apart for my tendacy for abusing strangers on the street and my predlicition for calling people nazis , I should have been a journalist. I dont read teh times, but if Janice is representaive of this lot, then we our society is in a worse situation that I thought. lazy, smug, derivative cobblers. -
Um. I dont know how much posters know aboutthis particular incident and the characters involved ? not much it would seem Obviously the specifics cant be discussed cos of Copper / prosecution situation- so I wont comment on it. The interesting thing is that the people involved sum up the problems we have in ED - dare I say the increasing gaps between long terms residents and relatively wealthy incomers - in fact , theo whole incident bring in other areas we have discussed at lengh on this MB - one of whch is more than a little emotional and has a high likeleyhood of a knee jerky response. some might say its lucky it was only a car ionvolved in fact, about the only topic of late that this incident doesnt directly involve is Foxtons scarey!

its all to do with the misty past IIRC working clothes used to associated with all day or straight from work big session on payday = hence the traditional block on working clothes, as landlords didnt want leathered miners or whatever getting frisky in the pub - none working clothes on a working class man, meant that someones actually gone home and chanmged = not on an all day bender

its a bit of a craze at the minute - kids pinch the emegency window hammers from buses and see how many windows they can pop - its very effective - almost silent in operation dont worry tho - fireworks will be on sale soon to divert their attention
-
Do c'mon then, who is responssible for the cut n past pro monarchy cobblers that seems top be renewed almost daily on the window of the now derelict, Somali run newsagents, next to John Allen flowers ?

Thin edge of wedge . The crux of this particalar argument seems to down to opinion as to whether a certain medical practice is proposing to do this for the right reasons - agt least that is how the petition aspect is being sold. I think this is a red herring people - the argument about the medical cetre may be a legitimate depending on your perspective at this point , but Im sure if the plan was radically altered to remove the medical centre from the equation, this would not be the end of the matter - other proposals , im sure, would hardly be welcomed The thought of dirty skagheads, going cold turkey dripping with AIDS and lurking in parks waiting for their "man" is at the root of the problem I think - they are not welcome here - not in the new improved ED with the vibrant Lordship lane and only 11 mins away from London bridge station. There have always been drug users in SE22, you may not notice them - they look like normal human beings - they may be living next door to you - not all drug fiends live in fetid crack houses and burgle for a living.some have jobs and families- they live among us. There always will be drug users in SE22- look at the location and depravation aropund us, the proximity to the maudsley -accept the problem exists and work with it - trying to drive them out by proxy isnt going to work. -
I could never go into Bushells. not ever. Evetry time I see the place, think of that big mouthed wanker Gary Bushell.

My word. this certainly is getting a bit frantic - I think too many people have been up all night playing the eagerly awaited Halo3 and drinking the too much non vegetarian bulls guts tainted red bull. Ive had 911. they can be fantastic drivers cars- althou using one in the mean streets of SE22 is a bit wasteful - but its a fine line between taken as an enthuisiast of the growling flat 6 and viewed as cock- thats part of the package - If you are an adult, then you should be able to live with your decisions. cars get bumped and scrathced in LOndon, sometimes vandalised - and dont assume its motivated by jealosy either. It could have been worse, you have have had a Bentley - those really are vulgar and I would have probabaly joined in the vandalising party.

