  1. I know when they opened their toppings sounded a bit "out there", but they've toned them down. I don't think the current menu could be described as strange at all. Saying that - Franco Manca will leave them in their dust.
  2. Personally I'd favour Stevenson to beat Hopkins. I reckon its between Stevenson and Kovalev to figure out who's #1. After that... yes Hopkins can still compete with the like of Tavoris Cloud and Jean Pascal, but why would he want to?

  5. Time for Hopkins to go. His skill and experience have enabled him to be fairly effective against unremarkable opposition for the last few years, but his best days are long behind him.
  6. The final scene makes me want to puke.

  8. So I guess that would mean parking removed on one side of the road, along the whole length of CP/Adys Road? I bet that will go down well!
  9. I walked past over the weekend, and as Reg says, it doesn't appear to have a roof. Surely they can't get this turned round in little over a month?
  10. OK, from my PC, I can only access some websites. Google, Netflix, Facebook, and hotmail work. But Amazon, BBC news, and EDF won't load. When I try from the Mac, I have the same problem. However, using my phone (connected to the same WiFi) I can access any site, no problems. What's going on?
  11. Looks like a very large site... maybe some sort of flagship store that they're hoping will be a draw in its own right? Also, next door to the local leisure centre seems logical in terms of demographic. But hard to imagine it won't be to the detriment of Balfes and Pauls.
  12. Overground from DH or PR to Clapham Junction, then two stops on the train. Don't bother with the rail replacement bus..
  13. Dig up the whole root system and transport it? Probably possible, and probably very expensive. They're not really that rare...
  14. I think it's right that services take priority over entertainment when it comes to budgets. If you really can't afford it, you can always go to another display or watch from the road even. Unfortunately lots of things in life aren't inclusive...
  15. Strange question, newdad. People will always be concerned for various reasons if a serious crime has happened on their doorsetp (and also you always have to expect an element of curtain-twitchery).
  16. Cooling of the housing market is, on balance, a good thing overall. It needn't spell disaster.
  17. Of course I liked the old, pre-revamp comedy club era the best. Never really liked the yellow version as the football/rugby always seemed to be on, which isn't really my bag. The Magnolia showed promise at first, but the food was inconsistent and the space felt cold.
  18. My gut feeling is that increased housing density is an inevitability in a succesful city...
  19. To me he seems to be saying two things. Firstly that there are many other measures which are more important than helmets and high vis clothing. Secondly that in a safe environment, you don't really need those things anyway. Both of these things may be true, but not convinced they're good reasons not to use them in London.
  20. IMO saying that "if the roads were safer we wouldn't need to wear helmets, therefore I won't wear one" is just twisted logic. But I know there are plenty of people who'd agree with him. What can I say, cyclists are a strange bunch!
  21. Yep... stabbing are unfortunately so commonplace that only fatalities seem to be newsworthy. No news is probably good news.
  22. I really don't think ED needs another Brockley Market. We already have lots of other places to eat locally, I don't see the need for twenty food trucks to roll up every weekend.
  23. The reference checks are way too expensive. But TBH the contract and admin fees seem quite standard. As I said before, I think you need get them to clarify what the "secure fee" and "intro fee" are for.
