  1. Not really - musicians have always liked to portray themselves as "anti suit". It's part of the "marketing" Anyway, parasites and freeloaders exist BUT if the perfect mechanism was in place to foil them they wouldn't suddenly become consumers. These are not lost sales. It doesn't make them any more morally valid but I don't think many opportunities for sales are being lost People who "steal" music tend to be people who like getting "stuff" for free - they don't care about it, probably don't like it and probably don't listen to it. Idiots, but they were never buying the stuff anyway. And they certainly aren't interested in the smaller artists. So big artists - not losing out Small artists - not losing out as their fans tend to buy the cds Who is losing what here exactly?
  2. and musicians (man)
  3. So a reasonable request about getting some tracks from a CD on to an MP3 player has resulted in various forms of accusation ? thievery, hypocracy, conflation with ID theft (I mean WTF??) Kingy you go to great lengths to explain how ?changing the format? of music Is piracy and theft but it?s all bollocks. What RosieH wishes to do in this case falls fair and square in the ?fair use? category There is no other question here But as you have raised the morality of the rights holders ? these twats actually implemented a system on cds which installed software on to individuals pcs, without their permission, leaving them exposed to infection. They installed software on computers they don?t own ? they are the criminals here, not people like RosieH Protecting music in this way (and DRM on mp3s) is going the way of the dodo ? it?s unworkable and causes legitimates customers grief . Pirates don?t have to suffer any of this grief because they are using versions with all of this ripped out anyway
  4. So if I go to Huguenot or kingy?s house I won?t find any cassettes, VHS tapes or DVDs with old recorded material? None? Ever? And I don?t see any evidence of ?the community that's most likely to be indulging in piracy are 'right-on' socialists? At all
  5. It's a hardy perennial this one longish discussion here same thing happens to me - I just make sure the first respondant with a legit posting history gets the goods.
  6. like you wouldn't believe Mick. It wasn't a typo on my part
  7. Stick it in Ask Admin and see what happens
  8. I thought you had actually cracked it by the end of last year *Bob*
  9. Several years, including several fights picked with his bosses versus 6 months in a job That'll explain the different reactions
  10. he isn't banned but I suspect he may have had enough of getting into stupid arguments with the likes of me. I know how he feels But I'm still curious as to why you or others are saying he is banned I mean YOU are banned but have come back under a different name, Dickensman
  11. "Is it true quids was banned? If so what for?" where do people get this stuff?
  12. So this is some outrageous request is it kingy?
  13. From what I can tell, the OP owns the CD in question and isn?t thieving anything ? she even suggested she would legally download the album again but it isn?t available ? seems fair to me Putting copy protection on CDs was one of the reasons the music business found itself in such deep waters ? treating your PAYING customers like criminals is never a smart move. Pirates find the protection no barrier whatsoever and will distribute the thousands of copies they would anyway, whilst someone who stumped up up to ?15 (ah the good old days) in Virgin or Tower suddenly found that they couldn?t play the CD in some of their CD players See also DVDs which make you sit through endless warning screens whih can?t be skipped ? thanks but I?ve paid my money can I skip this now? If I went the route of piracy at least I wouldn?t have to sit through this bobbins
  14. With lying two faced people? Always
  15. Did you fuck as like chance upon this site
  16. Who The Fuck ARE you???
  17. You are a fruitcake a nutjob plankton im not dignifiying your dribblings with anything like a debunking - you are just another internet mentalist flapping in the wind
  18. "These elite peadoghile rings are everywhere. In Washington, London and every Western center of power. It is even encouraged, because once you are in, they have all the leverage they will ever need, Its similar, but bigger that the Whips system in Parliament." Everything factual eh? So just western powers? The eastern powers get a pass? You nutjobs logging on to a local forum for the first time just to spread your madness sicken me
  19. So will berbatov do a Theo and admit it? Unlikely But gerrard was a straight red for a shocking tackle None of this is kennys fault btw but you don't need to possess a vivid imagination to paint a picture if Roy was still in charge and these events were playing out in the same way.
  20. I have read about this method a few times marker pen
  21. I really can't talk to someone who keeps saying that is what I am saying
  22. Damn boy ? why you get so cross I know that you keep telling me that I ?hate? banks but I really don?t. I agree with you that they will play a critical role in any recovery and long thereafter. It?s a challenging and interesting environment in which to work and yes there are some real pains to work with, many people are just regular joes and fine human beings But every time I suggest that banks have moved into an elevated position above and beyond their useful place in a democracy and should be subject to criticism you have a real go at me about it ? I don?t know why
  23. Paying huges amounts of tax and providing jobs doesn't in and of itself put anyone above criticism tho does it? They might well do all that and still be a large factor in why we are in this position in the first place And as for creditworthiness well let's look at the jokers who decide THAT shall we?
