Lots of bitter Scots coming out with the "just coz you beat us doesn't mean you're any good" line...

    craft beer

Well... or a compromise between the two. But we all know how hard/impossible it has been to make money as a landlord of a tied pub, so an opportunity to carve out a living for themselves and their employees is not to be sniffed at...
  3. And Il Mirto do delivery!

    You're probably right there.

    craft beer

Great news... hopefully will lead to less closures, and better range of beer in pubs!

Why would you think that its for adults only? Do you have to enter your age when registering? Do you have to confirm that you're aged 18 or over?
  8. Yeah of course they're small houses... 2/3 the size of a Victorian terrace, but also 2/3 of the price, so I don't see a problem. Historically they've always sold quite easily... they're popular. Don't let the current slow market put you off.

Does anyone else click on the "personal trainer" advert on the right a liiiittle bit more than strictly necessary? No? Just me?
  10. I'd get the cheapest iPad Air 2 (16GB wifi only). He won't need storage or cellular data.
  11. Basically, there's loads of houses for sale EVERYWHERE! Not just Abbotswood Rd. It's a buyers market right now... you should be able to negotiate hard. Good luck.
  12. So sorry, reggie. Hopefully his work will continue to entertain and amuse.

The linear story arc of the remakes is so disappointing.
  14. TBH if ease of use is your main requirement then iPad is the only way to go. Android is great, but simply not as stable or user friendly. Or a bit of a curve-ball... you could always get him a Kindle for reading the paper, and see how he gets on with it before going the rather more expensive tablet route?
  15. Apologies for the change in subject, but if you're ever in Hong Kong, you need to sample the local version of French Toast. Sandwiched together with a peanut butter filling, and then deep fried. Then topped with a slab of butter and golden syrup.
  16. (that's not to say that there aren't plenty of Tory voters motivated by self interest...)
  17. It's for the whole community. The parents have engaged on here, so are obviously aware of her activities and keeping an eye on things. In fact if I were in their shoes, I'd be telling you to mind your own business!
  18. Surely both left and right have capacity for social concern, the main difference is about how they believe these problems should be addressed...

  21. I have been known to do that WOD. It's a quicker way of doing it, but it goes a bit soggy, and no chance of a browned, slightly crisp top.

Kernel Table Beer and Harbour "India Brown" were both ?5.80 a pint, as I recall. It's just too much. The cask ale is more affordable, but there are other places with just as good real ale selections.

I was enthusiatic about it at first, but went in on a Saturday recently and it was totally dead. And it's expensive... a domestic craft beer (regular strength) shouldn't cost ?6 a pint. The back room is laid out like a restaurant, but nobody's going in there for the food.
  24. I reckon you need to grill the cheesey side for a bit before putting the cheese on, otherwise it goes a bit soggy.
  25. Really shouldn't be a problem if you pull out slowly.
