  3. Amen But what surprises me most is the hostility to any plans to develop these technologies ?waste of money? ?will never provide enough? ?just go nuclear? Nuclear is an answer btw. Just not the right one IMO and whatever warnings were flagged up about financial systems in the last 10 years (only to be poo-poo?d) will be as nothing compared to when nuclear is more fully deployed and goes tits up

    Pies ?

yep similar lines Jeremy I tend to keep the topping much plainer - so just plain mash, with a butter topping to brown under a grill. But the filling is a spicy beef chili (so basically a cottage pie but with chili)
  5. but seriously eater/goose - if you despise so much why re-register?

  8. Anytime parking permits comes up, a huge row ensues. Some people want them and many more, having experienced them elsewhere, seem dead against them so it's not that clear-cut
  9. and I quite like Peter Oborne as well (all things considered)
  10. Man - you are such a square. The wedding is like, sooooo much more happening That's why I like reading the metro every morning - it doesn't hassle me with news yeah? and it's free. Why would anyone pay ?1 to read lot's of boring words about boring things that depress me? I just like stuff I know nothing about just happening to me? and then I can just give out about it? I hate reading about boring stuff but I love complaining and getting angry. And getting pissed. And royal weddings. And getting things for free (ps I am aware that teh "broadsheets" are going OTT with wedding coverage as well - but the other bits are there too)
  11. Call me biased but I'm going to say Arsenal look stronger than any of the last 4 seasons - and with the current crop of youngsters all maturing the trend for this club is up. That doesn't mean we will win anything of course but I'm more optimistic that I have been in recent years
  12. Bravo Weegie, Bravo Not certain I'm around that weekend but will pootle along if I am (are you 100% sure the Lodge is open? It seems to be shut even on Friday/Sat nights these days when I pass)
  13. Good luck with that
  14. Indeed Hal. I said as much earlier. It's just the media frenzy to come that bothers
  15. Techinically, I'm deriding the British media and it's fawning attitude to said monarchy, not the monarchy itself (not on this thread anyway) Good luck to the pair involved but it's just going to be endless, godawful coverage The news channels are reporting how other news channels are covering this... and there is 9 months left!
  16. Probably best avoided in this country still, the Mail should be on their case. Someone dependant on the state marrying someone who has never held a job
  17. He is on BBC London between 3 and 5 today
  18. so - was it a stabbing or wasn't it?
  19. quote from Narnia at last week's forum drinks, upon trying his first Laphroig "it's liquid turf!" which is a good thing in my book, but I wasn't sure if he agreed
  20. and indeed vocal chords are more omnipresent in that general area than they once were
  21. She is more than mental. And extremely litigious She thinks plants can photosynthesise in a human stomache for example discussion about her from a couple of years back
  22. Any excuse for a Black Books thread - huzzah! "enjoy! - it's dreadful.. but quite short"
  23. I'd be amazed if that opinion was unanimous
