Syringe Exchange/Methadone Services: Crystal Palace Rd

threatsoflitigationaggedon actually, I have been at the receiving end of people like this and their mantra like threats of litigation for perceived slight over property problems they moved soon after. -
after living in SE London for some time, you become immune to the sounds of bangers and various Nov/ 5th pyrotechnics - you are able to filtrr them out - I really the notice the sounds of AK47s as they pop another cap in a deserving suckers ass for disrespekt outside the Chik-king ( a royal delight ) franchise. Real hard core SE Londers know the different tonal qualities of various calibre small arms fire and can recognise it without thinking

"from the back of the room one man made the point that the pharmancy going ahead would devalue house prices. Well, this is East Dulwich after all and house prices had to figure. He'd just been on the phone to a city lawyer (oooh!) and suggested that locals in the community should get their houses valued and that he would start a class action against the DMC were they to proceed. Many arms were raised in support of this. " Whoever you are brave sir, You are indeed a twat of the highest order. -
Oh dea, you sound traumatised. go to your GP and get it on record I would be straighht onto a no win/ no fee lawyer and make sure foxytons are aware of your trauma. I think this could spiral into thousand of pounds if you are careful.

I think there is one important differnce here - the people who will be using a needle exchange drop in will be unlikely to be the same ones who discard their works around the place - if these users have enough nous to get up , get on a bus and go for some clean jags, then its unlikely they will then revert to cartoon junkie stereotype and proceed to bang up on the wall outside the exchange and spray their blood on passers by. We/ You will know the users who live in the area ( at eklast you should iof you keep your eyes open ) and apart from the odd...ehm..."incident" as we have discussed at length on ths board, they are fairly low key. Needle exchange users are usually settled enough to benefit from a setup like this There is low level drug dealing / supply in ED, but a needle exchange will nor turn LL into the new Brixton & mean we have to walk the gauntlet of dealers on our way to Foxtons to buy another house . The users who discard their works are usually transient, NFA and possibly involved in minor crime to supplment their non existant income - these are not the target group for a needle exchange setup like this - this is where outreach workers will work with them in situ. I think we do have to question the motives of the DMC though - they do have a rapacious approach to market cornering and making hard cash- that I cannot argue with there is a need in the area. but if not crystal palace road, then where ? like telephone masts, no one wants one within spitting distance of their homes, or want to pass by one on their way to buy their Daily Mail each morning um. -
Bertrand= word! Unfort. they aint posted the Bishop review under teh Bishop - ive jammed it into the Black Cherry instead- its just next door , so its close enough.

Im sure Iggly and Davey shared a squat in Berlin or something- during Daveys flirtation with fascism - now conveniently airbrushed from the record books Both were off their faces on teh charlie the entire time tho' ( although DB did "pork" MJ as a one off back in the early '70s by all accounts )

Update - the cap twisting forelock tugging sycophants who run BITE have not stuck up my review of teh Bishop nor have responded to my mails, one week or so on, querying why not. It is not for me however to suggest any collusion between bar owner and site owners to restrict the reviews to only ones that show the place in a good light - that would be unfair - I does concern me tho' IT wasnt even a bad review - not really. So if Mr Bishop is lurking ( along with that tiresome and squat Mr Deli with the bad attitude and hotline to his ambulance chasing solicitor ) - please do tell us what the relationship is between you and teh BITE and why teh BishBosh is the only pub you have to have comments approved by "them"

Wasnt that Iggly pop & David bowie ? teh drugs were to blame IIRC

please do.

Good work people - lets force out those on the margins and make ED a de facto gated community. What next ? mandatory CRB checks for all remaining residents with ans SE22 poscode - just in case ? Drug users homes forced to display a red "D" on the front door ? Alchoholics a red "A" ? ( apologies to Nat Hawthorne ) This petition is the equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and singing LALALALALALALALALALALA as loudly as possible so you cant hear what someone is saying to you. I applaud you all. -

ClareC Who has said he has done anything wrong ? In comparison to the rest of our EU chums, UK law is still in the dark ages with regard to tenants rights. I make no judgement on Kais post, apart from he has nmade a decision to become a landlord - irrespective of him making a loss or a profit wach month - Kai was not forced at gunpoint to become a landlord - he then has to take the good with the bad.Whatever the reason,. he made that decision. Bad tenant/ bad choice of share portfolio / bad choice of Emerging market corporate bonds in your pension pot Personal choices that are not motivated by any sense of responsibility to wider or even local community - Unlucky - live with it.

"premier ED street" urgh. never ever ever assume that cos an area is on the up, everyone is prepared to talk through problems over a cup of Earl Grey and a handshake or a vague threat of a solicitors letter Even Ashbourne has people that you should never ever cross, even if they do not appear to be any obvious threat. treat everyone in your street with respect and at the same level, and you will make everyones lives a great deal easier. I could be cynical ans say its part of the risk of getting intrinsically involved in people lives when you become a landlord for profit. no one is forced to be a landlord. people are forced to be tenants

its a vicious circle - as more people get dropepd kerbs, more people want them to protectt their own parking space and street parking places become less available, tempers frayed, tyres punctured, paddington bear style hard stares used more frequently. Dont mean to be patronising - many Middle class people who now live in ED dont realise that giving someone a hard stare and a scowl over a perceived slight like parking over a dropped kerb can have apalling unexpected consequences - we are after all in SE London, surroudend by some dreadful eatstes with terrible deprivation and within spitting distance to a m major psyciatric hospital. the hard real world came sometimes inavade and bite your arse - whether its right or wrong is another matter.
