  1. We were on this the other day, and I agree I think we are in the 2nd division of International teams but we used to be involved in some of the best games at most tournaments (Argentina/Poland '86, Camerron/Germany 90, Argentina '98 - just examples in the World Cup) long gone now, just boring grinded results and wimp out exits in the Knockouts.
  2. When was the last proper heart rendering England game at a tournament...Argentina back in '98?. Maybe Romania in 2000. Used to be plenty
  3. Labour are in a 1980s wet dream protest and revolution fest and loving it. You can see it their eyes, sod responsibility and government "maggiee, maggie, maggie out out out".the new labour oh so funny "Con Dems" , actually offensive inverted class war (hysteriical from a bunch of middle class teachers and, er, academics sons bought up in a ?1.5 million house left to them in trust by their 'communist' dad.....tax evasion ok for Labour families obvioulsy(see also Tony "We've got a mortgage" Benn's Holland Park mansions, er also left in trust to avoid death duties.)...oh "we've got our party back" as the welsh winbag said.
  4. Keef Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Keef = :-S > > Keef's forcast for 5pm = :)-D See, Keef's got it right
  5. I was hoping the government would move away from the simple 'measurement/target' culture so endemic in New Labour. It's impractical, nay impossible, and unactionable so why not spend the money on things that might actually improve people's happiness.
  6. Does it mean PGC and Declan get their drinks? You're getting a rep up there with Bluerevolution for welshing on your bets Mick
  7. Funnily enough (as a boozer) I think booze is a nightmare for this, just double 'black dog' with boozer's gloom the next day, personally a walk and a think does it for me but I'm very rarely low and tend to lean towards rational answers (wether they are right or wrong is besides the point)
  8. Will we see an improvemnt in your posting Mick?
  9. yeah, but that's becuase you're a bleeding heart liberal do-gooder ;-)
  10. Oi. This is simple smiley index metric, nothing else
  11. Quids= :)
  12. Of course critics of that index have also pointed out for instance that these countries (and the Scandies are often in these "oooh look equality works" simplifications) also have less immigration and a more homogenous culture etc., not sure the left would like the BNP to grab hold of that from their simple analysis that IT's EQUALITY. It's a load of poop there's far too many complicated variables to simplify this. A meaningful and more importantly ACTIONABLE happiness index is pie in the sky...it will tell us Doncaster is the best place to live in the UK or something equally stupid and irrelevant.
  13. The Prince of Wales, Cleaver Square must be in the cosy pub list. Please tell me it's still there someone? Though V&A, Tate Modern and Dulwich picture gallery are all splendid places to have lunch they don't look like what the OP is looking for...cosy
  14. Not sure you're right DC, qualitative research measures reactions and feelings and is not represntative or undertaken to produce 'numbers' or index...it's not sampled, quotad etc it's more nuanced and observational than a benchmark. Gawd, that old equality graph again, lefties hang on to it like a holy grail - now I'll post that one on suicides or the one that shows increased rates of tax actually results in less tax take at higher thresholds
  15. Portugal....then Spain....Maybe then Italy, maybe then Euro Kaput
  16. Just an observation but I think that 'In-laws' to the mum(s) are possibly a bit more wary of seeing as intervening(intefering) with how their daughter-in-laws are parenting/babying, it's quite a sensitive area....looks on here for instance that quite a lot of you ladies are saying my parents are great (not all) but inlaws less hands on, I don't think that's entirely coincidental?
  17. He said Judge him after 15 games when we lost the first 3? That'll do. We've just got 3 points from the last 4 games including Wesrt Brom and Blackpool at home. His selection and tactics are bizzare with the exception of Piquonte his signings are all useless. The players don't look interested, Upson, our fooooking captain FFS today, and Cole want out and will go for peanuts, if anyone wants them. The fans have had it with them Jah, tonight was the last straw methinks, Wigan at home next week may just save Grant but I'm almost in that odd situation where I'd arther we lost and he went as I think we'll go down with him at the helm. His post match interviews are a sven/Capello like mastery in trying to say we were unlucky, played well, etc to keep his job. We're carp, so's he. F*ck him.
  18. Nope he wasn't playing. 38% of possesion and one shot on target. Thank god Liverpool stopped trying at half time. Grant looks a disaster, was an odd appointment and he's had some money too so he can't fall back on that excuse. His signings have been bizzare and largely useless. Get him out now.
  19. dare I say it, Liverpool look a bit more adventorous without Gerrard...could be the quality of the opposition tho :(
  20. The only team that i currently follow in any sport are Munster
  21. No danger of that. An embarrassment from a pretty average Liverpool team. Grant and the porn merchants are proving as tragi-comedic as the Icelandic buffoons. Relegation. For the what seems like zillionth time in my nearly 50 years.
  22. Just waiting for Irons' first win at Abfield for 49 years now....
  23. Jah will be very happy and perhaps a touch merry
  24. ????

    a joke
