Irons would stuff England judging the tonights match
  18. I know. Fooling some of the people all of the time is apt here.
  19. I have to admit that I have been into WR once with a note from mrs Snorky for some steak or something I dont touch. It was a bit offhand when I read the requitrement from the note - eye rolling & tutting - the meat was thumped down, wrapped and money demanded with no please or thank you Obviously this was a sample of 1 trip and Im not likely to hang with me butcher bludz on an evening, so am not really in any position to judge one way or another on the situation they were very busy though, so its maybe not the best time to draw any conclusion.

  21. Foxys are run by an aggressive private equity group IIRC - I think they have no problem using a loss leader Blitzkrieg approach to cornering the market, but ther sheer size of their organisation. The smaller EA will suffer as foxytons secure a foothold - I am pessimistic of course. The again, its up to us. if we use them, they will stay - if we dont, they will rethink their strategy. The amount of ( probabaly overpriced and speculative ) for sale signs does indicate most people are not bothered by Foxtons - then again, most people would use Dennis Neilsen estatee agents if they offered 0.5% flat rate commission I suspect
  22. If foxtons wont listen to reason, then they must be pushed into reconsidering their stance by whatever means possible.
  23. Dont mean to be antagonostic - but someone touched on this earlier- the attitude of some of the ED customers is utterly appalling from what I have witnessed - the "talking down" to people who work in shops is teeth grating sometimes - You can feel the tension between shop owner/ assistant & customer.Attitudes towards people who work in shops does seem to have a changed amongst certian sections of the populace. Some places however do have an attitude when you arrive , whatever your outlook as a prospective customer - I dont have to list them - we all know who they are Ralon is a bit tense, but thats always been the case oddly enough, the victims who seem to want to queue up at these handful of places are fawning over the owners, so maybe its not surprising they get treated in such a derisory manner. If you feel the urge to pay inflated prices and experience arrogant service, then maybe you are asking for it
  24. You are very wrong of course about bex.
