  1. if you ask me this thread is barely reality-related, much less East Dulwich-related You don't need to be able to explain it to claim it as a UFO. I could explain it as "treated video" - but that would no doubt infuriate the OP. It wouldn't make it any less true For. The. Record: I'm not saying it COULD NOT POSSIBLY BE an alien life form. I'm just saying it isn't. Also for the record... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING will come of this footage. Secret military aircraft are not about to cause any disturbance in our homes. You do not need to believe insipid old me. You just need to keep your eyes peeled and realise that.. NOTHING IS HAPPENING. Nothing is going to happen. Because nothing in that, or similar videos mean anything. Again, you don't have to believe me.. but events will transpire and at no point in the future will anybody say: "Oh.. so THAT'S what those lights in the youtube video meant!"
  2. Mission district? Thats so much more like lord ship lane than the others. If i moved to bay area mission is where i would live. Valencia st here i come
  3. Imbibing is a great word. Arsenic.. less so
  4. Let's hope when Pratchett does go, this lot don't decide to pickett his funeral What.. mopes!
  5. That link says it's playing, but nowt coming out of the speakers MP (everything else plays fine) After David_Carnell's recent "Ghost Town" acquisition, it put me in mind of Let's Push Things Forward - Streets
  6. pay a visit to Puffin Crafts maybe? more seriously - it depends on who you are with and what you fancy. Outdoors you can go to the Horniman Gardens, the Dulwich & Sudenham woods, Peckham Rye Park OR Dulwich Park. You could sit outside a caf? and people watch? You could head to the velodrome near the village on the Herne Hill side and cycle. Tennis and Bowling also available in Dulwich Park A teeny bit further at Herne Hill is Brockwell Lido which would be most pleasant on a day like today umm that's all for now off the top of my head. I;m sure others will think of many more
  7. Everything is for all comers! Would be good to see you there m m
  8. Cpt + music + bbq ? A winner surely?
  9. I have been called much worse than that! I can hand on heart state that i have never once complained or reported spangles30 or anyone else. I replied to spangles on that topic and even stood up for her on another thread later on. Nowt to do with me.
  10. And people thought a ?60 fine was harsh for litter. . .
  11. Aced out - after you told me your job, you're scaring me with your lack of google ability ;-) Adventure Bar
  12. I've always had a good time at the RVT but won't be around for Shame. Shame
  13. I had a peek through the windows at the weekend - they have really extended out the back - quite apart from the differece in styles, the place is going to feel very different. I'll miss 72 but I'll remain optimistic about Adventure - it's not their fault 72 had to close
  14. * starts singing.. "Strawberry, vanilla...Sasparilla * * wonders if anyone knows why *
  15. dead dead jealous
  16. SnT It's a pub on the Nunhead/forest Hill side of Peckham Rye - it has been quite busy with promoting music and comedy nights of late so I'm slightly surprised to hear it's for sale
  17. I haven't, AcedOut but a quick google suggests "best not eh?"
  18. muffintop That's exactly what I SHOULD be doing at about 2am tomorrow morning - but alas this year I passed. Although bread and wine will be shared whilst watching the football later. Admin: I am soooo sorry this is off topic. It's largely my fault.
  19. Absolutely fair points moos - but I had hoped that my initial post was just a gentle moderation back, explaining why people might view the church in that light. It really wasn't meant to be a dig at you. Thought it might even be humorous.. "what have the Romans ever done for us etc?". I hoped it wouldn't upset you but if it has, from the bottom of my heart (if I have one) I apologise... Muffintop - I have little belief in any other power, yet I too " try to live my life the best way I can, try to do no harm to anyone or anything living, try to see the good in people (although sometimes thats a challenge) well you get the gist" What's wrong with me!?
  20. reason for Blair reference: Blair admits to faith post-resignation
  21. well.. only because after moos first post I was pretty much the only one being contrary... so when you posted your... oh look I'm all embarrased now. :-$ isn't it home time soon?
  22. Keef: isn't that what Tony Blair said ;-) Like I say I know plenty of people in the area who are Christians, and to my knowledge I get on fine with them. I was just defending someone who got pulled up a bit unfairly (and it was James for cryin out loud - I normally argue with HIM and agree with moos!!)
  23. [slightly off-topic but only to clarify] I don't think I scoffed at moos Keef. I think I called the Christians I know looovely I don't think I was baiting you either moos - I'm aware a number of people on here have faith and that's fine It was just that to pull someone up on calling the Christian Church barbaric isn't totally fair. The palms of my hands and the cheeks of my arse have suffered barbarism a-plenty in the name of Christian teaching. And judging by the skeletons coming out of the closet of the Catholic church in Ireland I was a lucky one. There are further examples galore should anyone want ot discuss That's why I made the distinction between Christians and Christianity in my post - not to bait, or try and be "clever" [back on-topic] Would I object to the school opening? Can't see how I could do anything to stop it. As blinder says, where do you draw the line?
  24. I know, muffintop - you are right of course. I feel positively DREADFUL...... I never want to upset moos. And if Peckhamgatecrasher reads it she'll (violent action deleted) disapprove as well...
  25. * although to be fair the Bible is a BIT barbraic and irrational * * don't hate me * I wouldn't call the Christians I know barbaric. Some of them are looooovely. But I'm not sure Christianity would have survived to the 21st century had it not... erm.. cleaned up it's act a little?
