Its sets a precedent and allows business to determine what happens in our neighbourhood the product is irrelevant here - be it Coffee, depleted Uranium, day old kittens or an asbestos plant. I dont have ( misplaced ) beef with chains vs. locals - theres a great deal of rubbish spoken on this subject by those with an agenda, but any business dictating the development is wrong. Nero may not be the first, but they should be sorted out and made a bright shining example of, now thatr this is getting a higher profile - it could serve as a warning to other rapacious businesses Remember these shops are not here to help to "community" - they are here to extract as much cash as they can from the residents - they ignored basic planning laws to make money - thats the bottom line - this isnt like a charity for kittens rescued from a hessian sack in a canal building an extra shed in their back yard to save the kittens lives - this is about money Do you have any values or a moral code to try and live by ? Sadly , It would seem not.

Housing will always be subject to the cyclical boom and bust, due to the social fabric of Britain & the encomony behind it - I cant be arsed to go into "why", but its not too difficult Until there is a decent , regulated and fair system of rented accomodation as an alternative to ownership, then expect this cycle to continue, grabbing headlines in the Daily mail on an almost daily basis. The oft quoted example of Germany ith its fair transparent pricing & protection for long standibng tenants means that for many, the oowner4ship of a house if a luxury - its not about security. This means that housing isnt such an issue and the ( traditionally careful with money german public) dont fall into the trap of the feeding frenzy and its bulemic aftermath that seems to typify our uhnealthy relationship with our homes. Imagine the scenatio - no need for 247 estate agents on LL, the end of foxtons parasites hawking their tainted services around the manor, less concerns about house prices.... the benefits of a decent social democratic approach to the staple of secure decent housing would have so many benefits for society as whole. -

I > let them know that too! (6) But I believe that if > you take their number, you can report them for > refusing. But they can also claim a legitimate excuse every time - eg was on my way home and was only looking for a fare towards Chigwell etc - you cant win Ive been refused at Heathrow - openly laughed at by the entire rank when I went down and tried very single cab to go to SE22 - sober/ in a suit/ cash fare - had to get heathrow express I spoke to the rank captain fellow who effectively said they can do what they want and there is f*ck all chance of you making a case unless you happen to be a copper/ magistrate/ GLA official or suchlike - they dont like going too far as the chances of them getting another fare back for SE22 to their base at Heathrow is low to say the least - Chelsea or Kensington no problem, but no SE London - they prefer foreigners who will tip heavily & may not know the quickest way to their destination - speaking like a resident who knwos his geography will get you nowhere wating in the rank for an hour and faced with a fareless ride back to T4 isnt in their wishlist. Since that day, I find it hard to give them the benefit of the doubt - which is sad for the majority of cabbies who are probably straight and deserve better

tsk tsk tsk peasants. its all about how you speak to the driver fellow "You go South of the River mate ?" = No chance/ Im on me way home / im on me break /im going to a prearranged booking etc etc etc "East Dulwich ? "= Yes guv no problem ( its amazing how ED has got a reputation for being " nice" nowadays)

IT depends on what subject is being discussed If its got Gods backing, then you cant critisise Example of belief held : BNP = extreme views, but NO god given authority , thefore you can slag them off & gag them Radical Islam ( or hard line Catholisism or US Born Again Christinaity ) = extreme views, but HAVE god Given permission to do it, so you should be carful not to offend MY opinion ? - Let them all speak and debate in public if they want to hold such views and broadcast them, bu that might leave them exposed to some unfortunate questions that they will not be able to dodge

You can name you kids after MH as its a sign of respect - akin to latinos calling their Kids Jesus - you are not actually saying that yer kid is a prophet naming a teddy after MH could be viewed ( in a suinty way by some ) to be attempting to create an effigy of a prophet for fetishment purposes and thats against the rules, cos its Idolatry and thats expressly forbidden It gets complicated here, but its all to do with images or recreations of living things mocking rather than glorifying AL, cos hes made them and any attempt to copy his work is sort of koran copyright and a big sin ( depending on how you interpret it of course )

