  1. Orderly queues? Every day outside william rose. Only problem is people find it enjoyable to take the proverbial out of them / us Anyway. A bus stop with a single route = no problem. A bus stop with 4 routes. . Who is queuing for what ?
  2. Good story tamed, and it happens more often than people are led to believe as well. Not uncommon for me to leave a bag/phone on a bus or bar table and have someone run after me. I doubt it will generate as many headlines as bad news tho' Very funny btw ratty! I think at that point I was slowing down so I could catch the tail end of a song before I hit the pub
  3. Whole heap o' sense from messrs Mark and *Bob* there. I can't imagine most people would behave any differently given the same rules - and I've heard many people admit as much on the radio from back when they used to work for companies that were generous with expenses. It's time to change the rules, so let's do that but spare the moral outrage. And bear that outrage in mind next time you submit a home contents claim on your insurance
  4. Clips and discussion of this weeks Irish v English CL coverage some classic Dunphy Quotes again ?I didn?t manage anywhere?I managed to stay alive for 63 and a half years, baby.
  5. Ah but whats this? New graphics card. New middle ware. New generation of consoles. Again! Back to the drawing board team. .
  6. I thought iD did Wolfenstein? No matter, this is all about DNF as far as I'm concerned. Played the original not so long ago and only then remembered that there was meant to be a sequel. It's not the most shocking news is it - NOTHING can survive 12 years in devlopment can it?
  7. Louise_mckenna, apart from the bit which says the you agree with Louisa and disagree with Sue, the gist of what you are saying sounds like Sue. ie I don't believe for a second Sue has her head in the clouds (not on this issue anyway - sorry Sue!) and all she is saying is be sensible as well There isn't anywhere in London that is completely safe - and pointing at other areas just looks silly (even if statistically they do have higher crime rates) basically - when you were brought up in/moved to London you learned/knew that it was a seething metropolis. It's horrible when it happens but muggings/attacks etc will happen. Even if 100% of Brendan and my tax pays for police. And even if we are absolutely not complacent about it It is wrong to suggest we shouldn't be bothered just as it is wrong to think there was ever a time when this wasn't an issue. And it's wrong to seize every attack as some sort of chicken-licken/boy who cries wolf "The sky is falling down" As someone says we have local papers for that sort of thing. In teh meantime as bout Lousie AND Sue said - just continue to be careful (All that said, judging by history, we can expect crime to go up in a recession so I'm not suggesting that's not happening NOR that we should just accept it. But we shouldn't be surprised either)
  8. Lampard was pretty impressive after the game I thought - he was indeed being magnanimous But apart from Ballack and then Drogba (and to a lesser extent Terry - quelle surprise) all losing it, the BEST bit was in the studio. Jamie was nearly in tears and Souness was sticking up for teh ref.. they nearly had a fight. I'm sure a couple of ad-breaks were rushed into before they said something they might regret, I must check if it's on youtube by now..
  9. Crimestoppers have this to say Stats will only go so far of course - if you feel afraid you feel afraid after all. But we have to take responsibility for how we manage fear. If we don't manage it at all we never leave the house. If we leave all our doors and windows wide open on the other hand...
  10. I believe everyone should be able to walk around safely at night, not just women. Call me a square from the past My thoughts, condolences to the victim in this attack
  11. Naturally I had to go and find it - even if it's a thread shared with another show
  12. Another fan here - there are a few of us, I think there was a thread on yonks ago - probably as long ago as the last series
  13. is there much of that going on Nero? I agree with your badic points and level-headed approach but I find myself in a curious place on this debate Most of the "flu what flu??" gang are not so much hubristic about nature but all too aware of the way media and governments work (for both mutual and independant reasons) and have developed a cynical defense mechanism. And not without good reason. Not that I'm greeing with conspiracy theorists on this one either.. they are making hay with all of this. I just don't understand why this, THIS one, was deemed so worrisome? I find it all too easy to believe that nature can develop a strain which will have potentially deadly consequences, but I just saw nothing from day one to justify the exposure. And yes, safer-than-sorry is't going to physically hurt anyone but when I see people getting on buses in south London with face masks I do think there is a greater worry viz: peoples' openness to suggestion
  14. One of life's mysteries, eh?
  15. I don't mind the commentary but the door opening noise can F*** RIGHT OFF!!!!!
  16. flapjackdavey has been temporaily nominated by me as forumite of the month for including Farmer In The City by Scott Walker - just fabulous
  17. The ref has been poor. The fact that fletcher was sent off is shocking but to not be even able to appeal is just unbelievable Unrelated note... Adeboyor can leave tomorrow as far as i am concerned
  18. Great break by united and you cant say the wrong team is going through
  19. Damage limitation is name of the game now mike. And even then im not confident. .
  20. We look a shadow of ourselves. Started bright enough but an ill timed slip and a cracking free kick (from a soft award mind ) and the kids are lost. Ah well. . Im not surprised and just hope they re group for next season
  21. But "heroes" is ok surely !
  22. Light My Fire - The Doors (or any of the cover versions - incl Massive Attack) I have to leave the room
  23. I've had a feeling all year that we would play Barca at some point this season so by that token... But I was thinking this morning that even if we storm into a 3-0 lead, all they have to do is score one and then we will wobble badly Tense night ahead methinks
  24. Anyone give Arsenal a chance tonight? No, me neither...
