  1. antijen, was it not you who wrote " In other threads regarding decisions made by individuals who are working with the public/people eg police, army, on expressing my thoughts on this forum, about people who can only follow orders, I've been reminded of Nueremburg," That gives Annaj (and anyone else) enough to accuse you of comparing people to nazis surely? And you are being emotive - you are linking to incidents which are facts! (your exclamation point) but the whole point about being emotive is to overuse facts to make a wider, emotional argument. And using phrases like "who do you think you are?" just because she happens to counter your points with a few of her own is only proving Annaj's point not yours Anyway, back to the topic. The main reason I'm not signing the petition is because it's pointless. It doesn't matter whether I agree or not - I can go to the petition website and find dozens of arguments I agree wholehearetdly with but I'm not signing any of them. Waste of time. Better of filling inlottery numbers, hope you win the money, then pay the nurses legal bills
  2. if {forum.viewer}="david_carnell" then message = "Come on Leeds!!!" else {forum.viewer}="peckhamgatecrasher" then message = "Come on Milwall!!!" endif Print.message
  3. Happy birthday to ladygooner today
  4. if I read that line one more freakin time...
  5. Mick - I reckon there is 0% chance of that being their target market.
  6. Anyone else think this is nothing more than a carefully orchestrated PR stunt?
  7. Are we talking Adventure Bar territory Jeremy?
  8. I am signed up but I don't post anything.. however I do subscribe to about 4 people/publications and ifind I get a good hit of reading material from that every day. A couple of newspapers and Ben Goldacre (of Bad Science fame) It's not changing my world or anything and I wouldn't even go and recommend it - but it is doing a job
  9. one of the reasons I like CPP is that he isn't one of these macho heat-for-it's -own-sake-merchants yes he sells the seriously hot stuff but even then it has flavour and taste. Ok, pineapple mostly but still...
  10. Arsenal fans haven't forgotten. It was just A Long Time Ago
  11. About 3 or 4 weeks back i wrote "Re: JetSetWilly's earlier assertion that the police will be shown in a more positive light in time re: Tomlinson It's not looking that way yet, and getting worse day by day " And I'm still waiting for JSW's predictions.. or even a response from the man himself - does he still think that?
  12. "and the rest" being?
  13. OMG - I just realised Sherwick might be serious about Nick Ferari
  14. oops - cross posted with Keef.
  15. So Keef disagrees with Nick ferrari - that makes Keef right by default Besides keef wasn't being harsh in any way - he just (correctly) pointed out that from an aesthetic viewpoint ED doesn't have much going for it compared with lots of other areas. The shops and houses are all relatively modest, often scruffy and there isn't anything architecturally to make you go "ooh" - not even a town clock a la Harlesden. It has plenty else to recommend it and I would defend it against anywhere as a place to live - but pretty on the eye? Nope At least with Woolwich, if you de-grimed it it has potential to be pretty amazing but you can paint up ED all youlike and would still just be low-key. That's ok tho'
  16. I don't like facts - I find they tend to cloud my judgement
  17. Judging by the data, this is a longer term trend which has been dressed up in (and be still my throbbing head) "credit crunch" clothes
  18. To be fair I did just turn up - and the entrance I found was all locked up and forbidding but a guy parked up, pulled out some golf clubs and I asked him casually about green fees and he said I had to be a member It was just after I moved here about 8 years ago so my recollection could be shaky and/or things have changed
  19. We're still friends tho' aren't we Bren?
  20. I'm guessing flipbrit typed that on an iphone Not that he appreciated my sarcasm either way - im not sure why it's a valid claim as he tried to move the vehicle (which is pretty much admitting it's in the wrong spot) but hey it's not just MPs who waste money, sometimes MP's have wasted time and money thrust upon them
  21. The Aquarius golf course? I was turned away when I tried to pay green fees
  22. yeah yeah and you hated G&B until you actually gave it a go Jah.. ;-) I think fractionater is about right tho - first time I tee'd off looking across teh city on a sunny day I thought I was in for a treat. But it's just a bit short and dull. I'm still up for a game tho..
  23. Walk to Elephant & Castle
  24. I think there have been similar threads in the past Sherwick so you are definitely not alone Things have become palpably worse since the mayoral changeover a year ago. In my opinion of course That said I just get an earlier bus than I used to - it's not been a major upheaval