*lays out stall* All religions are complete and utter rubbish - Im sure we all agree on this - all sensible people do.(ha) this Idolatry busines sis all cobblers If there is a God & he is indeed Good, then Im sure he is agreeing with Snorky on this organsied relion farce BUT Anyone going to one of the places must, surely, be given a lesson in the culture and peculiarities that you must observe- whether you accept them or not, you have volunteered to work in the place. Ditto Brits who get lashed for brewing bathtub gin in Saudi Arabia - its not right, but what do you expect ? I realise that this woman probabaly did this without thinking and no harm was meant by it, but this is a not too compliacted basic idea in the rules in these places - surely she should have been advised or given a refresher before taking on such a job ? I may not agre with standing up for thr national anthem in the USA, but should I sit on my spotty arse and cat call sarcastic comments whislt otyhers are doping it , then I am laying myself wide opne to a reaction

I think the distinction between local / chains is a red herring in most cases - tney have the same base motivation, whether they are 1 or 1000 shops. Price has got nothing to do with it - all stores they charge whatever thay can get away wioth - we all know that Where I do object is anyone riding over laws for their own finciacial benefit - be it Blue Mountain cafe, Neros or EDD

eggzacly a house is " worth" 500K - commission @ 2.5% = ?12,500 It drops to ?450K - commission @ 2.5% = ?11,250 The difference would hardly pay for a service on their vulgar little scrotum minis and a team night drink at the Black Cherry -

They have a great deal of cash behind them - I would not shed a tear for Foxtons - like cockroaches after a nuclear armageddon , they will emerge all shiny and cockier than ever I wonder if foxtons read the board ? Indeed, can they actually read ? -
Its to stop idolatry and fetishment
-
They will get away with it - they always do sadly Please dont sign the petition - they have opened up without usual consent in a drive to make maoney - they are not a charity , they dont offer accomodation for striken orphans - they opened to make cash, thats it - the breached laws to make money , however you look at it. As the manics said : If you tolerate this, your children will be next

We fought for 5 years,to > increase parking for residents and shoppers,i > myself go out and warn motorists not to park in > certain areas. I dont want to get into this again, but the traffic snarled and often dangerous LL is primarily the result of commericial interests lobbying to defend their own corner. I think its is offensive to attempt to justify this as a service to residents. anyway, on with the show The problem is laziness & habit in most cases - be it commuters driving from Nunhead or locals just popping to the local shops for whatever. There will of course be cases where a car is needed even for short runs, but not in the vast majority of cases. With the tsunami of dropped kerbs that seems to be flooding the area,Foxtons and their kin, there is less parking anyway. This isnt going to change of its own accord, due to the inherent selfish nature of Commuters and business - few people have the space or opportunity to think on a wider basis about the results of their actions. As we all know ( or should by now ) increasing motor access and parking, only increases the atractiveness of an area to new traffic not yet built into the planning equation - you can never have enough roads or parking - Liberalisation of motoring in the area will always be detrimental - if you care for your community, then you should back a tightening of access - there is no other realistic long term proposal. As to the specifics of a CPZ - you could argue all day and never reach a conclusion, with both sides able to trot out routine, wekll rehearsed arguments such as displacement of the problems etc - something needs to be done but is only now rearing its head due to it directly affecting some areas that were usually ambivalent on the subject until it affected them directly

I watched one being pickpocked at Keleti station in Budapest some years ago, literally a metre in front of me after falling for the newspaper on the face routine - utterly laughable incompetence. Or managing to bribe our way our of a severe kicking In Sebasatpol by a bunch of coppers, whilst secrt service man was nearly crying and demanding to be taken to the British Embassy...3 days later in St Petersburg, whilst at a nightclub I left them to fend for themsleves and gave them detials of the hotels address in Cyrillic so they could get home - when I arrived back in the morning, both had been mugged by the Russian police, their USD taken and one had a broken finger. rubbish

its nnot the plymouth - banjul is it ?

I would be cautious of siding with the traders on this as their priorities are not the same as residents.

Chains build this type of inconvenience into their Schedule, knowing fine well that council rarely get around to sorting things out once the business is up n running - there wa problem with signeage PP with neros IIRC. close them down. Nothing personal, but Southwark must be firm to stop people taking the piss. See how much effort is taken with domestic Loft conversions and suchlike, yet a business has an effective free reign to do whatever and apply for permission afterwards - is accepted nowadays sign the petition and you cant utter a word when the next heinous development goes ahead without the correct permissions beuing granted - just cos you like the product doesnt change the principle - today a coffee bar, tomorrow a waste depot for an asbestos stipping business....? All they want is your money - by aligning with them via their precious petition, you are giving a de facto permission for all and sundry to do whatever they want. Ask yourswelf - Do you care about ED ?