Bishop "Yummy Mummy ? that?s a phrase that make you grind your teeth and mutter vague obscenities at people on public transport isn?t it. I suspect that YM is on e quite happily tossed around by the ?YM? themselves, even if they are far on the wrong side of 30, having lost their best years in climbing the greasy pole of corporate success. You never hear of single mothers on peckham estates being described as YM do you ? Scummy mummy anyone ? Hmmmmm Anyway, the Bishop, If you like your YM hot n ready, the you will feel right at home here in the afternoons, where legions of buggies and their precious loads battle for space on the distressed oak beam flooring. The ramshackle mismatched tables and chairs will be piled high in bar food and swimming in drinks for mothers and children alike. I witnessed a child barely broaching 2, snugly asleep in his buggy, proudly clutching what looked like his favourite book.? My first 1000 words in German? I barely know 1000 words in English. The interior is surprisingly spacious ( GCH Not tested ), with a bar big enough to make paying for drinks relatively hassle free ? and they serve your change on a silver ( coloured ) platter. Nice touch. OK range of beers, including ubiquitous real ales and a decent range of bottles. The depth of the pub and the layout mean its quite easy to get nestled in and enjoy the evening. It does however, get rather busy at the weekends, with punters spilling onto the street, much to the chagrin of the local residents . It?s missing something though. Not sure what ? there?s nothing to get irked about, the staff are pleasant, beer good, service and foot quite acceptable, But that?s where it ends. Its neither a destination to aim for, nor a local to feel quite comfortable in ? maybe the intrinsically transient nature of the evening crowd- early- mid 20?s renters and first time buyers don?t really cement the place. The most memorable and oft commented feature of the Bishop is that it?s got a sleek dog that lurks inside. A weimaraner to boot ? a hunting dog that?s doesn?t hunt any more, stuck in the seething melee of SE London. Quite apt for the Bishop in some ways."

The feckers are not happy about comments on the bishop - wont let me post without approval from a mod - I suppose they have to run them past the licencee. Quislings.

I have opinions on the DMC that oddly enough seem in line with your own - but we have to be careful what we say on this MB - THEY are listening! The greed/not greed aspect of the DMC aside - I dont see the the problem - the overwhelming majority of needle useres are normal everyday people and not the cartoons you see in films and ITV dramas - they dont usually throw their works into playgrounds and over fences. petitions and demonisation of groups does not go any way to tackling the problem the motivation of the DMC is arguable, but there is a need for this facility in the area. -
Def. got them - 2 at in the past couple fo weeks- sunning themselves on teh path - the snorklets love them. I did pick them up though, which I know you shouldnt - one looked like it had been attacked by a cat, as it had a big split 2/3 of the way along its body - later I realised it was shedding its tail to escape from me (tu) Thye are a lovely golden brown colour and have a forked tongue that flicks out deliciously Stags are great -we have them as well - when they fly , its like one of those blackhwak helicopter things, both in size and sound - scarey when you see one for the first time bumbling towards you. alos in garden - At least one common lizard, a world of newts, what seems like a carpet of toads some evenings, robisn, fockin parakeets (6), wrens. oh, yes and piles of bloody syringes from the hordes of skagheads that area flooding into ED, in a concerted effort to destry our childrens lives ( joke )

Can I call these petition people Nazis, or will that get me suspended again cos of that Godwins law or whatever ? -
the NIMBYS will have a field day here - even though they only have mobile phones "in case of emergency". I think the biblical quote about sin/cast/stone is fairly relevant

The snorklets have been given free rein to run amok in the new foxtons branch whenever we pass. they have also been told this isd the only place they can use their new found naughty words. The hollow fixed smiles of the one dimensional foxtons staff will fade after the 2nd or 3rd visit I think I look forward to the inevitable stand off as Foxtons call the filth to get us barred from the premises. The SLP will be informed of course.

Sorry to hear it nat - stuff happens sometimes - may not be your fault - this is London after all, and you have to accept the odd scrape and scratch, but not usually broken wiondows unless the crackheads have been in the area - these usually go in spates. Tyre slashing is usually personal - as I was saying, even the chattering classes do it to their neighbours xcars now , rather than speak to them and sort a problem out.

How Ashbourne has changed in the past few years. Once upon a time you could actually park on it, without getting involved in a "dropped kerb" argument with some new arrival. I have witnessed guardian reader / upstanding people damage cars that have dared poke a bumper across someone recently dropped kerb.Irrelevant that there was plenty of access to the paved garden area at the time, and no one was actually blocked in. Still, its better to scratch someones car when they are on LL broweing amongst the overpriced tat , than to actually SPEAK to them when they get get back. Thye could have KNIFE on them you know. There are some long term residents that its probably best not to irk too much if you get what I mean

abnyone else got sloworns on their land in the "manor" of Ed ? fantastic - blew me away when I found them(tu)
