  1. Hell no! Just thought Georgia deserved a send off But will be good to see you tomorrow too
  2. well let's not question THAT source You seem to be suggesting that people get banned all the time for no reason cate - seems a bit odd to me. I mean, you're still here intcha?
  3. PR Check the time of the PM and compare it to my post - if you MUST be an ungracious 'mare, and insist on berating me in public for something I didn't do, at least get your chronology right Not for you, this "realising your mistake and you putting your hands up" lark is it You should retract your post because you read something wrong, not because you did or didn't get someone's apology
  4. oooh I dunno cate - you should have seen me in the old days
  5. And this bothers you? But if you want to throw your lot in with and defend someone who behaves like that, I'll save you my opinion, as yours speaks volumes
  6. that'll be me - steve has met me and knows my name Mayeb these workmen are slackers but I can't imagine any company being that badly managed they could get away with that for so long. It's probably not just tardiness butthey may be dependant on people off-site as well But if they are slacking, that's why I wondered whatthe response of the company in question was
  7. I dunno cate - louisiana's post is pertinent to this thread whereas your's is just.... impertinent
  8. Well if the LibDems were elected and the single party in power, then you might have a point Ridgely. But whatever promises they made when campaigning they aren?t likely to be able to fulfill many of them being the minor party in a coalition. That doesn?t make them devil-spawn
  9. Erm - I wasn't moralising at all. I was making the point that parents spend a large part of their lives worrying about their children. I wasn't making ANY point about your childhood as I have no idea about it whatsoever. I used second-person instead of "one" I guess but it wasn't meant to be you specifically I thought the whole post was simple, practical advice
  10. And that ruckus would be going on regardless of the LibDems - yes they made promises but it wasn't them that got elected - no one party did. So the placards and chants may have differed but the message would be the same
  11. yay Tillie bespoke! bob - that's a given now - back to the simple "yea" s please (a la annaj and Ladygooner - I thank you ;-) )
  12. Not too sure - we know Admin is aware of it (a few people have it) but whether it can be sorted, I don't know Various tweaks have fixed some things in recent days so I'd say it's ongoing
  13. Seriously tho - is it a pipe affecting just your gaff or several people's have you rung the company in question? What was the response? I've got to say that when it comes to gas and electricity I find the util co's get things sorted pdq
  14. Have a look in the About The Forum section - big discussion there
  15. Not a very grown up outlook so far, recycling many ?hilarious? media puns Maybe they are ?broken? , time will tell but much as I dislike Clegg, the fact remains this country did not elect a single party ? some sort of coalition was required. I do not believe the country would have had the stomach for a Lib-Lab coalition and so Clegg decided the country (yes) and the party (too) would best be served by tempering SOME of the Tories excesses They are damned if they do and damned if they don?t. People SAY they want an end to tribal politics and wish they would act like grown-ups and just get the job done. Yet when that happens not only are they pilloried but in the most lowest-common-denominator way Personally, despite protests, the period they serve in power will do them good and they will become a stronger force in British politics
  16. that's the spirit not so keen on pumpin tho. But that's just me
  17. Sounds like you know how to fix the leak quicker steve - off you go
  18. I'm guessing for food the Co-op can deliver? If they have to travel further, without knowing what the journey is for it's hard to say what could replace them Oviously that sounds like I'm confining them to the house but either a) they are of such infirmity they need to not travel, and should seek visits, delivery or taxis where possible or b) they aren't that bad yet and there isn't much you can do about it other than worry, just as they have spent worrying about you (at various stages)
  19. true felt-tip, but after exhasting all of the local options, then international, and then being Lounged, we are already waaay beyond that
  20. I don't think he is in the "exchanging views" game Declan
  21. @ Captain Scarlett blimey - you'll be saying don't go to an Aberdeen Steak House next
  22. @ Jah did I? I can't recall but I wouldn't be surprised But I don't think I've ever been one to say "why go to a restaurant when you can do it at home" - sometimes getting out of the house is exactly what's needed But as I say you can do a very good steak and chips at home - it's just having been to a few good places recently, I wouldn't say you can always do better at home.
  23. Several reason really Just the chips alone, most people can't be doing with the faffage neede to make a great chip - only a restuarant (if inclined) has the volume of oil and fryers to nail it Similarly with steak - in theory they can source a really good steak, and depending on the equipment to hand they can cook it in a way that only a home cook can dream of You can do a really really good steak and chips at home - but it can't match the best in the restaurant world
  24. I?m not disagreeing with you totally Medley, and I accept many of your points. But changing mode can be easier than changing lines on the tube ? and Bank/Monument is a prime example of that. Having lived for many years with a tube, and needing to travel to central London ? I can say that I wouldn?t go back to that. Sometimes it is undeniably the way to go but overall I?m far happier without it than I was with it.
  25. Now this amused me this morning Choose your company name carefully people
