  1. There are no very interesting facts about East Dulwich it was largely farmland until the late 19th century, has had a couple of famous authors and a horror film star born/live locally and now has a smaterring of tv actors and a few comics...it has very little of architechtural merit and is mentioned in a jeeves novel (the mention hinting at the awful drab surburban nature of it). Doesn't mean I don't like it but it's hardly Greenwich...or even Deptford....or even Camberwell for historical/literary merit is it?

  4. errr, Sean, that's from 2004 get a grip...
  5. Yup, absolutell Kford - anyone else notice how crowded the Bendy Bus 12s are nowadays compared to the old 12s? Full of dodgers - the experienced ones have even got a technique if the bus gets targeted by 'swot' squad, move to back, wait for the confrotation when all the swoters start to get together in supportand then exit, then walk tothe next stop...yup, motorists who pay a fortune in taxes in so many ways already are a very easy target for Livingstone, TFL and local councils to get their money to waste on whatever shit's floating their wasteful boat at the moment.
  6. in 1978, Ralon's Staitoner's owner, in a huge error of misjudgement, missed the advent of the PC and bought 15 gallons of Tippex in a job lot, he has since sold some 7 bottles of Tippex because although as he is a bad judge oft rends in stationery he is a good citizen and takes solvent abuse very seriously...anyway to cut a long story short it has fermented and the sudden drop in temperature led to some kind of odd chemical reaction and tipeexed large areas of SE22 and your shoes..maybe

    Hi there

I think Forums are a bit like cyber pubs, and pubs don't have formal introduction areas.... PS...the EDF reminds me of The Slaughtered Lamb
  8. The other good tactic is too hang around n your loft conversion with a catapualt and ball bearings and bombard the fuckers
  9. Oh lovely. lovely, civic minded (*surely incentivised targeted hitlers?) traffic wardens
  10. it's a badly punctuated version of 'mega walk-in', forgive my dyslexia
  11. People who think a CD shop could thrive on LL are living in Cloud Cuckoo land not SE22
  12. Where you and I differ sean is in your belief that councils and politicians are civic minded in the 21st century compared to say an avergae motorist...they by and large are not. they seek power and money, largely through party mechanisms and intrigue and largely disregard the public apart from at elections. Unfortunately the phrase "those that seek power are the least suitable to wield it" it rings true in both my personal encounters with politicians (even at student level)and on the national stage. Your ongoing trust in them is admirable but for me I can absolutely understand the growing disengagement with politics.....and this, like MM, has led me to Libeterianism, I think that I am best suited to decide how to conduct my life and spend my money not some 'professional' politician. maybe, sad for someomeone who was once an idealist but they aways disaapoint on amssive scale with their vanity, sleaziness, petty corruption, 'intrigue' and incompetence.
  13. I was hoping for a new mega-walk in licensed Ladbrokes
  14. Sean - park on a red route or double yellow, then fine i'll accept it but I have had and got off two parking tickets that were completley unjustified. In one case I could prove that my ticket was wrong on the other I had independent witnesses who were willing to swear in court that my story was right as they could see how blatantly unfair my ticket was - I won't bore you with the actual stories - but in both cases I was absolutely in the right and had to go through several stages of escalating fines and threats before both cases were dropped with a curt "our not pursuing this matters any further is not an admittance of our culpability(sp?)" type letter. Considerable stress, effort and annoyance without any recompense (an apology would have done) in either case...that's what happens with revenue hungry councils employing incentivised wardens.......

    Hi there

Hi there, are you a gambler?
  17. Thank Cassius it's my mum's birthday this week and you've saved me some thinking - I'm finding this forum more and more useful
  18. Ken is everything that is so detestable about politicians self-seeking deepy unprincipled and opportunistic hidden beneath a veneer of outdated ideology - any attack on him is dismissed as media/racism/zionism etc. He uses to harp on about the Labour party and it's importance to him and his values, then deserted them when they didn't want him as candidate for mayor before the spinelss Blair asked him back in. He would do anything to get elected and is cearly a deeply unpleasant character. Boris is an upper class chump..., I'm voting Paddick who at least as some experience outside politics, although I am worried a vote for him will let the odious Ken back in.
  19. Sean= SE22's very own Milky Bar Kid.......morning Sean
